Best part of my life was spent in this small little city. I meet my wife there at Hughes Aircraft and started my life over at the young age of 41 years old. its very special place ES, its filled with history and stories from the starting of the city to the present day. I mostly remember the easy life there and the calm solitude that becomes El Segundo. Only people who have lived there and had the touching feelings that only that little city can leave on you know just how special and truly blessed anyone who was fortunate enough to have lived there knows, El Segundo is like Mayberry to them in their own seasons of life they lived there. Thank you, El Segundo Four Square Church, all the wonderful shops and restaurants, the family-owned business that were there, and all the great families that raised prosperous children and showed them great childhoods.
wow. Well said and thanks so much for sharing. I haven't lived there but my Brother-in-law does so we've visited a few times. It really does benefit from being a sort of isolated pocket. Such a great community vibe. -H
I grew up in El Segundo. Wonderful childhood memories. Moved there in 1950. Lived at 1712 E. Pine Ave (Goggle it. It's still standing). I graduated El Segundo High School June 1963. Thanks for this video. Alex Adam
I Love El Segundo. I hung out with my best friend there. We played for Manhattan Beach Hurricanes. What's up Jason, Homer and Sarah!. Best people I ever met!
The pleasure we derive from journeys is perhaps dependent more on the mindset with which we travel than on the destination we travel to!!!!! This was absolutely stunning to watch. Greate work, great edit
*-H what would be great of you could also give a census on the towns you visit like population, main religion, race of people in %, type of society that exist in these places 😊👍*
Thanks so much for the suggestion. I appreciate the feedback. I will start to try and put in the population and other simple data points but I probably won’t venture into religion and race as those are issues that are much more complex than numbers. Thanks so much for watching and for the comment. - H
I loved that he stopped and pointed out the flours on the side of the street. I like walking and you see stuff like this all the time, and you just say to yourself "that's neat!' but it must be so cool to be able to point it out and emphasize it in a video.
Hi Henry ! Thanks for this El Segundo, and the first Californian walk. Enjoyed them both very much 😊. Lots to see, and good to get your background chat and descriptions, thanks again, have a good weekend 👍. Cheers, Don 👋
Thanks for the attractive walk Henry. I kept thinking of the song "I Left My Wallet in El Segundo." It was popular when I was in high school. The first time I saw the Pacific Ocean, I made it a point to touch the water, so I could say that I had. I suspect I'm not the only person who does that. I was surprised by how little the refinery detracts from the views. Take care.
*-H There are a lot of walks you can do in LA alone, can you walk at the Griffith obs, beverly hills, Ventura, burbank, Hollywood, Compton south Central ....etc* 😊👍
Hi Terry and thanks for the suggestions. Yes LA has so many opportunities to explore and discover. However, I am living in Montana so I won’t be able to get to them until my next trip down to visit family. I will add them to the list though. Thanks so much. - H
So how do one fix California's ever expensive housing prices? Can a small town like Segundo on the outside of LA, change town policy and make housing more affordable? I don't really know what made houses so expensive in California abroad, but I would like to think there's a solution to that problem. Even if it's not a simple one. Anyone have ideas? Let me know.
Not trying to be mean but it looks a little sketchy like a good place to get stabbed especially at night it doesnt look safe or have the San Diego vibes
Hmmm. The town itself is wonderful and quiet. This part does look a bit industrial but I'd be careful just about anywhere in the LA area at night. Thanks for the comment -H
