Great Dreams of Heaven is actually not a Ry Cooder song. He does play it on Into The Purple Valley, but his version is a cover of the song originally by Joseph Spence, the great Bahamanian virtuoso.
Very nice. You know I've seen/heard guys play this song, 2 on youtube and 1, a personal friend of mine. And all 3 played it flawlessly UNTIL the bridge. All 3 of them lost time at the exact same spot. I've come to the conclusion(knowing my friend like I do anyway) that they were not born and bred in 3/4 time. Probably 4/4 time rock and rollers. Just something I heard that I'll never forget. You nailed it tho. Great job. Great song. Great Dream.

I'm in total agreement with Valerio - by far the most accurate cover of Cooder's version. Beautifully played. Time for some more!
