- The Nike Air Max 90 Tokyo (CW1409 400) dropped alongside a slew of other City specific colorways and in my personal opinion, they’re the best from the pack by far. Pay homage to the hard working folks of Tokyo, Japan and their long historical culture, this AM90 is layers in teal blue textiles with a few well placed Japanese inspired hits. On the tongue and inside of the shoe insert, it says Air Max “エア マックス” . The only part of the shoe that says Tokyo(東京）is on the inside of the tongue “Tokyo” and lastly, on the side of the shoe where it usually says “AIR MAX” , Nike replaced it with Safety First, or anzen dai ichi with the medical cross symbol in the middle. 安全第一

Do Airs still squeak after aging? I had a pair of Nike Airs in the mid 2000s that started squeaking really badly after about a year.
They definitely can and in my experience it’s due to a popped or defective air bag. I don’t typically have issues with mine.
Only if your air bag is defective, if that happens, fill it up with something and your shoe will service. I where AM90’s daily and never had any issues.
It says “安全第一”. It means safety first. The letter is usually labels on construction worker’s helmet.

Anyone noticed how Nike always picks the same cities for packs like this?
I mean to be fair, they pick the cities with the most culture and locations that are easy to tell a story to sell a sneaker. You can’t really justify picking random locations with low populations. It would take too much to build the hype and almost guarantee a loss. It sucks at times, but it makes sense.
They’re the fashion week cities. London, paris, new york, shanghai, milan and tokyo are the major ones. “More culture and fashion driving cities”
