      +ChubberJ :) that's so great. i keep feeling like a noob or an outsider when i read all these heartfelt comments and 'i was 7/10/14 when a new hope came out' etc. i'm 26 and i watched all the movies for the first time a couple of years back. i was left with a star wars-y cornucopia of feelings for a while afterwards.. and the passion eventually faded, but i was always appreciative of it nonetheless. now with this revival, and having re-watched 1-6 and having seen 7 just once, the feelings are back, stronger than before. and, yet,.. i don't wanna be that one sudden fan. the one scoffed at by 'trve' fans. in this sense perhaps i am lucky, since i'm not from the us of a, and the legacy in my realm is weak. it's strange, thinking of all the old fans makes me wary of truly expressing my excitement.. but i was involved heart and soul in the experience of TFA, and i kept feeling slight trembles in my legs, on and off during the movie. now, i am left again with lingering feelings, hence the continuous soundtrack listening and the wish to re-watch all of them again. i had an urge to write this so i acted on it. sorries

      I would argue that the Prequel trilogy's opening fanfares were the weakest of all the movies thus far. This one is slightly better, but it will never be as good as the one to A New Hope.

    • @dlh7989
      @dlh7989 8 лет назад +2

      +Reed Pratt I think that is an aspect to this soundtrack that is disappointing...you kind of keep waiting for it to explode into that huge track that completely washes over you and so many times it totally starts revving up and then that's all you get. But I think it's more of a film problem than a Williams problem. Double-edged sword in a way cause part of what makes TFA so entertaining is how scenes are so short and to the point, but at the same time that meant it rarely let the music take control for a satisfying length of time...it always stopped abruptly, or it moved to another scene or something in the middle of the action. Drawback of JJ's style. You do get these standout moments like Kylo's ship landing or the X-wings coming in where it's like "Holy shit, John's still got the magic" but it was mostly the quieter stuff that allowed for the full John Williams experience.

      @Mazurecki56 8 лет назад +11

      It made literally no sense at all though. Finn was a nameless soldier in a army of millions. Why would Kylo Ren be so bothered by someone so insignificant betraying the Order?

    • @kwloy
      @kwloy 8 лет назад +25

      I think we can all admit that Kylo was sort of emotional right there. Dude just killed his dad, and got shot by essentially his uncle.

    • @davidkelly4210
      @davidkelly4210 8 лет назад +4

      Ben knew who he was, if for no other then sending him (then looking him in the eyes) thru the Force on Jakku and this assumes Finn doesn't have a bigger backstory in the 1st Order as many theories suggest in which case Ben, a top ranking member of the Ren and 1st Order, would have known him from before.

    • @Legotrocity666
      @Legotrocity666 7 лет назад +21

      How did it make no sense? Finn deserted the First Order, killed Stormtroopers on Takodana.. Then led the infiltration team into Starkiller base, took down the shields and paved the way for the Resistance to destroy Starkiller base. He also led the Resistance to the Thermal Oscillator to destroy the planet. Not only that, but Kylo saw him on Jakku and helped Hux identify him faster than their computers could as well as hunt him down. He helped the Resistance find Luke Skywalker, and get BB-8 to Leia.
      EDIT: He ALSO helped Poe Dameron escape, the Resistance's best pilot and a good source of information on other Resistance plots.
      So, in answer to your question... He's not "insignificant." In fact, he might be one of the most important characters in the Force Awakens in terms of things he actually accomplished.

    When I listened to the soundtrack the first time, I definitely noticed that the Main Title sounded different/slightly weaker than what I'm used to, but in the theater I honestly didn't notice, so it's fine by me. I heard John Williams couldn't record/conduct with the LSO due to health concerns (I'm probably wrong as the comments explain) :(

The moment where finn's helmet gets covered with blood and he looks around scared and confused and the music is building, then we see poe and he see's something coming from the sky and he's expression says it all: Something bad is coming, the ship emerges from the darkness and it's wings are closing and the music gets really dark and bombastic, so awesome. I keep hearing people being disappointed by how this soundtrack is weak because it lacks some big name epic scores that will be remembered like how originals or prequels have it, but frankly, I disagree, this soundtrack is designed so very much to compliment the film, to work in conjunction with the film to create exactly the right emotions in those scenes and that is exactly what scores are suppose to do, scores are not meant to overshadow a film - the force awakens is a film that comes out in a different kind of movie style than the originals or the prequels, the way the film and score works together should be different - I love this soundtrack and I love this score because it does exactly what scores should do, play right into the emotions people should feel when they see the film, scores aren't design to overtake a film or make it some big theme, and really I think because people are expecting some big theme, somehow it's a bad track without it? no. John Williams' music is on point, fits perfectly into the film, and even tho people say there's no defining music, I can easily name 2 new musical beats that I love, both Rey's theme and the Resistance march are phenomenal and define the film for me, honestly I think lots of people are looking for things that aren't suppose to be there and making mountains out of mole hills

      @Branderbie 8 лет назад +3

      I think the music in this one needed to take a bit more of a backseat since everything else in the movie was so spot on. It still does shine where it needs to though. The acting is so much better than any other star wars movie though so you don't quite need the movie to hold your hand through the emotions enough, and you wouldn't want it to overshadow their amazing performances.

And do t read comment sections to ANY videos either because Fucking idiots go around on random videos and post spoilers. Hans death was spoiled for me through the comments section on here. Gerben the overall plot of the prequels was pretty good. The problem was the cringy things like Anakin's creepy relationship with Padme and the inclusion of Jar Jar Binks.

      That Darth Vader scene just shows we need a spinoff about him! His early days in the Empire (seriously we always just see stuff that takes place not long before A New Hope, lets get something that follows soon after Revenge of the Sith)

    London Symphony orchestra should have been used, doesnt have that diamond sharp sound.

    • @TheZackBriggs
      @TheZackBriggs 8 лет назад +9

      +Dav Mac41 The soundtrack is absolutely disappointing mainly due to sound quality. For the FIRST TIME in Star Wars movie history, the London Symphony Orchestra wasn't used to record the soundtrack. John Williams conducted a "freelance" orchestra and recorded the score in a Sony recording studio. If you listen to the TFA's Main Title theme, it sounds more digital than acoustic, unlike the LSO, which recorded in Abbey Studios, providing a much more grandiose and regal "in-your-face" experience in the prequel and OT versions. Just listen to for example, the Phantom Menace's Main Title then listen to TFA's. Which one sounds better? (NOTE: I own the TFA CD)

    I have never been in a theatre where every seat was full and where each person cheered at the movies opening. The atmosphere of a new star wars movie is amazing

  • @Adwaenyth
    @Adwaenyth 8 лет назад

    I sat down in that seat in the cinema and waited - and when the curtain opened and I heard the music play, a shiver ran through me head to toe. Yesterday I got the BluRay and sat down here in front of my TV and it happened right again. And now that I fired it up on youtube it happend again. Either it's me being weird again or John Williams being absolutely brillaint.
