    Man that sucks. I couldnt Imagine having my vision gone like that. Your a brave man and a very strong one. I dont think I could live like that yet you do and you were brave enough to take off your glasses and show us how bad your vision really was. Youve got my support man.

    Everyone should respect you and everybody who have the courage of dealing with life like you do. I cannot comprehend those people that have a normal life and think that everything happens to them....they're weak and mentally challenged and some call that egocentrism...that's right...but stupidity too. Man, what you do is important to many people and is well done indeed. Keep going. About the videos with selfdescription...they are lessons of life, keep going too. Respect from Portugal!

    Good video!
    I agree it is no picnic to have a bad vision.
    When I was 3-4 years old I had to go thrue surgery on both my eyes because I had glaucoma and since then I have been wearing glasses, 22 years now.
    Its not easy not to have a good vision and I often tell people that your vision is the most precious thing you have.

    Whoever makes fun of you for having a bad eye sight isn't aware of their own problems. In fact, you probably utilize your other senses in a much better way than a regular person which is another thing that people aren't aware of.
    I really enjoyed your Mac Vs PC: Accessibility video and I thought it had a lot of important points in it that we probably won't be able to find out unless we were in your shoes.

    @rml695 I’m glad to hear you have vision not too bad with glasses, though 20/70 must still limit things a bit. No, my partner isn’t a Braille reader, as the correction is good with glasses, it would just be a problem in the case of mishap of losing glasses due to breakage whilst out doors, I just hope I would be there if this ever should happen.

    @jjovereats Your vision isn`t that bad. You can probably pass the eye exam when going for your learners. My vision, however, is 20/200 (6/60). Taking the exam myself, i couldn`t see any of the words, but i can still function normally without my glasses. I actually never really noticed how blurry things were until i got my glasses, sometime in late june or so.

  • @TheFri13

    Thanks, you just answered many the questions I have had in my mind since I got glasses about 7 months ago. I have very small (-1.5 and -0.75) nearsight what happened in one day with eye pain. I did not need glasses before that at all. And I have been wondering what range you actually can have glasses. I know one person who has -9.5 and she has very limited sight. I have never understanded what is so funny about people who needs glasses.

  • @rml695
    @rml695  16 лет назад

    Are you referring to glasses power or my acuity? I have no idea what my power is. For acuity, my left eye is 20/80 and my right is the non-seeing eye.

    Due to retinal detachment, there is NO visual perception in my right eye. No light perception, either.

  • @rml695
    @rml695  16 лет назад

    My vision was corrected through cryo surgery - I was born blind. When we found out the left eye was a success, since I was a guinea pig for this, the right eye's retina had already detached, and once that's gone you can't put it back.

    I don't remember if I responded to this, and if not I apologize for the long wait. My condition is so fragile that an operation would be too dangerous. We save them for absolute need (in other words, if we don't do it I"ll lose my vision type of thing). It was surgery that corrected my eyes to the way they are today, and the condition is fragile.

    My partner is eyesight minus 6 in both eyes and without glasses holds the large font mobile phone just 2 cam from eye... I think thats about 20/650 vision. For me as a partner wioth 20/20 it's upsetting to see this struggle, and I feel very deeply for anyone who has to totally rely on glasses. My partner is basically blind without glasses on and wouldnt really be able to walk down the street.

    Hi,
    I stepped upon your videos when I was browsing on RUclips and saw your face in the related videos section. My friend looks very similar to you and has the same type of vision. You look so similar, one might think you're identical twins. My eye sight isn't that good either which is why I sympathise with you.
    Having bad vision is not nice nor funny. It is a problem that people literally suffer from and should not be something to make fun of. Instead, be happy that your vision is ok.
