To clarify James: rehearsals from end of April 2012. Into stadium at end of June. Saturday before the show:closed full dress. Monday:Public full dress. Wednesday:Public full dress Friday: showday. This is Monday as the flying rings don't light up but fireworks are at the correct time. Wednesday all five rings lit up but fireworks were 8 beats too early and of course Friday spot on! James Greenaway, it is you who is talking crap (see savethesurprise on screens) (I was in it) Thanks Schweppes62 x
Guys, calm down! The title I used was the official event title followed by "dress rehearsal" and it was printed on the ticket we got for free as members of the Olympic IT team. BTW: There were TWO dress rehearsals to cover the full opening ceremony.
Local resident Danny Boyle's hope that they (rather than, say, Orient) would become stadium tenants. I wonder if he still thinks it was a good idea? Also, the original theme of the song ( "Fortune's always hiding, I've looked everywhere, I'm forever blowing bubbles" ) may refer to 'bubbles' in financial markets, such as the 2007-8 crash.
@@PastPresented Respect to Orient, but it would have been awful had they become tenants of this ground. Even Hammers moving there was a bad idea. Miss the old Boleyn ground. the Bubbles song isn't solely attached to Hammers. it's an old tune from the turn of the last century.
@@incarnateTheGreat The original pre-Boris plan was to remove all the above-ground structures and just leave a 25,000 seater bowl. By the time of the opening ceremony though, the grand Johnson scheme was well under way, with only the tenant to be decided.
i Spock to one of my very good friends whom did the tech for the Olympics and you my friend are talking crap, i went to the opening/closing event. crap title for the video but good content

You just answered my potential questions:
1) how many dress rehearsals were there, and
2) how did people get in to watch them?
Cheers!
The audio is mixed up different places
they do public rehearsals
im just saying dude before the actual event they do like 2 or 3 rehearsals
I know West Ham hadn't signed on to the London Stadium yet, so what is the significance of "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles" at 35:56?

When did the dress rehearsal end?
Late at night, if I remember right it was nearly midnight...
@@SchweppesDA Thank you, was the Tim Berners Lee bit the end, or was there any Arctic monkeys or Paul McCartney?
@@benthewheel30 Honestly, that‘s now 11 yrs ago - I can‘t remember, sorry 🙈
