To any of you English speakers, I'm just helping the japanese listeners understand the idioms in the lyrics since some of their translations I saw had some bad translations.
日本語のミスがあったらごめん。
僕は英語ネイティブで結構日本語も分かってちょっと書いてあった和訳を見てて本当に変な訳があった。
この曲の歌詞では、たくさんよく使う英語のイディオムがある。
例えば、曲の歌詞は薬物について歌っていそうなんだけど、「a taste of your own medicine」って意味は「しっぺ返し」や「自ら招いた災難」 の方が近く。
次に、このシチュエーションでの「sick to death of」っていうところの意味は「～にうんざりしている」や「～がすっかり嫌になっている」や「～にいいかげん嫌気が差している」 に近い。
この曲はボーカルの不倫した元妻についた書かれた。それでそのイディオムの目的でこの曲の意味を分かりやすくなると思う。

Even as a learner of English, I find some mistakes in translations of lyrics of BMTH's songs into Japanese on individual blogs. I really want writers to be more accurate in their own translation. I wish I could translate BMTH's emotional, beautiful and sometimes lyrical lyrics accurately ,conveying minute nuances, and spread charms of BMTH.

This song is one of my favorites from the album. I was in an abusive relationship for 2 years, and the person went off and spread all kinds of lies about me, so when I tried to come forward about the abuse, people didn't believe me. So I went silent, while he completely ruined my reputation. When he says, "I cut my teeth and bit my tongue 'til my mouth was dripping blood, but I never dished the dirt, just held my breath, while you dragged me through the mud" it really hits me, because I felt like that was exactly what I was going through. Thankfully, his new girlfriend (now ex) came forward confirming all of the abuse allegations, because he did the same to her. Now he's finally seen as who he really is. It still is upsetting how many people bullied and harassed me because of him, but at least he got a taste of his own medicine in the end. (pun intended)
Thank you a lot for telling such an amazing story. I was excited while reading it. A great number of people around the world suffer from abusive relations they have joined in. But that which does not kill us makes us stronger :) Wish you luck! .

I mean it's still primarily rock. Pop rock; and yeah the pop influence is very present but the rock aspects of the song still feel the most prominent , so that might be why. The reason why I love bring me the horizon, is because they are an evolutionary band. Every album is different they are growing with the times. Absolute amazing band that they can constantly reinvent themselves and still sound great. Another British band becoming one of the best.

I think their change of style is good, and I definitely like what they've put out, but it's so different to me knowing that they once were a deathcore band. Personally, I prefer their older stuff, but I do respect their new stuff as well and am looking forward to amo.

And the combination of the genres bmth likes results in music like this song. Don't always think that a band changes its style because of profitability.
Absolutely agree with you. Changing of BMTH's music style became really nice, i mean, so much rock fans hated them, but from the technical side of music their songs are great

I remember when this song came out, I was in a house with friends and an ex girlfriend ( which we were in a complicated phase kind of toxic ) I was really sad, and then I looked at my phone to see this new song, when I first listened to the Words ( Some people are a lot like clouds, cause life is so much brighter when they go ) I understood that my relationship was affecting me in a psychological way. now I hope she’s happy with someone she really love and I hope now to keep finding happiness in my self.
This song goes out to everyone who’s ever messed me about in my life. You people are all clouds and my life is better off without you in them.
