about to start my a-level coursework and have binged all of your videos, thank you for your help and i'm excited to see more !
Cheers Mienna, that’s great. Good luck in your alevel s 👍🏻
Another great lesson ❤
I wish I'd had an inspirational art teacher like you when I was at school....thanks..S
Excellent! As an Abstract Expressionist painter myself, your tips with example are what I work with. Also, very important is balancing all of the elements and weight. I also refer to Franz Kline and he has done a lot of work mostly unknown that includes colour.
Thank you Tom - well done! Good information that can be put to good use today!
What a gift you have!!
Thank you. You are very good as a teacher and an artist. I’m trying to make my work more abstract so will be looking for those videos on your channel.
Thanks for a most useful video. I shared it with a group of my senior friends who are struggling to find our way into the world of abstracts.
Great tips - thank you!!
Wonderfully Concise! Liz - Texas
Excellent video. Thanks.
Thank you sooo much. Everytime so exciting :) and fun, to learn so much about other artists ...
Thank you Andrea, glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
Great tips! Especially the contrast - so oftentimes neglected
Thank you, bit of a different video than usual but trying out different formats. Cheers for watching 👍🏻
@@TomQuigleyArt please keep it up!
@@amyleigh7660 I will do Amy, just off for Easter so having a break. Back next week 👍🏻

Thank you Miriam 🙌
@@TomQuigleyArt Thank you 🙏
Nice one Tom. Really useful.
No worries, thanks for letting me know. Have a great weekend when it arrives 👍🏻
Thanks so much for this vid! Really helpful😊
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for this interesting video. I have a quastion . How do you seal oil pastels? I have my Sennelier ones but they smear even if i use mediums . I bought cheap ones, less oily, but the colors are less vibrant than Sennelier ones. Thank you for your replys, best wishes
How exactly would you set the focal point in the painting? I would still be very interested in a further explanation of this and what technique you would use.
Love your videos - Tom I'm sure you did a video using Deli paper? I can't for the life of me find it!?
Thank you!
Very amazing!!👏👏
Thanks 👍🏻
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
thx a lot. things that I unconsciously knew but could not yet formulate
Glad you found it useful Gabrielle 👍🏻
thank you so much for sharing!
No problem 😊
OOOOOOOH I loved it. Have you ever used airbrush medium? I bought some by mistake thinking it was slow dry medium for acrylic and I don't know how to use it. Maybe it would give some good drippy stuff in this kind of painting. More more of Franz Kline kind of paintings!! Now I know how to use my oil pastels someone gave me which have been sitting around for 5 yrs. Thank you SO much.
another excellent video Tom, thank you :O)
Thanks 🙌
New subscriber. Great points just to the point. 👍
Cheers for subscribing, it’s a different video to what I would normally do, so great to know it was useful 👍🏻
Perfect Sir, thank u very much. Can u also show us how 2 make traslucency !, and some of z material that i can use 2 do it. And what is z black color and chalk that u use 4 this paint that u r painting now, is their any online galleries that i can visit and learn.
Thanks again, appreciate it.
Yes I will put it in another video, gloss medium and structure gel by Windsor and Newton are really good to make your acrylic translucent
Just discovered your channel, Tom, and love your energy (bet the kids do too). Just a technical point really: when you do a long shot of your painting at the end, the inserts for associated videos appear on the screen which detracts from enjoying your work. I think you have to add an ending shot to your movie (end of edit) so this doesn't happen. Keep up the good work !
Thanks Louise, that’s very kind of you. Yeah I mean to put one in but always forget. I always upload a photo on Instagram just incase you want to see it. Il do my best to put one in for you😊. Cheers for watching!
This is an art attack… this is an art attack… this IS art attack!!! 🎶 Doo doo ,doo doo, doo doo doo , doo doo , doo doo 🎶
I just found & subscribed to you. I've already earned something new! Thank you for sharing your work. It motivated me further.
Thanks Terry 🙌 more videos coming very soon 👍🏻

Tom do you use Parker Quink ink? It is washable so wondering how it would hold up with other water based materials. Thanks for your help.
Yes I do, aspects of it will bleed into other areas but I tend use these as happy accidents, a lot of drawing inks will keep coming through layers such as white acrylic. But majority hold and don’t dissolve when other layers applied
Adding to your question I don’t I used ink in this video
I'm in year 10, do you have any ideas for the theme of growth and decay? thank you
Il try and do some techniques which would work in a video soon 👍🏻
Hi Tom, You used a product called “Quink” (ink like product) with bleach. Can you suggest where I can buy it? Thanks so much! Liz from TEXAS. 🌻
Hi Liz, Quink is used in Parker fountain pens, I think any fountain pen ink will do. I will put a link in the description for you. Great to know you’re watching all the way from Texas 👍🏻
@@TomQuigleyArt Thank you, Tom! 🌻
Hi when will you be doing a video on John piper ?
I’m not to sure, I will try and get it done soon for you 👍🏻
I would like to sent you wo of my abstract paintings for your opinion
unfortunately i don't have enough time to look at work but maybe able to do that service on my Patreon in a few weeks.
Franz Kline didn't paint when he was pissed.
It ain't 1950, and you're not American. X
Thank you!
