I listened to this song last July for the first time, I discovered the meaning of the song is about losing someone, I listened to this song almost everyday, until my dad died due to Covid in the same month. So whenever I listened to this song, It reminds me of my dad. Love you dad, 25/07/2021.
I feel you, I lost my dad on April 2020 'cos by the age of 83, this song reminds me a lot of him, I miss him so much, but we must carry on. Be brave as your dad did, you can do it

Everytime you start to miss him, listen to this beautiful song, it will help to make things just that little bit easier. Much love to you ❤
The contrast of his voice and the music reminds me of hospital for souls. This song is so powerful, a masterpiece Congrats on the album. BMTH you got it right one more time
The more I listen to this album, the more I am falling in love with it. BMTH deserve nothing but credit for venturing beyond what they've become known for, it's amazing seeing bands trying out something new. Why they get hate I have no clue, if you don't enjoy it just don't listen to it. Everything they create sounds rad as hell to me, so here's to many more awesome creations!
Lost my dad on September 23th last year because of lung cancer. I don't really know what to say before he passed away. I lost the chance to say goodbye because i was too scared to say anything. This song means a world to me as an artist and as a person who lost their loved ones. Thank you so much for this beautiful masterpiece.
I can't even begin to describe the role this song has played in getting through my own cancer journey. Four days off surgery for it to finally be over and I've circled right back to here. Grateful to have had this song!
I was rewatching Live At the Royal Albert Hall and near the end Oli says : "My childhood friend, Aidan, is here today. He's just overcome bone cancer". So unfortunately, at some point he won against the disease, but it came back, since I Don't Know What To Say is about his passing :(
My boyfriend died of cancer about two years ago. We had BMTH as a common interest and after he died I couldn't listen to their old stuff anymore. But this album and this particular song makes me feel better. ❤
This album is a masterpiece. This is Bring Me The Horizon's Dark Side Of The Moon, from start to finish this album ties up brilliantly. Hands down my personal favorite BMTH album alongside Sempiternal and That's The Spirit.
let’s not get ahead of ourselves i like amo as much as the next guy, but you can’t just compare one of the biggest, revolutionary rock albums of all time to _this_
@@leonsalgeuro The comparison comes from a place of experimentation, not quality. Amo is BMTH's DSOTM because of it's "out there" choices in songwritting and how the album is tied as a whole . I do agree with you that they are not on the same realm musically speaking. One album relies on electro pop experimentation, the other on more progressive sounds. Dark Side Of The Moon is and will always be an untouchable masterpiece but I more often than not use it as a point of reference or standard to compare to other albums in terms of how x or y record feels cohesively and the atmosphere it brings to the table for the listener.
Bring Me The Horizon has given us all so much they probably don’t know the extent of it but I think it’s time we give them something back..our love and support and to be there for them as they were for us all these years. Just listen and enjoy
I didn't appreciate this album when it came out...not like I do now. I listen to every single day now. The story behind this song...I have a moment every time I hear it now. It's so beautiful. 🥲
This makes me so emotional. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who has to go thru this kind of pain, it's good to know that I'm not alone.. I lost my best friend 5 years ago, this song means a lot to me. I feel so connected to it..
Orchestra and rock always blend together so well. Such a heartfelt tribute to Aidan, and all those who have been lost to cancer. What a perfect way to end off the amazing album of Amo.
I'm a couple years older than the members in the band, and I LITERALLY have never in my life woken up and been excited to listen to an album like this. From front to end. Wake up, put it on on the way to work, can't wait to get off to listen to it on the way home, and then listen to it when I'm home. This album is fucking amazing. Or I've just lost the plot. Either one is fine with me.

I don't know how to explain it, but I feel that the people who really delved into Amo understand it, this album is totally something else. It is simply wonderful and I know that there will be someone else who understands the whole vibe and atmosphere that exists around this album and in every detail of each song. Simply incredible.
without a doubt the best song off this album. absolute perfection from haunting composition to breathtaking execution and lyrics. definitely one the greatest songs bmth has created out of all 4 albums (since i started listening to them).
i love how the whole album alludes and talks about love (amo), however the final track is directly talking about true love for someone who has passed away. amazing song.
Never have I heard this topic dealt with in song quite so brilliantly. The lyrics are, frankly, perfection. The emotion in the strings, the brutal, completely un-caring guitar solo, the complete love that comes across for the person the song was written about, it just hits the feeling perfectly. Anyone who's lost someone to a long, ravaging illness knows these feelings, and Oli and the band managed to not only capture that essence but make an absolutely gorgeous tribute to it. Best song on the album, possibly one of their best songs, and imo one of the best songs of all time.
Agreed, when the album first came out I wouldn't even give it a chance, but now I totally get it. This is probably my favourite song by these guys, everything about it is perfect
Before I found out about Aiden, I thought this song was about a lost love, and the sadness and emptiness got through to me, along with the gentle courage. I have had so many set backs, including grief, and " I can die but I can't break" really speaks to me. Hope we all make gold out of the pain
Always fun to see my old comments. Since then my partner got abusive, I got married and divorced and now I'm going through a cancer scare. I suppose this time around "Make gold out of the pain" feels most fitting. Thank God for music because I'm half crying in the toilets and half numbing out most days trying to do well enough at work they'll consider extending my contract. Hope I can come back here again in a few years with better news. This song still makes me feel deep and somehow hopeful after all these years.
Lyrics are so fuckin’ strong and deep, and you can feel Oli’s feelings while he sings. Such a great tune. Also cheers up for Lee who played the best guitar solo i heard this year, fuckin’ brilliant and powerful
you can tell this album was so personal to oliver. whether its the songs about hannah, or this song about his friend aidan, every song in the album seems to have come from a different part of his mind. i love this so much.
My best friend Mark passed away at 24. He had a massive heart attack during a seizure. His parents asked me to pick all of the music for his funeral and give his eulogy. As you know, I didn’t know what to say... I saw you guys for the first time one year later at Welcome to Rockville, and this song has helped me vent my emotions in a healthy way since then. Thank you.
The thing that I absolutely love about this band is that they have created music that cuts deep into my soul and can penetrate my cold and hardened exterior to remind me what it means to feel and for some godforsaken reason this band always creates music that can accurately portray how I feel and put words to emotions I don’t know how to describe!!! I’ve grown up and matured while continuously listening to BMTH and I must say that I love how their music has also grown and matured right along with me! I am a fan because they aren’t afraid to experiment with new sounds and themes and continue to push the envelope and blur the lines between genres, honestly creating a sound and musical experience that can only be described as BRING ME THE HORIZON! If you don’t appreciate their creativity and don’t understand the direction that “Amo” went and refuse to have an open mind and realize that they are true artist and create some of the best sounding, deeply personal and emotional music around today, then they were never the band for you!!!
Just discovered this song today. On my 10th listen today while writing this. This right here is on equal level with Guns & Roses November Rain.... it's been said, and I'm not taking it back. This is my standing ovation to every single person who had a hand in this song. 🤘
It’s not that often that music hits me so hard that I am brought to tears... BMTH is the one bands that when I relate to a song it destroys me!!! Thank you for reminding me what it’s like to feel!!!

Anyone who truly knows bring me- knows this is another instant classic
Exactly, and this album is full of them imo
Agreed. In time I know this will become one of my favorites along with other BMTH emotional powerhouses like Don't Go and Hospital For Souls.
CynicalIdealist literal facts.
Nick Menendez Yep
Totally agree. It's this album's DOOMED.
The strings and acoustic guitars are really nice!
Yeah really nice for fall out boy...

I really fucking want this done in the Royal Albert Hall with the orchestra!
Acoustic bmth is the best bmth don't @ me
Lost my grandad yesterday to cancer, he's been my best mate for 30 years. Listening to your music is keeping me going right now, watching loved ones in pain knowing there's nothing you can do is one of the most heartbreaking things ever. Thankyou for the music and the emotions ❤️
This is my absolute favorite song on the album, hands down. Everything about this song is good. The weird electronic voice echoing in the background, the beautiful violin and acoustic guitar, Matts kick ass drum beat, that guitar solo at the end, the story. Everything. This song is dripping with emotion, love it so much. i dont know what else to say
My mother was diagnosed with cancer and listening to Drown from the orchestral show used to help me. It made me cry but it was for good reasons.
Then I hear this and you find out what happened. Cancer hasn't won. RIP Aiden.
I hope your mother pulls through.
Only love for you both♥️♥️
i hope your mom gets healthy soon ♥️ the battle isn’t lost until it’s over

The album is actually better than I thought. It had 2 low spots for me but honestly I'm extremely happy with it. I'll definitely listen and buy the whole album.
@RUclips Commentor Mother Toung and MEDICINE. Eventually they grew on me and I learned to like em but that pop vibe still kinda gets me from time to time.
@RUclips Commentor Wonderful life is amazing though
@RUclips Commentor Even if it has little to bounce on, everyone still knows IT HAS BOUNCE.
i wish every comment section was this respectful
Doboykid26 The only two low points for this album is Ouch and Fresh Bruises for me. The other songs are pretty damn good but my favorites are this song, In The Dark, and I apologize if you feel something.
God AMO would be so fucking perfect preformed live and with a Orchestra.
An example of that would be this song.
Edit: it’s also the reason why I think BMTH is so unique and in my opinion so perfect. I hope they preform live again and at the Royal Albert Hall Again.
Stephen Reed imagine nihilist blues with an orchestra LOL
TheIndigenousGuy imagine “why you gotta kick me when im down” played live and with a orchestra
Fucking lucky British man you are. XD I've been in Royal when I visited UK. I saw the filarmonic, It was cool!
Is that spongebob with sephiroth hair and sword?
Roy yes.
Sephirbob.
This has me in tears. Personal to anyone whose lost someone to cancer.
Same here. Stay strong.
Be brave as your dad did, you can do it
I'm so sorry for your loss of your beloved dad. Even though he, isn't here physically, he will always be there with you in sprit. Im glad that you have this song to remind you of him. Everytime you start to miss him, listen to this beautiful song, it will help to make things just that little bit easier. Much love to you ❤
they've outdone themselves with this one
I AM THE OCEAN I AM THE SEA THERE IS A WORLD INSIDE OF ME
to nie ja LOST IN THE ABYSS DROWNED IN THE DEEP
NO SET OF LUNGS COULD SALVAGE ME ONLY A SHIPWRECK ONLY A GHOST
*AND I'VE BEEN CAST ASTRAY, THERE IS A HELL, BELIVE ME. I'VE SEEN IT*
*There is a heaven let's keep it the secret!!*
NO ONE NEEDS TO KNOW
WHEN YOU KNOW IT HAS TO END? *errupts into a epic violine upbeat melody*

EPIC
this is such a beautiful ending of amo, you can feel the pain
Unpopular opinion: this is one of my favorite BMTH tracks.
The contrast of his voice and the music reminds me of hospital for souls.
This song is so powerful, a masterpiece
Congrats on the album. BMTH you got it right one more time
IM HYPE TO LISTEN TO ALL THE NEW SONGS
The more I listen to this album, the more I am falling in love with it. BMTH deserve nothing but credit for venturing beyond what they've become known for, it's amazing seeing bands trying out something new. Why they get hate I have no clue, if you don't enjoy it just don't listen to it. Everything they create sounds rad as hell to me, so here's to many more awesome creations!
Alexandra333 I second this ^
true true true
Lost my dad on September 23th last year because of lung cancer. I don't really know what to say before he passed away. I lost the chance to say goodbye because i was too scared to say anything. This song means a world to me as an artist and as a person who lost their loved ones. Thank you so much for this beautiful masterpiece.
I hope that you are doing okay. Much love ❤️
I can't even begin to describe the role this song has played in getting through my own cancer journey. Four days off surgery for it to finally be over and I've circled right back to here. Grateful to have had this song!
It’s brilliant that they have switched to an acoustic guitar in this one 👌
That's music background truly GENIUS!!!!!
Yes,it is ❤
For those who know the story: RIP Aidan
Could u pls tell the story ?
@@ghassenbahloul1330 Oli wrote this for his childhood friend Aidan who died of cancer
Didnt know He died... that sucks...
For real ?!
@@ghassenbahloul1330 He talks about him in their Royal Albert Hall performance of Drown ruclips.net/video/lxpsSRZEme0/видео.html
I know this is late hopefully you have found some closure. Rest In Peace to all our fallen brothers and sisters.
This album is a masterpiece. This is Bring Me The Horizon's Dark Side Of The Moon, from start to finish this album ties up brilliantly. Hands down my personal favorite BMTH album alongside Sempiternal and That's The Spirit.
Karlhel Rivera 100% same here!!
Absolutely
let’s not get ahead of ourselves
i like amo as much as the next guy, but you can’t just compare one of the biggest, revolutionary rock albums of all time to _this_
@@leonsalgeuro
The comparison comes from a place of experimentation, not quality.
@Rivera alright that makes sense
Bring Me The Horizon has given us all so much they probably don’t know the extent of it but I think it’s time we give them something back..our love and support and to be there for them as they were for us all these years. Just listen and enjoy
You re so right bro yess sss
Agreed 100%
mhm yeah
Ally Fey 🎹🎼🎧🎸🎻🥁🎤👏🏻🙌🏻 that’s all you need

Could not ask for a better final track for this album
"how a flower in the rain, only grows more when its grey" that line makes me so emotional
I didn't appreciate this album when it came out...not like I do now. I listen to every single day now. The story behind this song...I have a moment every time I hear it now. It's so beautiful. 🥲
I had a friend that committed suicide, and the message he left was this music's title, pls tell me the story behind this song, pls
@@lvkk45 The song is about Oliver's friend Aidan who lost the battle with cancer. That pretty much sums it up.
Same this one especiallly
So emotional and powerful... chills

Excuse me, nooo! Mother Tongue is the best song, because it's super cool!
Just joking. My favorite on amo is actually Nihilist Blues.
This makes me so emotional. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who has to go thru this kind of pain, it's good to know that I'm not alone.. I lost my best friend 5 years ago, this song means a lot to me. I feel so connected to it..
Me too. I lost my Mum November last and everyday is painful without her in my life.
This song reminds me of my close friend who sadly passed away last week ... it almost provides a sense of comfort for me . Thank you bmth ♥️
I hope you're doing better and stay strong.
I never thought BMTH would write a song that would move me to tears but I bite my lip every time I hear it.
A mi me paso igual :)
Jajajajajaja me paso igual
Bmth + violin = ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
This song is phenomenal; I love the strings and that beautiful guitar solo!
My mum lost her battle to cancer six days ago and this song just hits so differently now. I'll see you at the gates when it gets dark 💜
Robert Messenger this is exactly how i feel, man
This song reminds me of " Don't Go ", maybe because of it's melancholy and instrumental.

02:07 second glitch. Sun zoom in.
02:12 third glitch. Sun grows bigger.
02:25 more glitches. Sun almost consumes the screen entirely.
02:36 sun takes over the entire screen. Colourful. Yellow. Bright. All encompassing.
02:43 slowly, the yellow becomes darker.
03:00 on the word "pain" the yellow fades even more. Becomes shadowy. The red lettering looks like blood.
03:07 yellow is entirely gone, the colour has faded.
03:10 the screen becomes darker. The black more pronounced. Despite the defiant words spoken.
03:18 slow zoom out. The first thing you see is the yellow in the corners of the screen.

03:36 The full eclipse for the first time. Quick zoom out.
03:38 The glitches become more frequent and noticeable.

The only song keeping me alive right now.. This song is for my sister who i tragically lost in a car crash..no idea how empty my heart is without you
Keep listening to this song. It will help you heal. Your sister will always be with you, until you meet again. ❤️
It's ok to only exist in the "in between" for a time. Just take it a moment at a time. I'm very sorry for your loss.
[Verse 1]
I'll see you at the gates when it gets dark
You jump the wall, I’ll find a place to park
Kill the angels if they're keeping guard
How do I start when you don't know what to say?
No, I don’t know what to say
[Verse 2]
You said the world's already full enough
Of defeated people and you would not be one
Always a choice to move yourself along
And find better and I hope that's where you are
Yeah, I know that's where you are
[Verse 3]
A doppelgänger with a telling scar
I saw the universe hidden in your heart
Wish I told you this before it got too dark
Where do you start when you know it has to end?
[Bridge]
How a flower in the rain
Only grows more when it's grey
You just shined on brighter
Making gold out of the pain
"I can die, but I can't break," you said
"You can rule, I won't obey"
As long as I'm still smiling
Well, I don’t know what to say
[Guitar Solo]
[Instrumental Outro]

This is amazing. The lyric really went under my skin
An absolute masterpiece of both producing and songwriting, handsdown my favorite song created by these artists!
I don't know how to explain it, but I feel that the people who really delved into Amo understand it, this album is totally something else. It is simply wonderful and I know that there will be someone else who understands the whole vibe and atmosphere that exists around this album and in every detail of each song. Simply incredible.
is someone searching for a heavy song? well THIS is f*cking heavy Oli.. wow! beautiful! last lines just killed me
without a doubt the best song off this album. absolute perfection from haunting composition to breathtaking execution and lyrics. definitely one the greatest songs bmth has created out of all 4 albums (since i started listening to them).
I don't know how many times I listened to this song but it always makes me cry...
i love how the whole album alludes and talks about love (amo), however the final track is directly talking about true love for someone who has passed away. amazing song.
This is probably my favourite song by these guys, everything about it is perfect
i love this, very powerful
Deathcore to pop, these guys really are all encompassing. Great work boys 🤘🏻
Deathcore to Pop
You mean metalcore to cash grab
Adolf Hitler now that heavy metal is out people like you look stupid
Technically it would be deathcore to pop
Some song more like electronic,90's vibes,pop,rock... They really made this one all different 🔥
3:24 favourite part for sure. Amazing.
This song is underrated. One of the best from the whole album. So many emotions, I always get the chills. I just feel this song. Thank you
I’m in love with these new songs!!😍

Fully agreed!
Just discovered this song today. On my 10th listen today while writing this. This right here is on equal level with Guns & Roses November Rain.... it's been said, and I'm not taking it back. This is my standing ovation to every single person who had a hand in this song. 🤘
crying to the beautifulness of this song.
It’s not that often that music hits me so hard that I am brought to tears... BMTH is the one bands that when I relate to a song it destroys me!!! Thank you for reminding me what it’s like to feel!!!
This song might be the single most amazing piece of modern music. No words can describe the feeling.
It’s amazing ❤️💓💜 I love the fact that BMTH keeps changing its style :)
i ask the prayers of all of you so that my mom can recover from cancer :') , thx and god bless you everyone

the insrrumental silence after the last line is so powerful nothing but respect for this song
Such an emotional song. The strings and synths, the vocals, absolutetly beautiful. This band is top tier and nobody can tell me otherwise
The whole band doesnt get enough credit they're literally one of the most majestic sounds lbvs I fuck with you guys so heavily love all you're music keep on keeping on
