    LYRICS:
I woke up in a warehouse
But the label had fell off
    Just minding my own meltdown
It was then I heard the cannibals, cannibals
    They said hey kid..
    You got that something special
    (It’s now or never)
    You wanna live forever
    (It’s now or never)
You know what we want you should give it to us
    (It’s now or never)
    But there’s no pressure
    And I keep picking petals,
I’m afraid you don’t love me anymore
cos a kid on the gram
    In a black dahlia tank
    Says it ain’t heavy metal
I tried to do a headcount
But I cut off all the crusts
Said they liked it better curly
Then they gut me like an animal
    They said hey man
    You had that something special
    (It’s now or never)
    Let’s keep it quintessential
    (It’s now or never)
You know what we want why not give it to us
    (It’s now or never)
    But there’s no pressure
    So I keep picking petals
I’m afraid they don’t love me anymore
Cos some kid on the gram
    In a black dahlia tank
    Says it ain’t heavy metal
    Yeah I keep picking petals
Got my heart and my head all in the wars
    Cos some kid from A n R
    in a Patagonia
Said he don't really get it
    So I keep picking petals
All I wanna know do you love me anymore
Cos some kid on the gram says he used to be fan
But this shit ain’t heavy metal
    No it ain’t heavy metal

Bring me the Horizon is the only band I listened to in highschool that I still listen to as a 26 year old. I appreciate the fact that they've continued to evolve. The rest of the "heavy metal" bands I used to listen to have either disbanded or are still churning out the same stale sound from a decade ago. I won't lie though, I got a little giddy from that outro. :)

      HERE WE FUCKING GO BABY.
1.No,is not alright that from metal you changed to pop okay?We metalheads and rockers all around the globe or (the flat earth),oved did this and enjoyed it because it made us different, showed how we are.No metalhead has a problem with a band going metal, but instead of stopping or changing a bit style going pop,the thing that we all hate, commercial bullshit radio music,is a bad move no matter who what says.
2.It ain't heavy metal and is alright?Let me stop you there,i gues i do not have to explain the stupidity here.
3.No i don't love you anymore.I loved you guys when all the other METALHEADS refused you all and said you are a kids stupid band, and i always argued with them, telling them dude, this guys are fucking metal, not anymore i guess.
4.I love how they created a song to what?Make the metalheads stop their hate?Dude, you are changing religions here okay?Generations after generations will say the same. You can't be metal and do this.
5.THAT LAST BREAKDOWN WAS A FUCKING MASTERPIECE AND THANK YOU FOR GIVING US THE LAST METAL SOUND EVER CREATED BY YOU GUYS.I APPRECIATE THAT AND WILL ALWAYS DO IT FOR THE OLD SONGS.Every journey has to end i guess..some end good others...well..like this.
Conclusion:-Thanks for reading first of all.Metalheads,we loved this band, but we will never hear metal again from this guys.So i guess is time to move on?Let's make this the last song on which we post our hate and disappointment. And i was foolish enough to believe there would be a hard good heavy metal song.Look brothers of metal, this band died unfortunately, will always live in our memory and for the ones that did not got a chance to see them live,i'm sorry. But i guess there is nothing to do,we the ones that made them big,the fans will be changed with some other ones, but hey there are still a fuck tone of bands, don't you give up on heavy metal. We listen to metal, there is a reason why,and you all know it well. And as a last thing,to see how bad this band became..the verse "cause a kid on the gram says he used to be a fan and this shit aint heavy metal",i mean..really?Moking their fans for not giving them what they wanted to hear?We wanted metal, and you made a fucking song, about the fans, without which you wouldn't be there...

I was listening to them in their heavier metal stage when I was much younger and I'm not I'm my late 20's to early 30's currently, therefore your comment is slightly invalid. There are new fans that are younger, there's new fans that are older, there's old fans who have grown with their music and there's the people who are either too judgemental of their change to like the music now or just don't enjoy it and respect their decision.

I was a little hesitant going from Sempiternal to this, because Sempiternal felt like their peak and I was afraid this meant they were going to sour. I was wrong to doubt, because experimentation is what ushered in the post-hardcore/metalcore/theatercore/whatever you-want-to-lable it-core era in the first place.

I like heavier music, I admit. At this point I am just eternally grateful that they gave me Sempiternal. It's one of my top 3 favourite albums of all time and I knew there won't be another like it after I heard That's The Spirit. But really, that's okay and I prefer it this way. We all knew this evolution - and the backlash - were going to happen. I mean the same thing happened with Linkin Park, but everyone chose to forget after Chester's passing. I really like the bite in this song, and dammit, isn't it catchy

Now all these kids want to act like count your blessings was cool. Daniel Johnstone I think that’s a big part of why people are so upset though. I was one of those kids as well. I loved them from the jump and was made fun of for it. Either it was weird to the kids who didn’t listen to heavier shit, or wack to the kids who listened to heavier shit. There was a very small niche of people who liked them. That’s why people are upset because they went through a lot of hate growing up liking them just to be shitted on later for not liking the new stuff. I’m into this direction honestly. You can’t live in one genre forever over a 15 year span. I’m not a massive fan of all the new songs, but I’m for the band taking steps in another way.

    • @WhydTheyChangeOurNames
      @WhydTheyChangeOurNames 5 лет назад +38

Newsflash, a band owes EVERYTHING to it's fans. They wouldn't still be making music, having multimillion dollar house, have brand deals, still have a record deal; if it wasn't for the fans they have so yes actually, they owe the fans everything that they have the luxury of having. We bought their albums, saw their shows, bought their merch, etc. so they could be where they are now. Bands are free to change but that doesn't make someone not a fan if they decide to jump ship on the band. They liked the band THEY supported, this album for the most part (there are exceptions) just sounds generic and without any of the BMTH feel to it and I'm not referring to their sounds. Pray for Plagues and Chelsea Smile sound NOTHING like anything on Sempiternal but Sempiternal still felt like BMTH. The feel is more in the lyricism, the emotion behind it, the story their music is telling etc. Count Your Blessings was their coming out and trying to find themselves demonstrated from their anger and angst in their songs, Suicide Season you can see they more came into their own and found their own voice and spoke about more personal things, There is A Hell... is them fully being themselves with Oli speaking about his demons, his tear between the business and personal life, the expectations around them, Sempiteral was them leaving themselves open about everything and Oli truly opening up about his struggles with his mental help but how he is working on it, That's The Spirit on the whole shows them embracing their success while Oli also lets out emotions about he and his at the time wife's struggling marriage, then you have Amo which on the whole (again, has exceptions) lacks their same feel as past albums. It comes off generic and uninspired. These are valid reasons to not like a project and to say it is not the same band that people fell in love with and the one they built up to this point.

although this isn’t my favorite album by bmth, they never fail to disappoint me. i understand older fans not liking this album because it sounds nothing like their older music. i appreciate both their old and new music.
