I think C2's Corvettes are the most beautiful Corvettes ever.
I agree with you!
I would agree. If not the best it is in the conversation. Definitely the most beautiful Vette hands down.
Yes it is. Proud owner of a 65 Stingray coupe.
It isn't just the car. It's the time period. Things were a lot easier and less complicated. Miss those days.
You're absolutely right, easier times and some great muscle cars back then. I sure miss those years growing up 😎👍
@@davidkucher5.0Coy I hear ya Dave. The music was great too.
Maybe for you but definitely wasn't a easier time for everyone.....
Forever Remain Nameless ...That can be said about ANY period in history , but if you try and just relax and not analyze it too literally you can understand the OP comment.
@@blueberrycobbler I'm as calm as one can be but i don't live in la la land i live in reality so i stand by my statement....people were and still are being denied civil rights but you go ahead and keep thinking about tht easier simpler time
As a European I'm usually a bit sniffy about American sports cars, but that is seriously sexy.
You have good taste my friend.
Protect that Vette at all costs. What a stunning machine!
AGREED
I’d take this over a c8 any day of the week!
Same here!
I prefer a hardtop and side pipes, but ermine white is right.
This might be the nicest-looking Corvette ever. The C8 is definitely cool, but the C2 is on another level of classy.
I am the son, and this ! this! was and will be , for always.... My Dream Car. I'm 52 years old and I was in love with that car forever since my father told me stories about his white 64 Mustang GT. 1960's cars are the best designs. My next one is a Thunderbird 64-66, the design is so elegant and stylished. The Corvette 1963 split window is my favorite, but that one will certainly fit my 6 feet 3 lenght. Love the way you present a car. I am new here. Stingray 63-67 is more than an American car, it is the most beautyfull machine. Was in haw when in full throtle. Thank you. Awsome!
Joe ,that white with those classic chrome wheels really shines like a star.Very very beautiful Corvette!!😁👍
I’m so glad you like it Christan.

one of my dream car to own, I could stare at that baby in my garage for hours. Beautiful car

Absolutely stunning. There aren't many cars that feeds your soul, this is one of them. Thank you Lori, beautiful video. So much fun to see the passion you have for the special ones, Joe!
She’s a beauty. Love that big block sound
I am so glad that you enjoyed this one David!
@@RaitisRides thanks. Classic cars rule. A 427 Vette will always raise my heart rate.
Love your RUclips channel. 👍👍👍👍👍
To be completely honest with you, I´m not a huge fan of the older cars and oldtimers, but the moment I saw this one, I fell in love with it. Thanks Joe for bringing it to us!!👍🏽
I am so glad that I can bring you the variety!
Joe, this is a beautiful car. I owned an original 327 '68 convertible. My friend still owns one of these '66 coupes. Better looking than any AC Cobra. Great review pisano.
That is so awesome!
Thanks Pisano!
@@RaitisRides Wish I still had the '68 Joe. I sold it in 1980 for $8000....originally paid $4800 in 1978. Went to Italy with the proceeds back in 1980! ha ha
A blast from the past. Joe, I grew up watching Route 66 and this brought back great memories! Thank you for hitting the way back machine!👍💖🏁
That is so very awesome!
@@RaitisRides PS- I know this came out 2 years after the show ended. It's the memories this one evoked.
I actually drove one of these amazing corvettes in 1969 when I was working at a car lot in West York, Pa. Ruth Motor Sales. They had all the best muscle cars of the era all the time for sale there. Couldn’t get any better!
The new Vettes can't hold a candle to this car. Gorgeous!! (Even the Chrome!) Even the size and rake of the windshield is great. Wow.... Classic for a reason!
I totally agree with you John!
I respect your opinion but disagree. The C8 performs faster, handles better and i sexier
Met a guy with a 72 vette Saturday. I thought its styling was real nice, but this is a real beauty.
Love this beast. Thanks for showing this off for a good cause Joe. Hope it can join my garage!
Fingers crossed Ford!
Yooooooooooow whaaaaaaaaaat!!!! This Gen 2 Corvette is/was the thing of dreams!!! I had about five wall posters of it while growing up!!! Absolutely a legend!!! Probably one of the prettiest car I've ever seen! Sleek and sexy af
I am so so glad that I could share it with you!
My god, other than a Spyker, the just don't make interiors that gorgeous anymore! Why don't they? So quality and beautiful!!
Joe...I’m envisioning a split cam....one on the road of your test drive...and another on the speed-o. Hahahahahahah 30 MPH zone, and you almost doubled it in first gear. Man that looked fun.
I was about 16 years old when a friends dad took me out in his ‘66, 427. I got scared at 160... and said so...and his dad slowed down. To this day, the fastest I’ve ever gone in a car. Nice job Lori...Joe. As always. Enjoy the warmth of Florida...we got cold coming up here in Minnesota.
I like the idea that there is no proof! LOL
Thanks for giving Lori a shoutout and take you for sharing that great story!
The time before super chargers and turbo chargers! Times have changed that’s for sure!
Thanks for taking us for a ride in that sweet 1966 Joe! Awesome video work Lori. I own a 1970 Corvette but that '66 looks, sounds, and apparently drives awesome. By the way, just used your promo code. Wish me luck! Hope one of us here win it! 🇺🇸🏁
Thanks for bringing the classics to us Joe! Lori thanks for the fabulous camera work!!! 👍
Thanks Louis!
Love the ‘66 and ‘67 Vettes! This one would look good with the stinger hood section painted in navy blue to match the interior. Thanks for sharing it and the ride Joe. Nice job! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
That would look awesome! Thanks for taking the ride with me.
Absolutely gorgeous
I am so glad that you are digging this one.

@@joskjj3625 You got it brother!
All I wanna do is put in a Beach Boys cassette and cruise down the PCH.
I like the way that you think.
Hey Joe, you doing a great job. Would love to see more old car reviews, very few people do them well. The only thing I would add is maybe a mention about the ride and handling, breaking, and if the old car has any noticeable squeaks and rattles.
There are way better good looking corvettes out there...…..just not as good looking as this one!
Very well said!
Nostalgia blinding people with delusion.
One Classic video Joe! Damn that 66 Vette is just a eternal beauty that just never ages. Great filming showing off this awesome 66.
Joe take it down Route 66!
I would love to do that! Thanks for letting me share this one with you!
Wow, wow, wow!! The C2 has always been my favorite Corvette. When ever I hear "posi traction," I think of "My Cousin Vinny." 🤦♂️
Incredible what those cars are now worth.
I am so glad that I could bring this one to you! I love that scene from My Cousin Vinny!
NOTHING beats the split window manna ray vett!
You are so very right about that.
Really like your reviews. I think I like the ones on these vintage cars the best. Your reviews on the 6 Gen Camaro helped me decide to get a 2020 SS 1LE this last summer. I can’t wait to get it back on the road this spring/summer.
Keep up the great reviews.
Thanks Shaun for taking the time to say that! I really appreciate your support!
Oh my! That front end lifted with every shift. Just like the SQ7.
Hi Zonkman, love the Corvette because even though 8t had lacked in technology, safety technology, backup camera, and powerful motors by today's standards love the videos and even though cars from long ago lacked in Turbo by today's standards it looks nice it was a dandy.
she’s old but still fast. classic!!!
💯 brother!
What a gorgeous vehicle.
I am so glad that I could bring it to you!
14:21 that engine sounds so unique, and works so well with the car
$5,000 dollars?!?! I wish it was still like that.
Times have changed.
@@RaitisRides indeed they have.
The dash and interior designs are better in this C2 than any other newer Vette saved for the new C8!! What an incredible machine. My favorite is still the '63 Split Window though
Corvettes today are more expensive by a long shot. $5000 in 1966 is just over 40K in today's money. The lowest optioned C8 convertible is 67K + for 2021. Comparitivly speaking the Corvette is much more expensive now than back then. I am willing to bet this is true with all cars. People pay these ridiculous prices so all manufacturers just increase the price every year. They could probably charge a lot less on vehicles and still make a killing. End rant. On a side note. I don't know that I will see the C8 as being as sought after as the C2. There will be way over 27000 of those. But I guess only time will tell. Great video Joe. Well done!
Great video. Best color for this best of all cars ever! My 1966 427 is also white with dark blue leather interior. But mine is the 425 HP version with mechanical lifters. The mechanical Joy of my life. Had one also back in 1988...and a flight student at Ft Rucker. So I had two in my life. This one is Bloomington Gold Top Flight
Some things are timeless. This car will remain beautiful for a very long time..
What a Badass car 🔥
You better believe it!
All you need is a flight suit and some aviators and you could pretend you were a hotshot pilot turned astronaut back in the day.
So very spot on!
The C8 styling design is based off the F22 and F35 fighters.
What an amazing car that was such a huge part of the muscle car days. Great review. Keep the reviews rolling our way..
That sweet little thing is a beaut. I’m sure in 55 years, the C8 will be just as desirable
It will be interesting to see how it will pan out!
I would't put money on it....lol!! It isn't just the car, it's the time period.
@@RaitisRides this is the car you need to drive from Tampa to Los Angeles
@@VIDEOHEREBOB that is a great way at looking at it.
In my youth I owned a big block 70 Camaro SS but this car got me to such an excitement level, I could feel that motor. I would take that over any other muscle/sport car in this or any generation. Joe, thanks for that memory.
Hi Joe. As a person from EU who loves classic american cars from 60-70s :) could you do more classic cars please? Would love to see 64 Chevy Impala :) Thank you
Will do my friend!
Would be funny if there's space for snacks.
I know right!
Idk if its just me but when I drive old cars they somehow feel smoother, the driving experience feels much more enjoyable for some reason.
That is a very good point Tensa!
A ride on a unicorn. Fantastic. I like c3’s (75-77, 82) and c4’s (Grand Sport and ZR1) best, don’t mind a well kept C5. What I want to know is, did you enjoy the drive as much as we enjoyed watching you take it? Thanks for the best car video I have seen today. Cheers.
It's awesome how you create your videos in only a few takes!
Wonderful sound of it winding out, even at a leisurely pace
Aye Joe thanks for the review man. There's not a lot of reviews for cars like this out there. I'm drooling like a bulldog.
The C8 has a chance to become a classic because of the changes that have been made to that car...Nice video JOE
I swear, Joe, you are inside my thoughts. Currently in the market for a C6 and BAM
nope! give me that 66 joe!

The 66 hands down if it's retro modded.

Another great video!! Love the classic Mid Year Corvette design.
Even if it’s underrated. 390 HP?!? That’s crazy!!!!
Love this car! Beautiful!
You have great taste!
I regularly drove a red/red 66 Vette with the 327c.i.d./350bhp, 4speed and LOVED it!
Hey Joe,
Those iconic split front bumpers are called Bumperettes. And no one ever heard of the Mako Shark until the C3 show car.
You see Joe I’m sixteen years old and because of your videos I have many choices of which kind of vehicle that is best for me so I want to thank you for sharing all those amazing cars that you are reviewing for us.

It's a beast!
Great video Joe, wonderful car great memories. How'd you like to own that little piece of history to buss around town Lori? 😎👍
It would be a dream for sure:
The C8 will definitely be Iconic as the Corvette 427, the C8 is probably the best Corvette ever made, GM did an awesome job with the C8, GM might make an SUV version of the Corvette! Great Video Joe!

Corvette let’s go very entertaining to watch
Beautiful car and great video ❤❤
No, the C8 will never be as iconic as the C2. A lot of people think that the C2 is the most beautiful Corvette ever made, even today. Imagine it is 1963 and everyone is driving these huge square and quite strange vehicles (by todays standards) and you come out with this car. This car is like driving today a flying saucer in the middle of the highway, it was that outrageous. There were very few vehicles in 1963 that styling wise could even compare. Performance wise, by 1967 you had the L71 427/435 and the L88 427/430, nothing built by anyone in 1967 could match them (except the very limited production 427 Cobra) , not Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche or anyone else could keep up. Back in the 60's Ferrari's and Lambo's were extremely rare vehicles, it is not like today. The impact the C2 had was like nothing we have seen before or since. Styling and performance was out of this world by 1963-1967 standards. By many metrics the C2 and early C3's were the standards of the world, they were not perfect by any means, but they were as good as it got in many respects in the 60's.
Today there are a ton of vehicles that will outperform the C8, and there is another ton that have better styling. The C8 is a high watermark for Corvette because of the mid-engine configuration, and because of the price for performance value, but it is not a world beater. Maybe when a ZR1 version comes out it will be a different story... But that will be 2-3 years down the road, and the exotics will be that much more ahead by then.
