I love it I just got the same for my v star 1300 and it sounds awesome. Do u know if there’s any baffle inside that needs replacing over time like done exhausts or just put it on and run it?
Much nicer than the wheezing 2HP-air-compressor-sounding stock pipes! When you have the factory hard bags, you're stuck with a 2-1 exhaust, and the Cobra is the best economical slip-on. Lot of 1300 riders running them. My V Star didn't come with hard bags so I was able to put Vance & Hines Big Shots (2-1-2, but discontinued) on mine and the tone is epic...thumpy and low, and they noticeably increased power and throttle response. Now he just needs a CAI and Ivan's flash, and that thing will be a reliable rocket (0-60 in 4 seconds).
Those big shot pipes like sick!! I'm not sure if my buddy is going to install the Ivan tune or not. He may upgrade to a different bike completely! It's a shame they don't make the Stratoliner or Raider anymore
Sorry for being impatient. I'm debating upgrades and 'bang-for-the-buck'. I live in an RV park for old, (ahem) retired people, and pipes this loud will result in complaints after my 6 am burrito run. After listening, I'm sticking with Cobra intake, Ivan's flash. Thanks for the video!
Not bad for a slip on my 1300 has the long shot pipes they soundstage a bit better I’m glad the previous owner swapped them out but it sounds pretty good
Instead of having a one exit muffler can you have two? I bought these cobra slip ons but they're dual muffler so now i don't even know if i can install or bought the wrong item
@@NicePantsLancethat’s great news. As I’m new to all of this, was it difficult adjusting the controls once you tilted the bars? Any pitfalls I should be looking for when I try this 😂
We only tilted the handlebars forward just a little bit, so we didnt have to adjust the brake or clutch lever position at all! The extended forward control kit install took a little adjusting. The rear brake light switch didnt fit right, so i had to bend the bracket and add a washer to make it work lol its a pain in the butt! I dont know if the 2013 deluxe model is different from your 07 model
That sounds damn nice honestly... I'm wondering if its the same slip-on for the 15' Stryker... I was looking into it recently but haven't a decent-sounding video yet...
I think it might be the same one for the Stryker. I agree it's hard to find a good exhaust vid on these bikes. We chose this slip on cause it was cheap. I really wanted to get a 2 into 1 header kit lol
@@NicePantsLance yeah, thats pretty much where I stand on this one also... price. Was aoming at a V&H but thats almost $1100 shipped in Canada. A little steep IMO.
@@NicePantsLance Finally got it done... huge difference in sound and performance! Bike feels like it's ready to rip at any moment... more torque and just feels more responsive. @@NicePantsLance welp, I just bought a 2013 vstar 1300 a couple days ago! I just installed this cobra slip on…but it is backfiring like crazy! So I just had to buy the fi2000 fuel management system, once that gets delivered I hope that will fix the issue.
@@LoneTraveler247 Cancel that order and get the ECU flashed by Ivans. Like 300 bucks and it'll fix the jerky low speed throttle and fixes all the fuel mapping issues. For the price, the reflash is triple the value of the fi2000.
I hear an occasional rider at 5 6 who has problems being flat-footed st the light, instead of perched on the balls of the feet. Some have lowered it an inch or two, but that results in more dragging floorboards and bottoming out. The 1300 is one of the lowest, sit-in-the-bike motorcycles.
How do I like the sound of the Cobra slip ons? Well to be honest, it is a subjective question that I can only answer with, it is louder. Do I like the sound? That would depend on how it does on long highway miles. I do not know if I would get a headache from the frequencies at higher rpm for long periods or not. As for short in town riding though, the slip ons do sound more aggressive than the stock exhaust. If you like them, that is what counts, as for the neighbors, probably not if you were to rev bomb at five in the morning.
I bought cobra slip-ons for my Honda fury 2 years ago. My Fury is always garaged and has never been out in the rain. The chrome on the bottom pipe now is 'bubbling', rust I imagine. These pipes are CRAP!!!
They're budget pipes for sure! Not sure where you live. Here in WNY we get so much salt during the winter and so much humidity during the summer that a bike will rust out just sitting in your garage! I always wipe my motorcycles down with a dry rag with a little bit of WD40 sprayed onto it. Keeps the rust away indefinitely 👍
@@NicePantsLance Hi. I'm in Sydney Australia. The one pipe is ok, the other has the rust bubbling underneath. I was told if you buy American you cannot go wrong as they produce high quality parts. I am very disappointed. I will never buy again based purely on geography. (certainly not in USA unless maybe highly rec recommended from other bikers.)
Eh, you bought the cheapest slip on possible for the Vstar. Its a roll of the dice when it comes to the chrome plating on slip ons. Has nothing to do with "its from USA and thats why its rusting". Shit happens, you shouldn't put a moretorium on USA products because of 1 mishap. I live in the USA, our products are great. You just had bad luck my friend
How do you like the sound of the Cobra slip-on??
Tell me in the comments!
Loving it compared to the sewing machine... Cobra may be the best bang for the buck🤔

Sounds great! Nice rumble! Next week's installment? The bottom blade attachment to mow the neighbor's lawn.
Ha! I wish. Watching him mow was painful

You can definitely run 2 mufflers or a true dual exhaust if you want. Just gotta make sure the slip on you bought is specific to your bike 👍
