Just to note, when Vengeance and Arm's Length are both active, Arm's Length's counter that causes Slow will never trigger. This means you should try not to overlap the two, since AL's Slow effect will be wasted.
I’m still new to tanking and these vids on warrior is what helped me decide to get out of my dps comfort zone and give it a go! It’s been a lot of fun so far so thank you!
Thanks! This was actually straightforward and beginner friendly. I just recently got out of my DPS comfort zone to try out healing as a WHM which took a little time but I’m starting to get the hang of it. But i’ve been really nervous about tanking.
how to behave in dungeons as a tank is exactly what i was looking for!! as a beginner dungeons are a bit anxiety inducing so i played them with bots lol now i can practice doing the right thing ty
I was also very worried about healing and tanking in the beginning. But i learned that even if i fail it does not really matter that much. Most players are understanding and even if they are not you will probably never meet them again anyway. xD
yeah, I find most people don’t mind all that much as long as you’re at least trying, so just push yourself a little bit farther past your comfort zone and you’ll grow as a tank, while also not locking your party in the dungeon for 30 minutes. (Even if you die, it’ll still be faster than single pulling)
I started the game playing DPS, and was nervous about trying Tank or Healer. Marauder really was a great entry point for Tanks, it really helped me to relax more playing Tank.
your guides are consistently excellent but I do have to ask, why did you make this when Warrior will probably change its available skills and levels in under two months? I don't meant this offensively I'm just genuinely curious
So there's a few serious reasons and a few dumb reasons. First, I'm making them cause of the whole Xbox boom. Thought it would be nice to help new peeps out as the Idiots guides kinda jump around and aren't great for someone who knows nothing about the game. Second, I'm using them as a way for my own improvement with editing/video making as a whole. There are other reasons but those are the main ones. I know Dawntrail might possibly change the way the early levels work. And if those changes are significant, I'll make an update video in the future. I already know I'm not finishing the series before Dawntrail anyway so we shall see.
@@MegastarXIV Honestly, I still liked watching your vids as an intermediate player (no jobs above level 70, not finished with MSQ) just to get an idea of other jobs, how they play, and also what I should be doing better. I had it shared with me when I was first starting and I try to share as time goes on!
They’re changing low level stuff? I highly doubt that. He only talks from 1-50. Nothing is gonna be changed within those levels on the next expansion to cause worry.
Havent played this game in many years, re-subbed yesterday and I noticed that the arcanist changed a lot. So I looked up your guides to see how the jobs play these days and now I regret resubbing. They made all the classes over-complicated with 3+ different mechanics it's absurd. Other games are either low on mechanics but have a similar amount of abilities to use or have more mechanics but less abilities to use.
I also think it's over simplified and I haven't really been playing all that much. (ofc I'm a 1.0 player but still never did the hardest content) I mean... Summoner is called the most braindead dps out there over Machinist and that imo is the easiest class to play haha. They just switch up the rotation of each class a bit with some new mechanics on top every expansion but that's about it.
Ive thought about this a few times, games like WoW made things look easy by reducing the number of buttons in later xpacs, Tera just had combos into combos, etc, but FFXIV is feel is entirely to complicated and will turn people off, even things like crafting are way to long and drawn out.
Arcanist changed a lot because they reworked Summoner. If you are used to the old playstyle then obviously it will be abit confusing jumping back in with alot of changes. But in reality they made the job alot more simple and easy to play. Espacially in Higher levels.

the clearest guide to tank on the internet dude i appreciate you
I do hope the job trailer this week does not invalidate this guide too much. The quality is really solid.
This is throughly helpful as a new tank
I need a guide on your keybind/hotbar setup
I can't strain enough how well and fast I learned the jobs with your idiot's guides lol sounds like a joke but those are gold
Thank you! Super nice guide 😊

Dawntrail is out now and nothing is basically changed. xD

Haha that’s funny, a lot of veteran players are saying it’s over simplified. Interesting…
@@wg_rey because they play too much? :P
