Yes exactly what happened to me. And with Mother Tongue I kinda didn't like it. But the second time I listened I absolutely loved it. Like, I really prefer the old Bring Me The Horizon, but this new one is surprising me on the positive side, and I love it. I want more of this.

duncan verdult I can honestly say that’s the one song I’ve heard I’m not a fan of by them, it feels like it should be like dead center of the album as some sort of intermission or something. But looking at the track list it’s 3rd so idk weird choice but they’re just experimenting I think. 🤷♂️

Live versions of these type of songs will always be heavier. Love it.
The rawness you only get from a live performance is exactly what their new music needs. The guitars sound crunchy and alive, vocals are real and honest. This is really good. I was someone that criticised the studio recording at first, felt too overproduced. This is on point though.

Studio versions usually don't allow you to hear the guitar, bass and drums as well as live versions do. It was the same thing as linkin park last album

BMTH is a band so people expect to hear everyone contributing and not just barely doing anything (same problem with 30 STM). This heavier sound is also more reminiscent of their older and heavier stuff which shows that they've still retained some of their roots/identity and haven't completely become another band.
