I went to see Mr. Haumont's joint concert with my guitar master Tokio Uchida in Tokyo last year. It was not only beautiful but impressive. I liked this Mr. Picking very much so I have been practicing this tune since then

Original tune inspired by a photo of a rock in a dark and beautiful cave. The rock had a hole created by water drops, which must have taken a long long time. I felt as though not only water drops but time was acting upon the rock phisically.

Great Dreams of Heaven is actually not a Ry Cooder song. He does play it on Into The Purple Valley, but his version is a cover of the song originally by Joseph Spence, the great Bahamanian virtuoso.

Thank you Denis for your comment! It is a gibson but I forgot the model name. I owned the guitar a few years ago for only a few months because my interest shifted from American roots music to contemporary pop music to learn harmony and arrangement so I wanted more volume and resonance. Also the neck shape didn't fit my hand.

Very nice. You know I've seen/heard guys play this song, 2 on youtube and 1, a personal friend of mine. And all 3 played it flawlessly UNTIL the bridge. All 3 of them lost time at the exact same spot. I've come to the conclusion(knowing my friend like I do anyway) that they were not born and bred in 3/4 time. Probably 4/4 time rock and rollers. Just something I heard that I'll never forget. You nailed it tho. Great job. Great song. Great Dream.
