Derek Jeter was statistically a bad short stop compared to others and his arm and defense wasn't as good but Jeter had heart and is remembered for the ball flip or running into the crowds. As a Knicks fan I expected this vs. Miami, still held out hope, but the bottom line is Miami can make adjustments, they have the most capable on court leader, and they play better team basketball on offense than the Knicks. It's not like it's a NY collapse, it's the reality that as constructed the team just doesn't have an offensive identity. Even vs. the Cavs, the Knicks best offense was missed shots and second chance opportunities. If they're going to miss shot and now, be unable to secure offensive rebounds they have no plan B. I really wish they'd of found a way to keep Reggie Bullock and Alec Burkes. I miss both. I can't argue with Stephen A. about Randle. He just brings the team down more than he uplifts.

@@emailitzs641 What are you talking about? What excuses? The Miami made shots vs. the Bucks and they're making shots vs. the Knicks, that has nothing to do with choking. The Knicks couldn't make shots vs. the Cavs, the difference was they killed the Cavs on the offensive glass. They've even outrebounded the Heat in all but 1 game? But Miami is hitting threes at a clip the Cavs were not. Spo has set a great defensive gameplan in zeroing in on Brunson, Miami is using excellent ball movement to get open shots but most importantly.. they're making them. The Heat/Knicks games were pretty much close all season with Tyler Herro having a chance to win one at the Garden on an open three and Randle having a lights out game in Miami that is NOT THE NORM for him. The Knicks have been inconsistent all year from three, so if a team can secure the rebounds and limit their second chance opportunities they don't another way to beat you. This would have been the conclusion for the Knicks vs. the Bucks, the Celtics, or 76ers. I would agree that Miami's experience in the playoffs gives them the confidence to trust in their shooting behind Butler's stellar play on both ends. But to say "oh the Knicks are choking".. you haven't watch all season have you? This is the team, but it's very quickly gone from surpassing expectations to being a let down because of people's 7 second memories. The Knicks get their wins on hustle and effort and they're not gonna out hustle a Jimmy Butler led team. Until the Knicks can decide between Randle or Barrett, and secure guys that can hit open looks at a better than 38% rate, that'll be their identity. Right now you can cheat off their shooters, clog the lane, and swing their over-aggressive defense to get open looks or draw fouls. Which is exactly what Spo has been doing and Thibs hasn't change a thing. Because he really can't.

I love how Stephan A. always goes off emotionally attacking JJ and saying that JJ personally attacks him. JJ just attacks Stephan A.'s arguments so well that it has escalated to Stephan A. feeling attacked before JJ even says anything. The way he defends the "inevitable attack" by JJ is priceless. Stephan A. directly throwing complaints and personal attacks at JJ about how he's to personal and then goes on to personally attacking JJ about how he's all about stats and not emotional unless it's against him. When in reality JJ just has better and more fact based logical arguments which leads Stephan A. for whatever reason feeling attacked on a personal level. With JJ the one thing I usually find myself disagreeing with is when he fights a bit too hard to defend players who aren't doing something well. His arguments usually come from relating to these players or from not wanting to be seen bashing them (which makes sense and is the right move), but it still comes across as biased. Stephan A. just gets so personal and emotional sometimes it's amazing.
I think the Knicks still had a good season because I certainly didn't expect them to even make the playoffs and they won a playoff series, they were never really a Finals contender so they exceeded expectations this year

I hate how they never give any credit to the coach. It was a close game throughout most of the night but the Heat gameplan was much better than the Knicks. That should be credited to Erik Spoelstra who has outcoached his opponents time and time again. Jimmy Butler wasn’t even fantastic last night and the Heat still won. As a Laker fan I can definitely agree with what SAS says about Randalls playing. He was labeled as a "Bull in a china shop" by most sports casters here in LA. It always felt like wanted to play a different position than what his abilities allowed him to. He always wanted to handle the ball and play like a small guard but he just charged over everyone and looked out of place. I was hoping better for him but he's just not that guy to be the main star of a teams. He's a great 2/3rd option guy.
Honestly the skill is there but as you said his ego is stopping him from taking the next level. He should be playing at the top of the key.
