I can imagine the beautiful shawls the premier will make to donate. Soft, silky, beautiful wash after wash. Chrystal put it through her knitting machine and it was gorgeous.
Watch another RUclipsr do a review on the premiere. She did a full thing on her knitting machine and the colors were beautiful. She said somebody finally hit the perfect ombre out of the park. Loves the premiere worked up beautifully.

This right here was the review I was waiting for from you!!! Ugh premiere is a true ombré yarn and I’m soooo here for it! I love mandala yarn especially for baby blankets and throw blankets but this gradient yarn from premier is definitely garment worthy and stunning. I’m going to wait for all the colors to be in stock so I can get a few of the ones that scream at me. I so want the red, purple, teal, sky, yellow, eggplant…. Let’s be real I want two of each hahaha! I’d use the mandala for a blanket but premier will be the yarn I’d make stuff that I wear on my skin. Happy 4th of July Jen and family stay safe

I knew you would love it! Antipilling acrylic is delicious! Especially if I think of it in comparison to what I am using in that darn project I am using on the blanket I am using at the moment!! Next one will be different for sure!!

We don't get Premier in Australia, love the gradient. I have to say, after years of wanting to try Mandala, so disappointed in it. Trying to bust it out of my stash now!
@@Aromagirl70I’m working on the few Mandalas in my stash too! Ing, got some of their bonus bundles - making a couple of throw blankets. Will never purchase again! Just don’t like the feel of it in my hands. I had high hopes for the gradient & ordered 3 in olive. Now I’m concerned about working with it- we will see.
I’ve decided that Premier is going to be the only online purchases from here on out.

I have psoriasis and allergies... Thank you for your opinions on yarn, including your skin sensitivities! It's important for those you crochet for, including babies, elderly, others with skin sensitivities, etc. You turned me onto premiere yarns and oetex standards. I follow your recommendations alot, not that our sensitivities are the same, but I'm not spending my money on yarn that may irritate me! 🤣
I started my first tank top from your tutorial. I've been intimidated by trying to read patterns, gauge, etc. I'm kinda sorta new and slow and I tighten my stitches way too much, but I'm doing it... I had a stroke at 52, I'm now 54, so I struggle. I learned as a child and I'm refamiliarizing myself. My crochet is more like macrame with a crochet hook! 🤣 But I'm doing it... That's what's important...

I appreciate the information of how it feels for you, with skin problems. It lets me know what yarns I can use for my daughter, with sensory issues. She seems to only like the yarns that are silky soft, with a sheen. Unfortunately, they all seem to be thinner than a standard 4 weight, which makes finding clothing patterns she would like, much harder. I wish more clothing pattern designers would work with 3 weight yarns, to make it easier for us that want to use the thinner 4 weight yarns.

Surprisingly informative video. I would have never guessed 4 weight yarns would be so drastically different. It’s weird Lion Brand would label it that way knowing how important gauge is in yarn work. Thank you!
Thank you, as always for your honest review. I love that you stress how a yarn feels. I have neuropathy and my skin is SO sensitive. I get eye rolls when I mention that, but unless you have it, you really don't get it. I even have a hard time with seams, so I wear a lot of my clothes inside out. Just around the house though, lol.
Hey Jen so glad you and the guys had a nice trip! I never realized that RHSS and other yarns were causing me to have issues on my hands. I quit using RHSS specifically and enjoy crocheting so much more. Really love the premier gradient but need to clear some of my stash out before adding more 🦋
Thank you for your honest review. I appreciate your honesty. My grandson has horrible eczema so I have to be mindful on yarns when I am making him things. I do agree that this new Premier gradient yarns are so soft. I purchased 5 different colors and am very happy with them unlike the ombre that I just cannot stand!
I love Premier yarns. I probably wouldn’t get the Lion brand as I’m not really fond of thick yarn.

I saw Nancy - She’s got yarn pick up the Mandala & fell in love with the olive. Ordered enough for a lacy type cardigan.
Then I saw Crystal show Premier’s.
Mandala came in first & does feel squishy in the cake. Now I’m nervous about using it cause I can’t use many of the same yarns that give you problems.🧶 And I will definitely be treating it as a bulky #5!
Of the Premier - I told myself to order like Jenn & work colors together!😉
I have green, yellow, orange, blue& am on notification for the teal & purple. I know you’ll have a wonderful idea for it all!
I also have the eggplant that is being made into a shawlette for a brown-loving friend. It is a DREAM to work with & I keep reaching for it instead of some other WIPs that have deadlines 😂

Hi Jenn, just got home last night from vacation in Niagara Falls with my granddaughter Juliana. I love how you do your yarn reviews. Letting us know how they feel on the hands and how they work up is important to me. I'm not ordering from Premier and I'm not crossing the border anytime soon to go to Joann's because I have so much yarn that if I get anymore I'll have to move out of my house 🤣 and my granddaughter agrees. I really want to get some of the Premier gradients but, I'll have to wait 🤷🏼♀️

Pretty, both are pretty. Still, I will stick with ❤️. ❤ is 482 yards, and more of the darker color., and $7.98, at Walmart. It will soften after washing. Always use a 5.5 or 6MM hook. You are rocking that hat! How can you wear a chain in the heat? I am impressed! I can’t handle necklaces in the summer. Pretty cross, Jennifer.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for doing this video. I am using the Premier gradient yarn for a scarf in sky tones. This is the softest yarn I have ever used! And it does have a very subtle sheen to it which I like. I had been wondering about the Lion Brand gradient as well. From your video I think I am sticking with the Premier gradient. And since watching and listening to this particular video, I will try more anti-pilling yarn of different brands for the softness of the yarn. Again, thank you.
On the lion brand, it had a start sticker on the end of the yarn premiere. I did not see a start sticker on the end of the yarn. I like that brand I don’t pull out of yarn barf. OK I was wrong. It’s the other way around, but I’m not deleting everything and rewriting it.
Thanks for the review. I saw the gradient yarn from Mandala and was curious about it. I think I will check out Premiere’s cakes though. Like you, I prefer the center pull to prevent the yarn vomit. I am lucky I don’t have your health issues but I appreciate you sharing because I am sure other viewers do. I don’t understand why folks are so rude. Just in comparison, I like the premier better. It seems more luscious is color. Jmo . Thank you for your help. 💜
I buy most of my yarn from Herrschners. They sell alot of different brands including Premier. The catalogs show the colors better than online. One of their Herr. yarns is Supreme, very soft with a sheen. Smaller skein but pretty colors other than standard colors. I made an afghan for an Aunt in the Lagoon, a pretty shade of ocean blue.
I got the green tones. Can’t wait to get started!
I so appreciate that you tell us when yarns irritate your hands or are right on the line that they might cause you problems. I have sensitive skin and I am either reactive to or full blown allergic to every animal fiber. Synthetic yarns can be hit or miss (a lot of miss) too, simply because my skin is so dry and easily irritated. Reactivity for any reason is super helpful for me to know.
Your videos truly help me make informed decisions about what yarns I try. Thank you. ❤

Oh! I have been waiting for this review! Both are beautiful but i like premier better then even lion brand as a whole. I'm so glad you tried the dots hooks. I always wanted to get better hooks but the clover was out of my price range. When i saw the dots, I HAD to order them. Man, I'm glad i did, they are my favorite hooks. That's pretty much all i use anymore unless i need a 7mm or something! 😂
The lb yarn looks more like an aran weight. I am super picky with acrylic yarns and a fan of premier yarn like you! ❤❤❤❤❤

Good for you for blocking the negative Nancy. Ain’t got no time for that nonsense. Skin issues are for real. My daughter has Dermatographic urticaria (skin writing) and least scratch or irritation can cause her to look like she has huge hives.

Premier my favorite value. And the new “gradient” is more like a true ombré and gorgeous. I’ve found premier just yarn at 1.25 tree. So premier is only online?? Mostly?
I rarely use Lion brand anything because it’s never appealed to me much.

WELCOME HOME!! A huge 'thank you' for this head-to-head comparison of the 2 yarns! I think, for me, Id buy the Premier yarn before the Lion Brand yarn. I dont have skin issues so that doesnt enter into my choice. I like the colors, yardage, anti-pilling and lower price better. Both yarns are pretty but, for me, its an easy choice!
BTW, I bought the crochet hook case like the 2 you have, the honeybee and avocado designs. I LOVE it! I dont have anywhere near the amount of hooks you do but its cool that they can be sorted by size and not just jumbled in a pouch or box type case. Thank you for the Happy Mail/review you did on the case!

The Premier Gradient yarn is gorgeous 😍! I want to eventually get some of it. Lion Brand is gorgeous too. I think that Premier did it best though as far as the way it ombrés out. I don’t understand why people fell it’s ok to be rude to RUclipsrs. All they have to do is to not watch if they don’t like one of you. Thank you for sharing this yarn with us.

While I am fond of some Lion Brand yarns, original Mandala yarn is a 3 weight dk, so they labeled this new yarn Mandala to boost sales, because it isn't the same weight or texture. Peace and Blessings 🌱🌻🧶

Great video definitely helped me decide if I’ll get the premier yarn or not I think I will but I’ll wait for them to put it on sale hopefully they do at some point. I won’t be getting the lion brand version tho not a fan of the dense type yarns

You know you should take all the yarn out of your containers then take a picture of the yarn and then put the picture on the outside of that container. Then you’ll know what is in all of your containers! That is what I do.
Allergic blisters are no fun for sure.... and we're not even gonna try to list the causes 😢😢
I feel that Lion Brand purposely balls their yarn loosely so it looks like a larger skein of yarn.

I bought the mandala aqua and I’m hoping it becomes less scratchy I’m 2 cakes into my blanket😔 I love the color but it felt softer in the cake but now so scratchy. I’ve only worked with Caron idk if my eyes (irritated) are reacting with the nylon in the mandala
