    All of this is just so inspiring. As someone who only got into this a couple of years ago, it's amazing to see year over year the improvements that are coming to Unreal.

    Not sure if you notice as an animator, but I've noticed that there isn't much variety in walking/running animations. People don't move the same way every time in real life, but this still has not translated over to video games.

    • @liampugh
      @liampugh 5 месяцев назад

      It’s because good animation takes time, even from the pros. Multiple walk/run cycles are usually developed for every game but to have enough to get the illusion that everyone walks differently would not only be very expensive but also much more difficult for the game engine to run. It’s a lot easier for it to think about 8 run cycles instead of 100.

    But in my own opinion UE5.4 still don't beat rage 8. Lots of these features already exist in red dead redemption 2.

      rage 9 might go toe to toe with ue5 but the older version in rdr2 cannot compete with ue5.3 in terms of overall graphical quality

    Yeah, that Metahuman has got some Botox face going on, but it does show how tech is reaching the point where high quality asset creation will be available to everyone, which can only be a good thing. People with good skills and creativity will always be in demand for actually making good games with these tools, and this shows a potential for breaking the big corporations' hold on those people and their ideas, and give them the freedom to work without interference from the suits. Of course, this demo was made by one of those corpo's, but the tech itself will inevitably become more widespread.

      I think on console it won't look as good as when the PC version will be released, just look at GTA 5 in 2013 vs the next gen version, the graphics, in this case the reflections from raytracing and other effects looks better and have a higher frame rate

    • @YorkReacts
      @YorkReacts  6 месяцев назад

      They have been working on that

    • @themightyflog
      @themightyflog 6 месяцев назад

      It looks like it is built in. I was seeing the greyed out, wireframe body being shown while working with it and it looks like it is built into it already but they just have to flip it on. For now it is having to jerry rig and be high tech to get away from the standard body. So sad they haven't done it yet and they haven't seemed to address or announce anything. Been looking for news about this. Should have been easy. They are still forcing the ugly sandles on the character as well and it has been out 3 years with all this cool face tech now and now swapping clothes but still same body syndrome which is probably easier to implement than the face. I hope soon.

    Why cant they just use A.I to create a system that automatically makes your character even though you are controlling him has his own environment awareness for example. When your running you dont just run straight into a trash can or fire hydrant. Your character will automatically trip or fall or stumble automatically depending on the environment and whats in it get what Im saying?

    • @YorkReacts
      @YorkReacts  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yup they have that already hah I think they implemented something like this in last of us. When you get close to a wall he puts his hand up on the wall ect but that was the 1st implementation of something like that I could remember. It’s getting more complex now but I don’t think any games are using full Ai animations to make it work they are still using animations created by a human mocapped ect and then blending them in game using an Ai type coding and system

    I've never played this game before. But I'm a sucker for good graphics and detail. The way Arthur on RDR2 moves his body and head from getting smacked by branches from the trees still blows my mind away.
    Also the the way Ellie from The Last of Us Part 2 fixes her weapons at the work bench.
    Just imagine 10 to 20 years from now. Games are gonna be mind-blowing.
    Can't wait to see how good GTA 6 will look and how bad ass the level of detail will be in that game. No wonder they are making a PS5 Pro. We're probably gonna have to buy the PS5 Pro if we wanna see GTA 6 full potential. But I don't mind seeing pop ins and load times being slower. So I might wait on getting the PS5 Pro.
    But I am a sucker for seeing the best. So I'll most likely be buying the Pro on launch day 🤣
    I'm so glad to be around in this generation. Sorry to those who were born 150 years or more ago, lmao.

      Even VR is a really cool experience. I own the first PS VR and don't ever use it. But that's because of the headaches I get from it, haha. Other than that, it was the best experience to feel scared out of your mind playing RE7. That was seriously breathtaking. I really felt like I was in that creepy ass house and feeling my heart pounding like the police do when they come knocking, haha.
      One of these days, York, you should do a VR stream playing some RE7. Would love to see u scream like a Lil girl like I did 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

    That part of the demo isn’t about the standard Unreal Engine. That was all about UEFN Unreal Engine for Fortnite. It’s a separate thing from the regular engine. It’s like a metaverse for people to create their own Fortnite experiences.

      @YorkReacts UEFN is a more restricted version of unreal engine for fortnite experiences. As an animator you should more be looking at motion matching on UE5.4 which they announced is production ready for UE not UEFN. Infact you should rename this video as UEFN Reaction and make a new one for the real UE 5.4.

      Ahhhhh probably not lol 😂 but that’s just by educated guess per say. But who knows maybe their game engine has new tricks up it’s sleeve and took some notes and pages ect from how some of the new Unreal engine tech works like nanite and if Rockstar can figure out new methods of optimization then who knows maybe we will get a true 60fps running GTAVI on release day. One can only hope fingers crossed 🤞
