This is the best demo of this guitar I’ve seen, makes me want to get one! Really enjoy your playing.
The sound you're able to pull out of those single-coils is just...perfect. Great demo.
Great review RJ!!! Thank you. I bought the Fiore after seeing your review (and one other) and popped back over to comment. It is my fav guitar, so versatile.
The bottom tone control, when pulled, does not split the humbucker. It switches the coils from series to parallel. Parallel mode retains noise-canceling properties of the dual coil. Splitting the coils does not.
Best demo I've seen yet. Thanks
Amazing demo, incredible playing & excellent guitar!
As usual, beautiful tasteful playing. Some much style!
An impeccable little jam!
I like when you do demos RJ!!!
Wow, that sounds great!
Awesome guitar and incredible playing!
Sounding good R.J! Cheers!!
Definitely a step ahead of the Silver Sky.
I wouldn't say that, just different models. The Silver Sky is meant to be a standard, three single coil S guitar. This model is its own thing.
Another silver sky hater here.
@@20cmusic I'm not a hater, but not a sucker either.
@@francho123 I know this wasn't in reply to my message, but not sure I get your point here? Are you saying people that get the Silver Sky are suckers because the Fiore is better?
@@scottmoreau3478 for a strat style PRS, I personally think the Fiore is improvement over the SS. Does it make me a hater of the SS? of course not!!! I am just not going to say that I prefer the SS if I don't. Doing so would make me a sucker, which again I'm not. Also, I don't think you are a sucker for prefering the SS. That is your preference!
Looks amazing in Black Iris!
killer jams!
Sounds great! Very Strat like but still it’s own thing. Nice demo 🥳
The wiring on that thing is amazing! So many variations. That’s why I love HSS setups. This takes it to another level with the push pulls.... How do those pickups compare to the Lollars in your strat?
wow, i really enjoyed your playing
Nice improv over the changes!
great playing sir
Excellent as always, Thanks. You make this guitar shine. The Strat tones are out of bounds in all five positons. Question Please; I know you are a Jimi Hendrix guy (as am I), how do you feel about this guitar from achieving the Jimi hendrix tones? Thanks
Looks killer in black.
WOW! you sound quite inspired here.
Sweet guitar
Hello, awesome review ! Love it 👌. Have a few questions as I am a P90 style G style guitar love ....Isn’t the nut too thin ? I love 42-43 mm at nut ? Let me know what you think and if the single coils aren’t too thin and clear. I love fat sounding single coils...thanks for your answer and help. Cheers from France
What if I want a good day?
Listen to R.J.
Just wondered if you can get a strat quack tone as good as a strat in position 2 Bridge/middle? thanks, alex
Sounds great man, did you have any issues with the volume knob being so close to the pickup?
Hey u should do this with the red fiore next. Thanks
How do you like the 10" radius. Love the guitar but not sure the neck radius would work for me.
I really want to know what is your opinion about the guitar...
is it a very good super strat?
I would like to see PRS bring back the DC3.
There is talk at PRS of doing just that.
HSS is the way
any idea how you would compare this to the prs studio
U good RJ.
I WISH THE HEADSTOCK IS DIFFERENT, LOOK PRETTY DATED TO ME ...THE REST LOOKS COOL IMHO, THE GUITAR SOUNDS GREAT AND R.J PLAYS SO GOOD!
A year after the video being released, do you still have the fiero? If so...what's the verdict? Keeper?
A neat sounding offering from PRS. I just wish that I'd be able to find a PRS model that feels familiar to me and comfortable enough to justify getting one. I've handled and played many: They're really great, and the construction and tone palettes on the ones that I've played were great, they just don't feel that great in my hands.
I agree with you. I wasn't a fan of any of their necks. That's why I stick with Charvel/Jackson
Same, I’ve only like Santana necks but i want some single coils
Honestly they do offer a pretty wide variety of necks, I think the trick is people who arent PRS players have played non-PRS guitars for so long you truly need a week to get used to whats new to you. That being said it also could just not be your thing, but after time, I found I enjoy their necks more than most.
@@th3m1ke Have you played any Charvel's? Once you do it's hard to play other stuff. They make the most comfortable necks on the planet
you got hobbit hands ?
How does the neck feel?
Sarap naman ng pitik mo sa gitarang yan pards! :)
I think the one issue I have with this model is that for many players, including myself, it checks all the boxes, but they made it look too 80's. I get that it's a signature model but all I can think about is Music Man/Steve Lukather. At times, I do like the red or white models but that bleached looking fretboard is just a no go for me. I really hope this model becomes a success and they decide to add more colours and/or a rosewood/roasted maple fretboard.
Do know how much it weighs
I hope this thing can do some old EVH tones. I’ve looked and looked but no one is really doing that with their samples. I’m receiving this one today and I play a bit heavier.
Does it do EVH?
Yes!! So I normally play through a 100 watt Fireball. I had to leave the lead channel and go to the clean channel, crank the gain up to 10, stomp on my chorus and OCD pedal and it was close enough. I'v since sold that guitar though (gotta keep on the search for the ultimate axe) but it was a great guitar.
Is the humbucker “split” with the lower Push-pull pot or taken “out of phase”? My understanding from the PRS introduction video was “out of phase”.
No, the pull-pot places the coils in parallel. Most all dual-coil humbuckers are wired in series. Pulling the bottom pot up changes the pickup's operation from series to parallel. Unlike a split, parallel operation provides a single-coil tone but retains the noise-canceling properties of a dual-coil pickup.
I love how, even when you’re playing “smooth jazz” type music, it’s still mean af
You play this guitar very well!
great sound.. this guitar, imo, is meant for jazz rock genre..
In most pics I've seen of the Black Iris ,it looks like it has a black cherry look to it. Does it look like that in person?
Most of the time it looks black, but especially with artifical lightning up close to it, it has that purple/cherry hue.
@@lucelluu Hi, I have one. I ordered it the day it was launched. Mine does not look any other color than Black under any lighting. I was going to return it,but alot of other owners said the same thing as I'm saying,so I played it for about 3 hours after leaving it in it's gigbag for over a month without touching it, and I fell in love with the sound of those pickups and the neck/playability. I don't gig with it because I don't want anything to happen to it ,but I absolutely love that guitar. I overcame the issue with the color..Thanks for your reply my friend. Have a great day,Luis
In no particular order of preference, the best guitarists on RUclips are probably R.J. and Tom Quayle.
Toms in a different league IMO
I’m unclear on the neck girth from any reviews I’m seeing but I’m assuming it’s a 50’s D/U shape, almost Batty?
I would say D but not super fat, at least on my model. Very comfortable and satin finish. 😊
PRS should just go ahead and make a Tele now 😉👍
It's in work.
Um wheres the review part of the video?
This vid is entitled “Demo and Review,” and RJ promises to make review comments early on.
However, there i# NO REVIEW WHATSOEVER, even in the links. So this was largely a waste of time
(although RJ’s playin* was masterful as ever).
Hey RJ: here are son3 suggestions for improving your videos:
1). Tell us what you’re playing through (amps, etc,
2) and If there are any pedals or processors in the chain
3) put text on screen which states what pickups you’re on
4) tell us when you’re playing a crutch, OD, o4 distortion tone, preferably
with onscreen texts
5) please provide reviews ew comments.
But, in all, you’re the best. Love your jams and the tones you achieve.
Just from hearing marks playing with his Grosh- I still think it has better tone than these..just watch his multi guitar clips and the Grosh stands out above all for glorious tone.
its a strat
Mr Smith (Paul), please offer an SE VER$ION please!! 🧐 🤗
Sounds a bit thin. Prefer a fender tbf
I thought he was a Strat player primarily
It practically is a strat
@@jdl2180 Lol nope
Check his collection. He literally has something like twenty guitars.
@@scottmoreau3478 Ok.... When I was watching him on RUclips 10 years ago he just played Strats
@@Stringprodigy Yeah, his main guitar is a Grosh Strat, but it's just not the only type of guitar that he plays.
well???????????
It's a Strat.
I love the sound lol but I can’t get over a s-style guitar without a pickguard
I couldn’t agree with you more. Tom Anderson’s S style guitars are the only I’ve seen without a pickgaurd that I really love! I’ve also never played a bad Tom Anderson regardless of style.
Strat style guitars just don’t look right without a pickguard
