Tarja rose to fame with the band Nightwish as their first lead singer in late 90's and early 2000's. After Nightwish she started her solo career in 2005 and is still making music today. She has released 5 rock solo albums so far.. and the in addition all kinds of other projects such as this Dark Christmas album and an electronic music project called Outlanders. I highly recommend reacting to more Tarja. I recommend something from her rock career. It's a song called Victim of Ritual live from Woodstock 2016. I attended her Dark Christmas concert a week ago, and it's an amazing and very atmospheric experience. Tarja is the founder of Nightwish. However, in 2005 she embarked on a solo career and releases rock and classical albums. Last year, she released her first chill-out electronic music album, Outlanders, which is her side project. Tarja has 3 Christmas albums, two of which are dark like this. She has a complicated relationship with Christmas because her mother passed away just before the holiday. Her first solo album was also a Christmas one, and she said that the music essentially saved her in 2005 after the dramatic breakup with Nightwish. In her solo career, for example, the Supremacy cover from the Woodstock festival in Poland or Victim of Ritual from the same festival. Tarja also did covers for Numb by Linkin Park ruclips.net/video/QUqBLqBp5WM/видео.html and Unforgiven by Metallica. She is a mezzo soprano with a beautiful chest voice but oh my can she blow the roof off when she climbs up the scales without sacrificing power. opera and chamber music are close cousins and you can see her attempt to tackle it on Beauty and the Beat with Mein Herr Marquis. A story of a maid at a costume ball mistaken for a famous actress. Even trained opera singers give her credit for a good job by an amateur and figure if she trained for it She could be a profseional. This was released last autumn as 12 seperate videos and in some countries in theatres as a full movie. her label is e.a.r. music for official releases and Tarja Turunen HD has much of her concerts on site. Personal note she is still married 22 years on New Yeaars Eve to Marcello. Their daughter is part of the ghost choir you will see in some of the videos. Front and centre of the choir itself. You will see her playing piano and even drums on one track ( her favourite instrument). The rest of the choir are Naomi's class mates and friends from school.They chose 20 songs. Great reaction. :) Like someone in comment section already wrote, Tarja Turunen was co-founder and first singer of symphonic metal band Nightwish, because of her big operatic voice Nightwish changed concept for their music from acoustic music to symphonic metal, and she was first female operatic singer in metal band, because of her we have now so many amazing female singers in metal music. :) This song is from her album "Dark Christmas" from 2023 it's her second albym with dark versions of christmas songs, first is "From Spirits and Ghosts (Score for a Dark Christmas)" from 2017. Idea for both albums came from Tarja's struggles with enjoying christmas for many years after her mother's death, she sad she couldn't enjoy this time of the year at all. So she decided to make dark versions of christmas songs for people who also can't enjoy christmas and christmas music because of many different reasons, there are many people who lost someone, who are alone for christmas or have other reasons to feel sad in this time. First album is more dark and second is more spooky, really recommend both albums. From first album recommend songs "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" and "O Tannenbaum", in music video to "O Tannenbaum" she showed the idea behind this album, happy and sad side of christmas.
