Do you think the Vstar 1300 makes a good first bike? Tell me in the comments!
Special shoutout to Rush for helping out with the install 🤘

Hate to necro an old thread, but I have a Vstar 1300 and I’m 6’5”. I’ve been looking for extensions for a while. I’ll loose my highway bars and pegs, but I can’t shift from those anyway. Thanks for the video and how has your friend liked the star for the last year? I’ve had mine for three years and love it. Keep two down and be safe!

He has loved it! The bike is bulletproof and wants to ride for hours. Motor is strong for a 1300

@@NicePantsLance I did the install. Brake side was east. The shifter side I had to finagle to make sure enough of the threads from the rod were inserted and yet still have enough room for my boots to fit. I wish the rod was a smidge longer, but it works. If it wouldn’t have been for your video I never would have found the extensions. Keep up the great work!

Just came from the slip on install and I have to say he might be alot more comfortable if he throws those stock bars in the trash and slaps some 10" mini apes on. Can use stock cables as well. If he wants a link to the 10" bars on my 1300 I can get it. Only mentioning it cause him and I are are close in size and those stock bars were the first thing to go.

If you could post a link to those bars that would be great!! Im not sure he wants to spend any more money on the Vstar though. He told me the other day he wants to trade in the Vstar for a bigger bike 😅 caught the bug already!

LoL at 6'4" 425lbs I can say I understand where he is coming from, at the same time though he has a great bike to get him by for awhile. Also if he has an unmolested stock airbox you can drill some holes in that p.o.s. for a decent power gain. Cut six 1/2" holes in mine and made a noticeable difference. Think an air kit/modded airbox will get you something like 10-12 hp and 7-8 ft lbs tq. May need a fuel processor though.

You guys are the exact same height and weight, so ill definitely pass that info along! Especially about the airbox. I'll see if there's any pc5's for sale in the vstar forums

@@NicePantsLance Forget the PC5 and have the ECU reflashed by Ivans Performance Products.

Couldn't really tell the difference until he sat on it. What a nice thing to do! But the custom seat removal will cost alot more. 😉

Would you happen to have the link for the saddlebags? Been looking around and the oem ones are insanely priced

    • @NicePantsLance

Unfortunately I don't! These are stock. There's a scuff on one of the bags, so im actually in the same boat you are

Check out Viking bags. When I decide to replace the stock ones I’m going with Vikings
