It looks FANtastic !!! That sure was a lot of nuts/bolts and screws…..geeeezzzzz Sure will be nice to sit out under that in all kinds of weather 👍👏🇺🇸 Rick
Love your video, I install these gazebos for Costco and they are a challenge for the average homeowner and you definitely needs some help and some days to install it. Awesome video.
Hey Jeremiah. That is beautiful. You guys did an amazing job putting this together. That takes a lot of work and patience. That is definitely a great summer hangout. Deck drinks are in order. Kenny
Dont install panels in the wind. Its like a sail boat...great advice. If you dont have help, brace the first panel with a long 2x4, about 12 feet. Then, what i did, install two 2x4s from one end to the other on top. Now lift your panels on these cross beams. From there one person can lift while other installs bolts. Im 60 years old and my wife is a 105 pound 62 year old. I did all of the work and she helped with panels. If we can do it anyone can. BTW we had 2 decent step ladders
I just put one of these Costco Grand Gazebos together. There are a few things you should know before buying one. The wood is extremely soft and feels like Balsa wood. Lightweight but easily damaged if you bump it. The instructions are garbage. The boards are numbered but the instructions don't always tell you what direction to place them. The labels on the screws have 2 different numbers, you might think you are using the # 7 flat pan screw head but in fact, you are using # 8. Look at the description of the screw and length carefully and don't always rely on the number. Size matters and double-check the screw lengths. Some of the boards use both 1 1/2 " and 1 1/4 " screws while others use 1 1/2" PAN head and 1 1/4 " WOOD screws. Things can get really confusing when you get to the part with the long sideboards with metal plates. Take your time. The placement of the hex head bolts is important. The head goes on the outside of the board. The roof design is a train wreck. The large roof panels have 2 centerboards ( 440 ), the instructions don't tell you what direction to place them. Do a dry fit first without screwing anything down. If I remember correctly the longest part of #440 after the notches goes toward the top. lastly, the roof panels won't always line up, not a big deal roll with it. It comes together at the end. Most importantly, this is not an easy build, on a scale from 1 - 10 in difficulty it ranks a # 7. If you've ever built a deck, dog house, and rebuilt a Chevy 350 you'll be fine. If the only thing you've built is a house in Minecraft then you are totally screwed. Invite friends to help and drink a lot, you'll need it.
LOl. "If the only thing you've built is a house in Minecraft" LOL. I love assembling this gazebo and yes you are correct with some things, but yes A dry fit never hurts, if its your first time installing.
This is a great tutorial… I’ve always heard it quicker the second time through 😜 😉 😊 Any interest in building 2nd one?😂😂. I’ve been looking at these for months now, though I have to get busy and finish the patio that it will sit on first. Have a great week Jeremiah!
It sure would be a lot easier the second time! I’m in you buy the beer🍻😂 It sure is nice you should definitely get one. I’m very impressed with it. Thanks you Brent👍👍
I just installed one of these gazebos, it’s June 16 2024. This is a very difficult project for the average person, we had a master carpenter and model maker for the auto/aerospace industry, a former general contractor, and two novices and it took us 13 hours to build. The instructions are barely adequate, be certain to double check the screw lengths before using them. I’d suggest having at least four or more people building this gazebo. Organize all the screws , brackets, wood, etc for easy access. Have multiple cordless drills and square tip bits, socket sets and wrench’s and ladders. My advice for this build…pay someone else to do it.
Yes they are bolted down with lag screws. It sure would take one heck of a wind to move it but it probably could happen… best to anchor it down. Thank you!!👍👍
Taking off the plastic covering on roof is brutal. There is a glue residue that will not come off. i did two panels and am now considering leaving the plastic on for the rest of the panels. Any suggestions?
I used lag screws. I was going to remove the decking and add more support at the spots the legs meet the deck, but it worked out that all 4 legs ended up lining up with the joists under the decking.
No I did not. The deck was built heavy enough to support a hot tub so I figured it would hold this. I was lucky enough that each leg came down right on top of a joist.👍
Jeremiah you got your work out for the day put it together. My buddy got one ☝️ on his lake property look good once put together buddy . Place for red Cardinals to held out into buddy. 👍🥃🥃 , don’t forget to stop 🛑 for a fresh lobster 🦞 sandwich 🥪 for $20 bone .
I just finished mine. The exact same one and I could not have done it without your video. Thank you so much, you are awesome!
That’s great to hear! I’m glad the video helped!!👍👍
God Bless you for putting this video together. Its a life savior 🙏
I am glad it helped!!👍

super!

I have seen those types of kits before, looks decent.
We are very pleased with it. Thank you Dave👍👍
@@outdoorsinthe608 awesome
I wish it only took 52:17 to build. Thought this kit had a standard rafter roof. I'm doing it with two and think its time to break out the scaffold.
Yeah me too! It definitely was a journey, but it can be done with two👍👍

Definitely can’t be in a hurry! Multiple people is a must for the roof install👍👍
No one must have been good at their job…..
If I could do it again, I could do it in half the time,
agree 100%! We tried to hire someone on Taskrabbit and didn't get any takers so we had to do it ourselves. Not a fun job. Instructions are horrible.
When will you add the pot belly stove? Sept to may in the 608 is a bit🌨️🥶
We got a patio heater!
Great video! Are the posts bolted to the deck? Do you think the gazebo would stay in place of it weren't bolted down at all?
Yes they are bolted down with lag screws. It sure would take one heck of a wind to move it but it probably could happen… best to anchor it down. Thank you!!👍👍
So how many cords of wood will it hold exactly???🤔
It sure turned out nice and was quite the project! Enjoy...👍
That that definitely crossed my mind Wayne!😂 Thank for watching👍👍
Great!! when did you screw the post on the floor? before installing roof? or the end?
At the end. It was the last thing I did in case something had to be moved. I wasn’t 100% sure it was going to fit.👍👍
How long did it take? I just bought same one
About 12 hours total.
@@outdoorsinthe608 thanks
I assume every hole is predrilled. What type/size of drill bits did you use? Awesome job.
Most holes are pre drilled, but some are not. The ones I drilled I used the provided 1/8” drill bit. Thank you!👍👍
Taking off the plastic covering on roof is brutal. There is a glue residue that will not come off. i did two panels and am now considering leaving the plastic on for the rest of the panels. Any suggestions?
Mine came right off without leaving residue. Is cold where you are doing it?
what length board did you use to prop up the roof panels?
I believe it was a 10’ 2x4.
How did You secure it to the bottom? I am considering doing the same as yours but have concerns about drilling base to the wooden deck.
I used lag screws. I was going to remove the decking and add more support at the spots the legs meet the deck, but it worked out that all 4 legs ended up lining up with the joists under the decking.
@@outdoorsinthe608 Thank you. Greatly appreciated.
Did you build extra support underneath the deck? I want to build a similar gazebo on my deck but I’m worried about the support is not enough
No I did not. The deck was built heavy enough to support a hot tub so I figured it would hold this. I was lucky enough that each leg came down right on top of a joist.👍

It was a lot of work but well worth it! I gotta get me one of these sandwiches!! Thank you Leonard👍👍
if you were going to guess about how many man hours did it take from start to finish
I had 12 hours myself not including the help with the roof. My guess would be about 18 hours…
