Yes i agree the Valkyrie delivers a very balanced character compared to the Rocket! The Valkyrie is easy to ride by new riders and experienced riders too! The Rocket 3 isn't very new rider friendly 😅

@NicePantsLance - the weight is so low on a Valk, you don't feel it. You feel like you're in command, on a Valkyrie. On the Rocket, you literally feel like you're on a Rocket... loads of power, but "control" feels more like a request than a command.

Yes absolutely, that Valkyrie handles way better than any other bikes its size 🤘

That VTX1800 is a wicked machine! Id even say its faster than the Valkyrie 🤘 let me know if you ever find 6th gear, cause i need one for my Rocket too 😅

Shifting these Indians does make a 'thunk' noise, but you really don't feel the 'thunk' in the shifter lever. With most of the Harley Davidson's I've test ridden, you both hear and feel the 'thunk'.

It truly is a fantastic machine!! Definitely a one size fits all type of motorcycle 🤘

So I'm 240lbs and 6'0" tall, with a 32inch inseam. It definitely has your feet tucked up underneath you, but the clip on handlebars only put your upper body at a mild aggressive lean. The clip on handlebars are raised up, so you don't really have to lay over the gas tank like a yamaha r6, suzuki gsxr, or a kawasaki zx6r. This would make a comfortable rider for someone who is not as large as me. If you're ok with the "attack position" ergonomics and comfortability, then you could definitely make it a everyday rider

@@NicePantsLance it was quite a bit above my budget, I was looking at the MT-09 as the absolute upper range of what I was willing to spend and the Trident as my potential candidate to purchase, but when I came back from the test ride on the Trident they had pushed the RS out front and asked if I was sure I didn't really want to take a rip on it 😂

Wow that's awesome! A test ride is all it took 😁 the mt09 and trident are both great bikes so that says a lot!

@@NicePantsLance for sure. I road that 116 roadmaster. But I can tell the Indian cam is still not a top end cam. Factory performance parts are for some reason still tame 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️. Just my onion.

Wow very good to know! I've heard that these were more American than some of the Harleys of the time. Reverse is a neat function! I've never really needed it myself, but its wild how technologically advanced Honda was back in the 90's

Did you use the right size holesaw to completely free the baffle from the outside of the pipe? Maybe you need cut further in, or maybe get a better fitting holesaw

Well, yes and no. There's another style of exhaust for this bike that has the baffle tack-welded in a few locations. If you drill out those welds, the baffle can slip out and the only damage will be those small holes. This Virago has the more difficult exhaust that needs the baffles cut out. I friggin wish it was easier! Lol 😁

@@NicePantsLance Yeah, makes sense. I've got the same pipes as you, but a bunch of holes drilled into the baffle, not sure if that's the norm? Or if someone's gone custom way to free up xhaust airflow. Nevertheless, cheers, i'll give it a go.

They notoriously have a small tank. Depending on your riding you'll be lucky to get 100 miles.

Its such a fantastic machine! Everyone likes Goldwings, but i like the Valkyrie more. Coworker of mine has a Valkyrie Interstate in mint condition. If Honda made a modern variation i would buy it 🤘

Those 240 section rear tires are almost $300 a piece and i go through them almost once a year! 💀 this car tire is like $70 😅

The clutch was fine 👌 no slippage whatsoever! Fully hydraulic setup

Bahaha yeah maybe a Sportster with a turbo or nitrous 😁 even a 1275 hammer-kitted Sporty would struggle to pass a VTX1800
