You're so correct. At any age we can still get inspired and I must say this is what I need so much since my husband's death. I went to a bereavement club, hoping to benefit from it, but I felt much worse at the end of it. The problem was that everyone there was feeling as bad as I was feeling and we've made each other more depressed. What we needed were some positive stories of recovery, and maybe some tangible help, like sharing names of good plumbers , electricians or similar, as it's difficult to cope on your own when you feel so terribly depressed. Every time I see a program about blind people I feel so immensely grateful for my sight and sometimes I try to close my eyes and I try to walk around my house. We have to appreciate everything we have, instead of complaining about the things we don't have. My list of things I'm grateful is so long, but I just didn't realise that. Other people's wish list items, are on my " grateful for list" and knowing this can change our lives. ❤
Universal Design. Absolutely a phenomenal concept in architecture and construction. How wonderful ❤️ and an absolute apex of goal for those industries. This man is a champion .
When an architect names his son Renzo other architects automatically know what style he admires. :) Total admiration for this man. He makes it look a lot easier than it is. My sister went blind from diabetes and she too learned to adapt and live her best life. But it is not simple or easy to reach that place.
In 2015 I suffered a detached retina! The worst day of my life! I had no idea what I was up too! It took about year and a half for surgery, 4 of them! I didn’t lose my sight but there’s something that didn’t heal correct.
My husband has stargardz and has been losing sight for over 30 yrs. He is an amazing man who doesn’t let anything stop him He is lucky now to have a guide dog who helps him navigate his way around the street and shops. Be brave be strong there is not anything you can not do you just have to find away around it. Good luck. Annamieke from NZ
My mom had RP retinitis pigmentosa & was completely blind. My dad went blind from macular degeneration. It was a trip taking them out and about town. Oh and they were both deaf. Haha! Life was very interesting. Hearing aids didn't work either. I had a great time taking care of them.
I'm glad that they found peace with their disabilities. I couldn't imagine, inknow that ut would be hard. I know it doesn't compare but I lost my sense of smell/taste three years ago from COVID even though I never even felt sick, i just knownthats a symptom and what happened to me. It's harder some days than others 🙏🏻
The technique of using grooved tiles on a sidewalk or hallway has been used in Japan since WWII. they’re everywhere. I assume that he contacted other countries to see how they accommodate the blind. Hopefully, there is a sharing of ideas.
I too have a differnt view in life. I am a visually impaired individual aka blind. I have retinal detachment and cataracts and I write books. I am a PSSober Coach that dies Inventions, a Learning Coach tutoring online and off. Just because iur eyes stop working does not equal brains, arms and other body parts stop. I am alone. I am my support system, i am the cheerleader coaching and cheering❤ I love my choices to help but s o m e t i m e s we too need cheering. It is very isolating seeing gray, not complet darkness. I dont know what God has in store for me bause I lost my apt due to losing a housemate, lost my guide dog because he protected me and Reno deemed him dangerous. My adult children, well they have no desire to care for me even could be paid by Freedom Care just the way they are i suppose. I push through only with Gods grace but sure would love to hang with others who do not have sight. Thank you for reading ❤

Just because someone has a physical disability does not mean he or she cannot be the most qualified. Your question assumes people with disabilities cannot be competitive. Perhaps businesses just need to be less discriminating!
DEI is horrible. I am blind. I have hundreds of blind friends. Many of them now get jobs in the federal government that they are in no way near qualified to do just because they’re blind.
