Over three years ago i found this song when I most needed it: Id been arrested for something that had torpedoed my career, trapped where i was and I had no idea if I might be headed for jail. Music kept me sane, God kept me from giving up. Now that im doing far, far better, back to doing what I love as a free and happily married man, the lyrics dont resonate like they used to. But revisiting songs like this help me to be thankful for how far Ive come.
Lyrics : Teardrops We hurt ourselves for fun Force-feed our fear until our hearts go numb Addicted to a lonely kind of love What I wanna know Is how we got this stressed out, paranoid Everything is going dark Nothing makes me sadder than my head I'm running outta teardrops, let it hurt till it stops I can't keep my grip, I'm slipping away from me Oh, God, everything is so fucked, but I can't feel a thing The emptiness is heavier than you think I'm tripping on the edge High as a kite, I'm never coming down And if you hear me, guess you know how it feels To be alone So how'd we get this stressed out, paranoid? Everything is going dark Nothing makes me sadder than my head I'm running outta teardrops, let it hurt till it stops I can't keep my grip, I'm slipping away from me Oh, God, everything is so fucked, but I can't feel a thing The emptiness is heavier than you think Suicidal, violent tragic state of mind Lost my halo, now I'm my own anti-christ Suicidal, violent, tragic state of mind Lost my halo, now I'm my own anti-christ I'm running outta teardrops, let it hurt till it stops I can't keep my grip, I'm slipping away from me Oh, God, everything is so fucked, but I can't feel a thing The emptiness is heavier than you think I'm running outta teardrops, let it hurt till it stops I can't keep my grip, I'm slipping away from me Oh, God, everything is so fucked, but I can't feel a thing The emptiness is heavier than you think Teardrops Teardrops I'm running outta teardrops The emptiness is heavier than you think
Oliver grabbing one of his band members hands shows that they are there for him, once he got out of the water sinking thinking he had no escape no matter what, that made me smile so much that they have such a strong bond, that they would never leave him even in the harshest of times and I know he would do the same for them 🥺❤️💕
the progression from their first album to this is fucking immaculate. i can’t think of many artists that can release straight bangers for ten years straight
If you look at BMTH's discography, they really have come a long way. They went from deathcore to metalcore and finally arriving at electronic rock. They truly have found a sound and genre that suits them, and is unlike any other band I've seen so far.
They started with technical mathcore-type stuff, really, if you go all the way back to Edge of Your Seat. Pretty amazing how they’ve been so inconsistent genre-wise but so consistent quality-wise.
That's what I get worried about now when these musicians write songs like this. Sure, we can say it's just a song and just musicians trying to be relatable to its audience. But look at Chester Bennington. How do we know when these songs are a cry for help?
I love oly, have for about a decade, he’s been through a lot that’s for sure, but I don’t think any of the songs he writes lately are really directed towards him and how he feels, he’s been there and had a good perspective on it all, he seems also very happy in life in general, but I could be wrong, we all thought Chester was fine till it was too late…hope we don’t lose this guy…he’s kinda been my guide for a bit…🖤
Architects giving Rammstein and BMTH vibes on their new song... Bring Me The Horizon giving Linkin Park vibes and awesome videos... Machine Gun Kelly remembering Blink times... 2020 is not that bad Stay safe Stay tuned
@@daraxus according to idiot like him, all metalcore band sound like BMTH because it's the most over rated sound he got into first and whenever he hear some metalcore beats he will say "oh it sound like BMTH' while he himself doesn't know that Even bmth NEVER did an original metalcore sound, they just took a sound that already existed, let's be real!
Makes me so happy to see bands like BMTH and Architects evolve and organically fill the void that Linkin Park have left behind. Also love the theme of this song.
Hi everyone so im actually quite new to this genre and style of music. Unfortunately im in the middle of the emotional and mental battle of divorce right now ... Videos so beautiful man, Big metaphor for Oli battling with his demon/demons and falling into depression and addiction, constantly struggling like hes drowning, but when he needed it the band were there to save him and helped him out of his addiction.
The videoclip and song are very similar to Somewhere I Belong, all this EP from its sound to even its name is a reference to Linkin Park, I think Oli and the band struggled a lot this year (like almost everyone) and they got so much free time in home to maybe overthink but also get back to maybe old music they really like, and maybe that's why we have this
@@mr.bassbuoy6092 could be seen that way too but personally I think it's about battling his addiction and overcoming it,at least that's what I gathered anyway. Especially the scene where oli gets a crown put on his head, notice how there's drugs on the crown. I feel like it could be a metaphor for fans praising oli for the way he used to be back in the days of there is a hell etc always looking for "old bmth" not the way he is now
When Oile Sykes say: "Nothing makes me sadder than my head. I'm running outta teardrops, let it hurt till it stops" I felt that. This was the song my soul needed this year 🖤
Just so we are clear everyone in BMTH.. depression is rough, but we would all be so sad if you ended up like Chester. I always think about how much Linkin Park sang about depression and wished I could say something before Chester died. But yes, depression sucks but we will all always love you guys! :) Never be embarrassed to talk about depression either! If you end up needing a break, or need to take care of yourself just know that we will always be there waiting. We aren't going anywhere, so don't you go anywhere either!
You're the very first one that actually speaks about what LP sang back in the days, really glad that someone got the message from chester and still remember it... Hope people starts to care about this things and help people to get out of that shit... You've made my day bro.🤘
No matter how much you keep an eye on someone that's had suicidal tendencies, it takes 5 minutes for them to feel trapped and end it all. Everyone has a basal happiness. Depression causes this basal point to be lower than normal. All you can do is stop it from getting too low. It takes an actual doctor to bring the basal point back up. If you're reading this and you have depression, PLEASE just take a moment to open google and look at even online help. There's plenty out there.
BMTH is sounding more and more like LP. I remmeber Oli stating early LP as heavy musical influences for him and the band. It's very clear here, I love it!!! 🔥 🔥 🔥
This video is highly relatable to myself. As someone who is bipolar I can relate to every second of this video when I'm in a depressive episode. The feeling like you're constantly drowning and surrounded by demons doing all that you can to feel better whether it be drugs or not so you keep ending yourself away and it's so hard to keep your head above water. And it takes an incredible amount to pull yourself out of this.
The problems with his thoughts, his demons, the drugs, sleep paralysis was cured by the band when they gave Oli their hands of help! Everything was dark until the band gave him the light! Lyrics :
Teardrops
We hurt ourselves for fun
Force-feed our fear until our hearts go numb
Addicted to a lonely kind of love
What I wanna know
Is how we got this stressed out, paranoid
Everything is going dark
Nothing makes me sadder than my head
I'm running outta teardrops, let it hurt till it stops
I can't keep my grip, I'm slipping away from me
Oh, God, everything is so fucked, but I can't feel a thing
The emptiness is heavier than you think
I'm tripping on the edge
High as a kite, I'm never coming down
And if you hear me, guess you know how it feels
To be alone
So how'd we get this stressed out, paranoid?
Everything is going dark
Nothing makes me sadder than my head
I'm running outta teardrops, let it hurt till it stops
I can't keep my grip, I'm slipping away from me
Oh, God, everything is so fucked, but I can't feel a thing
The emptiness is heavier than you think
Suicidal, violent tragic state of mind
Lost my halo, now I'm my own anti-christ

Good question.
