We're loving this channel in our household. I know it's a VHF low station but my 8 bay Channel Master antenna picks it up nearly perfectly. It's been awesome showing my kids these awesome cartoons
Ontario, Canada here. I pick it up (MeTV Toons) off the Rochester NY 46-6 transmitter. It’s about 60 statute miles from me. Fortunately I’m using a Televis VHF/UHF outdoor antenna that you reviewed 3 or 4 years ago. I’m using a preamp on the antenna and a distribution amp to feed the TV signal throughout my home. Your RUclips channel has been a valuable source of reliable OTA information. Keep up the good work…and thanks. BTW I pick up approximately 70 OTA stations (Rochester, Buffalo, and Syracuse) in my location. My antenna is on a J-pole, not an antenna tower.
I'm in New England in a similar situation getting a similar amount of stations from different areas, love it. When one network is a little weak I can choose from several other channels to watch it on lol. I do love when new unique networks show up. One of the Boston stations is adding DEFY TV ( love that one ) just funny as we get it from about four other channels 😅.

I wish more of the low power stations would approach Pluto or one of the other free streaming services to offer their networks. GetTV is on several now, so is ION and IONPlus, I would love to see Catchy Comedy, H&I, METV, and some others join Court TV and the rest and make using an antenna to get their typically weak signals optional.
I've had a great time watching this network over the past few days. It may be the longest period of time I've kept it on a single channel in a very long time. Very fun to tune in to The Jetsons and the Flintstones after work - and get a chance to sample Rocky and Bulwinkle. MeTV does a really good job with many of their promos and the ones on MeTV Toons are good, too!
I tuned in about 7:00 Tuesday morning. Actually it was about 6:45 when I got home from an overnight bus trip from Omaha Nebraska. I had the tunes channel on all day that day pretty much. I love it. It took really until about this morning before the zapper box TV Guide was able to grab all of the information. So now I know exactly what's on when it's on. But it's a great channel and I'm going to watch it very heavily.
It’s been fun covering the MeTV Toons channel launch. Looks like more affiliates are coming on board soon. I’m also receiving it on C band satellite 101 west.
@@NorthcoasterHobby You arent kidding. Mine is 10' and I had to make 10 trips in and out of the house to realign it since its apparently drooped a little in the 10 years since I last used it. Finally got a lock though. There is Toons East and Toons West and both are 480. MeTV is also on that sat in HD.
Not in Miami yet 😞 The Rabbitears site is wrongly showing a Miami station carrying it. It's not. Scanned for new channels a dozen times today, nothing.
I'm in kingsville, tx. And I'm not getting "metv toons" either. I've checked a few websites and I'm thinking I may have to update my antenna. Of course, I'm about 23 miles away from tv towers, that can be part of the reason I'm only picking up selected channels.

Good video. I am hoping MeTV Toons will come to the Detroit, Michigan area. I've emailed WDIV, the station that currently broadcasts MeTV, and asked if they will carry MeTV Toons. All of my emails fell on deaf ears because I have not received a response to any of my emails.
I did a rescan and picked up 16 more now up to 90 antenna channels but no MeTV toons yet!!! C'mon Orlando, FL they said would release on the 26th yet a day later still nothing.
Tyler, I just found & subscribed to your channel. Great videos! My wife and I have a renewed interest in getting all of the OTA channels we can because of the launch of MeTV Toons. Due to our proximity, it's hit-or-miss during the day, but at least we can usually get it in the evening.
Tyler. Push with your contacts. I have thought for over 30 years there should be a Pilot TV. All of those pilot TV shows that were done on all networks, etc and all of those season 1 just a few shows before being cancelled shows on all networks, etc. are just sitting there. Those owning networks could be making a tiny bit of money allowing a Pilot TV channel to run them. New cult classics would be created. Seems like METV would jump on this low cost programming. The network would still own the rights. Maybe some dead actors estates would make money, depending on what contracts the actors had in place. Would be a lot of fun to watch that old and newer stuff. Good laughing material
There's a decent podcast run by Maximum Fun called "Dead Pilots Society." They find writers who had pilots which were never picked up, and give them a table read with great, well known actors. Many are comedies and most of them are incredible.
I'm so happy that Weigel broadcasting brought their channels to the Green Bay Market on their very own Tower. I am glad to have MeTV and some of the other networks back I haven't turned off my phone broadcasting since we got it last week Thursday
MeTv toons hasn't yet been picked up by Comcast Xfinity in the Seattle, WA and Bellingham Washington Metro areas but MeTV toons is available on the television stations kffv and kvos by ota. It just takes Comcast a little bit of time when they integrate a new station at least in my area.
Here in the Cleveland market, it's on Weigel owned LPTV outlet WOCV/35.3. Their signal doesn't make it this far south, though the previous owner of the station had a signal down here. It was turned in with the Spectrum auction, long before Weigel bought it.
My local station in the Evansville area does not pick up MeTV Toons so far. The website did say that WEVV would pick it up on 44.5 but that channel hasn't turned on yet and when I rescan I don't get that new channel. I have contacted WFIE about them possibly adding MeTV Toons but I got transferred to the sales department and I never got a response. WEVV also didn't respond to my voicemail message either. Hopefully Weigel will instead add this channel on their local station in my area.
Could be like "Atlanta". On a weak tower in Norcross that if you don't live in Norcross, you can't get it. When MeTV see viewership about 100 people a day that's their fault for choosing weak towers very few can watch.
For anyone flirting with the idea of Frndly, it’s worth the seven day trial. You’ll get the entire Weigel suite (METV, Toons, Plus; Catchy Comedy; H&I; Story; etc.). The local METV has been on a .3 for years - but on an LP (also for years). So, I’m probably gonna have better luck thru streaming.
Sad, here in the south-central Pennsylvania TV market, our local station that carries ME-TV1 has not put the ME-TV toons channel on the air. (as of yet) Would like to know why they have not opted to put that channel on the air.
I am receiving it in the Dallas, TX market. Purists will be happy to know it looks like they are preserving the original aspect ratio and not cropping, at least for the show that was on. Be sure to rescan before giving up, if you don't see it.
Not the case here in Boston. The image is severely compressed horizontally...almost "portrait view." Half the viewing area is wasted on black side bars. 😡

If it wasn't for that, I would have been left in the dark, wondering where to look for it until I were to see it by chance while channel surfing in the (hopefully) not so distant future. Apparently in Miami, S.Florida, it won't be my local MeTV station but rather WBFS-TV (CBS Corporation) on Channel 33-7, sadly it's not up yet BUT it says "soon". Fingers crossed. When Tyler read down the top ten TV markets, and Detroit wasn't one of them . . . When I was growing up it was the fifth largest city in the US. Nice living in Flint, where Ch 12 carries both MeTV and MeTV Toons.
Maybe a larger Ota antenna directional you will get it. I receive it and just have an indoor flat antenna. And I'm 60 miles sw west of Chicago..I am in a high rise about 40ft up. I do have frndly TV app which carries me toons and over 40 live channels for only about $ 7 A month..best of luck to you.
Antenna Man - I recently watched a video clip you provided regarding Frndly TV and local channels. My wife and I cut the cord recently and we are picking up locals on several TV's right now with rabbit ears. We had a large rooftop antenna recently removed that we had installed years ago when a new roof was completed. It was old and an eyesore but it did provide solid local channel reception. I had the roof installers save the wiring and they tucked it in under the second story northwest corner of the roof. The reception we get with the rabbit ears we now use comes and goes with the weather. I'd like to get a more modern antenna up off of the northwest corner of the roof. Do I need to sign up with your service to get a recommendation for this? I live in western PA near the Ohio border. The local channels we get actually come out of Youngstown, OH.
It’s supposed to be on out of Indianapolis, but apparently it’s on a low power “local” channel. So if you are not in the “metro” Indy area, you are SOL. They are NOT on a sub channel of the same channel as the regular MeTV station.

I haven't had cable or satellite tv for over a decade and haven't used over the air free tv in a long time. I have a smart tv with Frontier internet. How do I watch this? Do I need a analogue or digital antenna or something like that.
Can I get some help: I use to have a box from the cable company, what I would do is keep it on a channel for a couple hours but did not watch it. I would rewind it as far as I could then skip/fast forward through the commercials...What are my options now? Now that I have OTA TV. Second question is there a way to connect to a station beyond out of reach via internet/RJ-45 that is OTA?
My Los Angeles people, don't make the mistake I did and confuse channel 27 for 54.3, it was coming in choppy on 27 until I realized that is for Ontario. Coming in loud and clear on 54.3!
Unfortunately I can only receive most channels from one direction. I am in a lower lying area surrounded by tall buildings with a highway on one side 2nd floor apartment.
I was really looking forward to the launch, but then realized that the broadcast in Atlanta metro area is on a really low power transmitter that I can't get from 29 miles away with my Channelmaster 8-bay. Hopefully it gets picked up by one of the full power broadcasters.
Antenna Man, my local TV station, KSTP, here in the Twin Cities recently (in early July) added MeTV Toons as a subchannel (technically it's a subchannel of their other signal, KSTC, but it's part of their virtual channel group, 5.1 thru 5.8). Anyway, I've been able to add the channel on all my TVs and my Tablo, except for my Roku TV. I've attempted multiple rescans and have "started over" many times too without success. When I disconnected from the internet I could add it but when I reconnected it was dropped. I'm assuming it's something to do with Roku's database of information they have on channels for guide info, etc. Do you know anything about Roku TV's issues with not supporting the channel?
Not in Columbus, Ohio yet. I'm hearing that WHIO 7.4 in Dayton, Ohio is carrying ME TV Toons on that channel. Every once in awhile I only pick up WHIO 7.1 during skip conditions and never pick up the other WHIO subchannels in Columbus.
We have it in Richmond VA on 28.1 however, just like MeTV (12.2) can barely pick up the signal. MeTV looks good at certain times of the day but stays out more that it works. Only 11 miles from the transmitter but having to use an indoor antenna. Wish it was a more powerful signal like PBS has. That transmitter is nearly 20 miles away yet the signal comes in perfect 24/7. Completely frustrated with trying to get it. Tried several different antennas, thick cable and transmitter locator. No luck.
I'm in Baltimore, right in the middle of the city. The Washington station carrying MeTV Toons is low power and I can't get it here. WBAL TV 11 carries MeTV and I've contacted the station requesting the addition of MeTV Toons to its line-up. I've gotten no response and no indication that WBAL plans to add it. Disappointing.😢
Maybe a larger over the air antenna check with Tyler..Frndly TV does carry me toons and over 40 live channels for only about $7 a month it's a great deal. I have had frndly TV app. for over 3 years or more. The best of luck to you.
Unfortunately, where I’m at in Stanton, Virginia zip code 24401 we probably will not ever get it. Our local channel here one channel is carrying three of the networks, and the other network comes out of Charlottesville. So doubt they have any room left to add a channel on the local station.
I know it was probably expected with a subchannel, but note it's in 480i in most markets while it's in 720p on paid services like Frndly TV and Philo TV. I was a little bit disappointed with this fact, but still appreciate the channel for what it is, but for me it was quite distracting.
The satellite feeds (MeTV toons has two, one for both coasts) are in 480i, hence why there aren't any MeTV Toons channels in HD outside of Pay-TV. The best visual fidelity on offer in the air is widescreen-formatted 480i, being a common way to conserve bandwidth, especially with MPEG-4 not being common right now and having to work under a channel's 19-megabit payload.
Oh my god, Most of these shows. I watched almost all of them. The only one I haven't watched was Speed Racer. My parents didn't want me to watching ebcuase they felt it would get me too excited. I was very hyperactive and they didn't want to make my condition any worse.
Our area of south Colorado does not want to carry METV toons but yet keeps my networks TV alive. There a lot of viewers not happy about this as many are fed up with news and sports
It seems that most affiliates are broadcasting at 480p but the picture quality remains decent. It's 480p on my local affiliate and I didn't even realize it.
I don't think a 3kw carrier out of Norwell MA is going to serve the metro boston area. I've got a decent antenna in the clear on top of a 6 story building and can't scan it (supposedly virtual channel 62.3). Oh well... back to dreaming about all those old cartoons. Me TV works well, though.
WHIO in Dayton, OH added a new 7.4 channel covering MeTVToons, but my Tablo 4th gen has stopped updating channel line-ups and I can’t set my Tablo to record the channel.. Tablo is blaming the vendor who provides channel guide updates. What gives?

I set up my antenna last month(televes ellipse), running a line to my kids rooms this weekend with a crt tv

In Pittsburgh. MeTv is on Channel 11.2 WPXI. While MeTVToons is on 61.1 WOSC. This is one case where the MeTV channels are on 2 different stations.
Same thing in Cleveland Ohio (MeTv on WOIO 19.2/WTCL 6.2/WOHZ 6.2 and MeTV Toons on WOCV 35.3)
And those 6.2's both operate on RF 20 one in Cleveland Ohio and the other is in Canton Ohio)
Same in Sacramento. MeTV is on 3-2, MeTV Toons on 31-6.

I'm in the Detroit area and they stopped with MeTV last year, so I'm missing out on the best things I enjoyed in my childhood....

Nice living in Flint, where Ch 12 carries both MeTV and MeTV Toons.
Maybe a larger Ota antenna directional you will get it. I receive it and just have an indoor flat antenna. And I'm 60 miles sw west of Chicago..I am in a high rise about 40ft up. I do have frndly TV app which carries me toons and over 40 live channels for only about $ 7 A month..best of luck to you.
Antenna Man - I recently watched a video clip you provided regarding Frndly TV and local channels. My wife and I cut the cord recently and we are picking up locals on several TV's right now with rabbit ears. We had a large rooftop antenna recently removed that we had installed years ago when a new roof was completed. It was old and an eyesore but it did provide solid local channel reception. I had the roof installers save the wiring and they tucked it in under the second story northwest corner of the roof. The reception we get with the rabbit ears we now use comes and goes with the weather. I'd like to get a more modern antenna up off of the northwest corner of the roof. Do I need to sign up with your service to get a recommendation for this? I live in western PA near the Ohio border. The local channels we get actually come out of Youngstown, OH.
MeTV is on a Fox affiliate in my area, but the MeTVToon channel is on an ABC affiliate channel. It's strange but I like it.
On the air in Tucson. Unfortunately the program guide currently does not match what is being shown.
It’s supposed to be on out of Indianapolis, but apparently it’s on a low power “local” channel. So if you are not in the “metro” Indy area, you are SOL. They are NOT on a sub channel of the same channel as the regular MeTV station.
So sad I can’t pick it up here in Denver 😢

Hey Tyler, on my classic quad tablo, and my Toshiba TV. Both with antenna inputs the metv toon schedule has not loaded. And I'm in the Chicago land market. Any updates? Thanks
It's probably going to take a few days for the schedule to be input on the new channel. If it's not fixed by next week, contact the TV station.

I haven't had cable or satellite tv for over a decade and haven't used over the air free tv in a long time.
I have a smart tv with Frontier internet.
How do I watch this? Do I need a analogue or digital antenna or something like that.
Can I get some help: I use to have a box from the cable company, what I would do is keep it on a channel for a couple hours but did not watch it. I would rewind it as far as I could then skip/fast forward through the commercials...What are my options now? Now that I have OTA TV. Second question is there a way to connect to a station beyond out of reach via internet/RJ-45 that is OTA?
My Los Angeles people, don't make the mistake I did and confuse channel 27 for 54.3, it was coming in choppy on 27 until I realized that is for Ontario. Coming in loud and clear on 54.3!
54.3 is just MeTV, not toons. MeTV toons is on channel 27 with hit and miss reception 😢down here.

Unfortunately I can only receive most channels from one direction. I am in a lower lying area surrounded by tall buildings with a highway on one side 2nd floor apartment.
I was really looking forward to the launch, but then realized that the broadcast in Atlanta metro area is on a really low power transmitter that I can't get from 29 miles away with my Channelmaster 8-bay. Hopefully it gets picked up by one of the full power broadcasters.
Antenna Man, my local TV station, KSTP, here in the Twin Cities recently (in early July) added MeTV Toons as a subchannel (technically it's a subchannel of their other signal, KSTC, but it's part of their virtual channel group, 5.1 thru 5.8). Anyway, I've been able to add the channel on all my TVs and my Tablo, except for my Roku TV. I've attempted multiple rescans and have "started over" many times too without success. When I disconnected from the internet I could add it but when I reconnected it was dropped. I'm assuming it's something to do with Roku's database of information they have on channels for guide info, etc. Do you know anything about Roku TV's issues with not supporting the channel?
This is an issue with the guide data provider that Roku uses. Contact Roku to complain.
Not in Columbus, Ohio yet. I'm hearing that WHIO 7.4 in Dayton, Ohio is carrying ME TV Toons on that channel. Every once in awhile I only pick up WHIO 7.1 during skip conditions and never pick up the other WHIO subchannels in Columbus.
We have it in Richmond VA on 28.1 however, just like MeTV (12.2) can barely pick up the signal. MeTV looks good at certain times of the day but stays out more that it works. Only 11 miles from the transmitter but having to use an indoor antenna. Wish it was a more powerful signal like PBS has.
That transmitter is nearly 20 miles away yet the signal comes in perfect 24/7.
Completely frustrated with trying to get it. Tried several different antennas, thick cable and transmitter locator. No luck.

I'm in Baltimore, right in the middle of the city. The Washington station carrying MeTV Toons is low power and I can't get it here. WBAL TV 11 carries MeTV and I've contacted the station requesting the addition of MeTV Toons to its line-up. I've gotten no response and no indication that WBAL plans to add it. Disappointing.😢

Maybe a larger over the air antenna check with Tyler..Frndly TV does carry me toons and over 40 live channels for only about $7 a month it's a great deal. I have had frndly TV app. for over 3 years or more. The best of luck to you.
spoiled here in NYC - got it in 480i (squished 16x9) on 33.2 and then upscaled 720p 16x9 on 43.4! Toons for days!

I have been watching on our local station but the transmitter has been cutting out badly. They say they're working on it.
Unfortunately, where I’m at in Stanton, Virginia zip code 24401 we probably will not ever get it. Our local channel here one channel is carrying three of the networks, and the other network comes out of Charlottesville. So doubt they have any room left to add a channel on the local station.
I have a friend in ZIP 24149. Nothing within hundreds of miles of him it seems.
fantastic here in Chicago are I see catchy and retro tv as well but only get a black screen under retro after a rescan..but I do hear the audio

Unfortunately it’s not available over the air in Chesapeake Virginia yet.
I know it was probably expected with a subchannel, but note it's in 480i in most markets while it's in 720p on paid services like Frndly TV and Philo TV.
I was a little bit disappointed with this fact, but still appreciate the channel for what it is, but for me it was quite distracting.
The satellite feeds (MeTV toons has two, one for both coasts) are in 480i, hence why there aren't any MeTV Toons channels in HD outside of Pay-TV.
The best visual fidelity on offer in the air is widescreen-formatted 480i, being a common way to conserve bandwidth, especially with MPEG-4 not being common right now and having to work under a channel's 19-megabit payload.
Oh my god, Most of these shows. I watched almost all of them. The only one I haven't watched was Speed Racer. My parents didn't want me to watching ebcuase they felt it would get me too excited. I was very hyperactive and they didn't want to make my condition any worse.

Our area of south Colorado does not want to carry METV toons but yet keeps my networks TV alive. There a lot of viewers not happy about this as many are fed up with news and sports
The classic cartoons on Me-TV Toons are a lot more entertaining than the junk that airs on the "big" TV networks.

It seems that most affiliates are broadcasting at 480p but the picture quality remains decent. It's 480p on my local affiliate and I didn't even realize it.

I don't think a 3kw carrier out of Norwell MA is going to serve the metro boston area. I've got a decent antenna in the clear on top of a 6 story building and can't scan it (supposedly virtual channel 62.3). Oh well... back to dreaming about all those old cartoons. Me TV works well, though.
WHIO in Dayton, OH added a new 7.4 channel covering MeTVToons, but my Tablo 4th gen has stopped updating channel line-ups and I can’t set my Tablo to record the channel.. Tablo is blaming the vendor who provides channel guide updates. What gives?

It's cool that it's in my little market of grand rapids mi. I like to think it's because after I saw your video I emailed my local affiliate, however it was probably already in the works.

WMFP is in my state, but much too far and on RF 10. There are enough mergers and channel shakeups, the station may end up here some day.
