They should have been happy to try out traditional food. That would be Italian in my family. My best friend in college was from Taiwan and made the best Chinese food I ever had. My parents were so happy when cooked for them when she stayed at our house. She could do awesome stuff with the base of an electric popcorn popper. To say the food at my college was nasty is was an understatement!!! LOL
