Until I watched your videos I thought that floor holes were for aesthetic reasons only. There is nothing worse (imho) than seeing resources going though solid ceilings. But they are so much more useful. They allow the building of half of an elevator, and can help with the positioning of the elevator (you just need to start building the elevator with the floor hole targeted). I had read that you can extend the vertical reach of elevators with floor holes and did try that out (successfully) in bringing the SAM ore up from that deep pit. They are much more useful than it appears at first glance. I also appreciate you showing another way to position the elevators by using temporary conveyor belt supports. Thank you!
When building a manifold you can lay down the conveyor first and then the splitters onto the built conveyor, they'll still snap to to the input of the machine but you'll have to build a lot less belts this way.
Hmm, yea I don't have a lot of luck placing splitters on existing belts personally. I like having them locked in place. And typically I build blueprints, but I didnt have them yet for this project. I'll give it a try if I find an opportunity though, thanks for the tip.
I try to do this and it seems half the time that it just doesn't work. The belt isn't divided and resources just pass though the splitter. However the splitter is positioned using this method, and if it doesn't work you can delete the one belt and build the two belts leading to and from the splitter. Is there something I'm doing wrong, causing the splitter not to initially work?
I tried this in one of my more recent VODs. it worked most of the time, but yes, there was one build that did exactly as you describe, so I had to double check each one. I'm not sure if it would have just been faster to build them how I was lol
@@Kinstruction Aye mate, I sure will! As someone who watches these videos while running a limestone crushing plant, I can't help but wonder who else runs machinery associated with satisfactory while watching videos about satisfactory.😁👍🏻
Sorry, meant to say in the intro "The previous episode focused on steel factory planning and prep". Mah bad.

You're welcome! Floor holes combined with belt posts allows you to get a lot of versatility out of belt connections.

Literally just discovered your channel and saw you uploaded 30 seconds ago!
Great timing considering I've just started on steel yesterday! 😁👌🏻
Make sure you watch Ep 7, it goes over the planning and setup before I start construction.
I'm glad you found me!
