Hi from Australia. I love watching you canning. I am learning so much, and you make me laugh at the same time. Thank you for sharing you knowledge
Thank you Karen Shady!
Thank you - and geaux Saints!
love your poky Joe sounds like a great jar recipe
oh I just love your vinegar jar thing
Gangsta Moice just make me giggle
I did this in pints (for bf & me) & a lot of half pints (for locker at work)... I save a ton of money, by not going to the store. I do chicken & pork also. 90% eat from pantry this winter is making me happy.
Looks good!
Wow good idea for the bowl... I have such a small counter space so it's a struggle trying to get everything together. "Gangsta canning" 🤣🤣🤣I bought choked to death on that one!!!! I wasn't ready!!! Note to self No eating and watching your channel... great laughs and some good eats. That is on my list for sure👍👍👍👍
thank you natasha and glad you lived thru it lol!
Hey Mouse! Not only is this a yummy video, you are so amusing and make me chuckle. Thanks for the happiness!
thanks Rose.
Awesome video Mouse Toes Thanks 👍👍
Yummy ...no other word needed :)
Thank you so much for this. I learn so much from your videos.
Love watching you can these videos are awesome to watch, you are great at explaining how and why you do stuff and for someone that's never canned but surely wants to, these are so helpful. Thank you for sharing your Mouse Toes talent my friend.
Thanks Melina!
Lookin' good! (The pot roast *and* the gangsta canner, lol!)
Hi Mary G !
Easy peezy ...ty
I have made the pot roast in a jar from the Ball Canning book and its fantastic! Its so nice to have a ready to go meal in a jar on those cold winter nights when you get home from work!
I have done the beef with the wine broth, but adding the veggies is the best idea yet. Can't wait to try this. The perfect winter project.
Blessings
These look wonderful. I just put 2 chuck roasts on my list along with baby carrots. I have the rest of the ingreds. I think I’ll add some mushrooms too. You inspired me. I just got done canning 12 pints of ground beef and today I’m canning 12 more pints of hamb. This week end I’ll do this roast. I have many pints of cabbage soup this week also. Delicious.
Dizzie Chef YOU are a canner on FIRE! Way to go!
I have been debating on getting that book, I think I may just have to get one of them there, so I can make me some of that! Thanks for sharing this, enjoyed it very much! Enjoy your day! Catherine
This is just what I need to learn so I can stock my shelves.
Hey Mouse I don't get why more people don't do this type of cooking lot easier quicker and cheaper great video 👌
This is a great recipe. I love the one jar meals.
I need to get that book!
Great video. I think this is going on the list. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your great video. I just found your channel thanks to the January Jar Canning Videos. Wondering why you didn't show your face and then there you were with your bandanna. Love your spirit.
Welcome Araceli! I have a countertop tripod and I just focus my camera on the food.
This is absoultely amazing Mouse Toes. Im going to have to definitely try this and I have this book as well... No Mcdonalds for us... Great video...
That's stuff my grandmother did. I enjoyed Houma and Thibodaux but New Orleans and Red Stick are ok 💙
your granny was WISE Cornholio!
@@MouseToes I didn't care for squirrel so when I went hunting I would clean them and bring them to her and your would have thought it was Christmas 🤣😂
@@cornholiobumghole3451 Oh how cool you did that becuz she prolly lived thru a time where ONE squirrel was HUGE meat for the table.
@@MouseToes yes thru the depression. She had a 2 car garage with shelves from floor to the ceiling all 3 walls and had it stocked with canning jars. She bought coffee by the case when it was on sale. She could make a dollar out of a quarter lol
Looks sooo good. When's dinner!🤗
Bless your heart, canning sister, you get get a lot of walking when you're canning.
Ha Stephanie if I am not making a video I do it all to the right of my stove but for a video there is not a great video angle over there!
Perfection as always!!🥰🥰👍
Love pot roast. Great way to preserve this great dish. Thank you for your wonderful presentation!
Your Pot Roast in a jar looks yummy Mouse. Thanks for sharing it with us. God Bless Y'all.
Going gangsta, 😂
I just made a pot roast a few days ago & Hubby maid delicious hash witth the leftovers. Thanks for sharing. Blessings.
I have toyed with the idea of trying this recipe. Yours looked great. Be a great meal for my mother. Thank you for sharing.
Amazing at canning. I am going to try canning, I remember my grandma canning. Thanks
Great video. Love the one jar meals in this Ball book. I have enjoyed the Chicken and Gravy. After watching you make this, I think I'll keep my eye out for a sale on chuck roast to can this up. Thanks :-)
looks super dee duper yummy! Best kind of fast food ever!
Looks amazing ...
Yum! This looks great! Can you please share how you make YOUR minute rice? Id love to be able to make that! Thank you!
I take my leftover cooked rice and stick in my dehydrator on the veg setting. Once dry I put in a mason jar with a lid. To rehydrate I put some in a bowl and add boiling water.
Mouse Toes YOU’RE AWESOME! Thank you! Btw: i’m the sourdough brownie lady 👋🏼
How long did you process the pints? Loving Jar up January!
Ooo. That looks soooo good. Is the book available at other outlets. Im in Australia and can't get Amazon 🙄
It is also in book stores Erica Draper but do not know if in AUS.
Looks amazing and I don’t have that book! Thanks for showing it!
That looks delicious and simple.
I have the book, most of the ingredients, and just need to get canning. Thanks Mouse Toes.
I was going through my older video's and there was a comment from you. Time fly's so fast. It was about 4 years ago. I have been sick and not able to fish. I have had to change the way I eat. One of the things I am doing is canning my on foods. Not able to fish and put out video's I started a channel. Pamela Homesteading My Ulcerative Colitis Journey. Hope to be back on the water soon. Thank you for the awesome video's you but out. They have helped me on this new journey of mine. God Bless and tight lines!!!
Oh it is great to see you and so sorry for your journey right now and SO glad to see you canning! I just subbed your new channel.
This is great, I have that book. I think I will make it. Thanks for sharing!
That looks amazing! ❤️ I can’t wait to do this!
I'm not a canner but I am learning
I have the same stock bag in my freezer!!
I just made pot roast yesterday, this is such a time saver!
Ms Mouse has the best MRE there is
Thank You :) This is definitely going on my to can list..
Looks super yummy!!! I will have to admit I was distracted by your beautiful golden brown arms the whole time you were working... while I sit in the middle of cold Missouri with my Glow in the Dark skin LOL Thanks for the video!!!
LOL and your spring will come SOON!
Hi MT...New canner here. I understand you're a canning guru! I'm confused. When canning soup, instructions say 1/2 volume meat and veggies, 1/2 broth. But with your pot roast, you filled it with meat and veggies to your 1 in head space then topped it off with broth to 1 in head space. Pretty much same ingredients in both. Is there any reason soup instructions are so restrictive about the ratio of meat and veggies to broth, but it doesn't matter with pot roast? I enjoy your videos! Thanks!
This is not a soup but an approved recipe from a Ball Book of a meal in a jar. A half volume meat/veggies and half broth would be very runny/soupy IMO. I make a layered chicken soup in a quart jar from an approved recipe that does not say that. I " think " the concern may be a density issue perhaps if someone were to smash down/really pack the meat/veggies and have little room for the broth. (density as in too thick for the canning process to evenly heat the center). I have not read the half and half before. I do only use approved recipes from reputable sources like Ball, Clemson Ext Services etc.. Glad to have you here Playinatlife!
Can additional beef broth be subbed for wine? We don’t generally have wine.
It can the wine gives a richer flavor and the alcohol cooks off in the processing and heating.
Mouse Toes thank you very much. I love your videos.
Can you water bath this recipe? Does the book say? If so, how long I live in Florida
NO as no meat can ever be water bathed no matter how long a time. pressure canner only.
@@MouseToes thank you good to know that
What kind of funnel is that? Is it available on Amazon?I would like one that doesn’t rock.
I think its a Progresso; let me check.

Mouse Toes Thank you! I will order one. BTW I started watching your videos this year with Jar It Up January. I showed my husband your videos and I think he’s in love with you! Especially after he saw the video of your stuffed cabbage. He loves cabbage in every form and I will only eat my grandmas fried cabbage. As he was watching and drooling 🤤 I said, you are gonna leave me for her, aren’t you? He laughed and said nah, it’s been 30 years, too much time invested in ya! 😂 So Vern is safe for now.
@@tagalonggal OH I love it Julie Doughty! You have been doing time too with a good'en!
Hey Mouse! ♥
You're rocking the canning gangsta live, you gorgeous woman and them sexy legs with those tight calf muscle! Bet you thought I was going to say something else right there, huh! Lol
Well that too!
What happened to the Saints apron? This Steelers fan is going to raise above and refrain from saying anything mean and nasty here... Lol
London broil was on sale in my neck of the woods and I made a stew for dinner yesterday, thinking there would be a fair amount to can a couple of pints..... Nope!!! There might have been two cups left. Hate it when that happens!
MOMS! No leftovers to can when you are as good a cook as you are!
Why don't we ever see your face?
Deb
because I am cooking food and have small countertop tripod for a close up of the food prep I do .
@@MouseToes Well, now I know. Thanks!
