Wish Windows was just fixed, THE FONTS ARE CHOPPED WITH A SAW AND PIXELATED BY VARIOUS COLORS, The multitasking interface stutters, lags choppily zooms apps content in and out disorderly, sometimes with unexpected delays and COMPLETE LACK OF SMOOTHNESS. It's completely a software issue, particularly Windows OS issue! This happens on newest high spec SSDs bundled with modern hardware.
Why do you LOVE an ancient, outdated USB port? Microsoft is crippling the transition to USB-C. Apple went all in for their MacBooks in 2016, yet 8 years later Microsoft is still doing what it can to slow things down.

@@theinktician it looks like they have upped the low end build on this. The first gen started at $1599, but that was with an i5 and 256. The next step up was an i5 and 512 at $1799. The second gen starts at $1999, but has an i7 and 512. So not so much of a price increase as just not offering the lower skus.
All we wanted was a Surface Book 4 last year, and nobody wanted this and it remains unchanged this year. The Book was the best design you ever had, and probably the best design I've ever owned in my 30 years of laptops...I'm typing on one now.
i agree but if you detached the screen i have to shutdown my 3D modeling software because the GPU isn't happy.. though will never beat a 15" fully operational tablet on windows ughhh
Screen battery was worthless, which was sad since I would've like to do more on just the screen. Surface Laptop Studio is the best of both. I can easily fold the screen without having to remove and flip it and put it in any position while lying on the couch using it. This Laptop Studio 2 has improvements including performance, full-size USB, and microSD.

@@sullfolife you can literally do the exact same form factor with the Book. Take screen off, flip it backwards, and put it back on and fold flat. Maybe you knew this but I'm surprised at how many Book users didn't. Plus when the Book is folded, it's not as thick as the Studio.

I love my Surface Laptop Studio 1, because of the convertible form factor and the excellent heat management. I wish the lid was easier to open without accidentally flipping it though, and having a custom proprietary port is silly. Glad to see more ports and other improvements in the new one.
As a fellow SLS1 user, I disagree with some of your points. The Surface Connect port is amazing! I much prefer it to charging via USB-C, which you can also do on the SLS1, since it is magnetic. I also rarely flipped the lid when opening the laptop. I guess you need a bit different technique compared to other laptops. However, I got used to it after a half week or so.

Honestly, when I bought my Surface Laptop Studio after saving almost 10 months of wages, the Surface Laptop Studio doesn't disappointed me, through the years I had alot of computers from different brands, the the this PC, was far the best that I've ever used I my whole life. I am happy that now I will not need to save a bunch of money for months to buy this new Laptop Studio 2, because I live now I a better country unlike Angola where you literally work to pay taxi
I'm extremely tempted but I ended up buying a Surface Pro 9 and M1 MacBook Pro 14" last year so I can't really justify a 2nd laptop-type device, and I wouldn't give up the Pro 9 due to the portability. I only buy Surface for my PCs because I just find them so good as an overall package, even if not the best in every single area - I had an RT, Pro 3, Pro 5 2017, Surface Book 2, Pro 8, Pro 9.
Having used the SLS1 for two years, I wish they had a bigger/sturdier version, 16" with better mechanism to turn the display and lock it in any place would be perfect because I use it tablet mode 99% of the time.

I'm absolutely satisfied with my SLS1 - I went full specs on it (11th Gen i7, 32 GB RAM, 2TB storage) and it does everything I want it to do and more. The extra performance and USB-A slot might be great, but I'm happy enough with what I've got for the moment, so I'll hold onto it and get my money's worth out of it. Maybe in a couple of years they'll release the SLS3 and then I might think it worth it for the upgrade

I hope the next generation of the Laptop Studio to adopt the new Intel Core Ultra chips, probably 4x Thunderbolt 4 Ports, a Full size SDXC Card Reader, an HDMI Port, and keep the USB port it’s a welcome update, you guys should probably add an ARM Co-Processor to act as a security enclave, ISP, AI Engine, and utilize the CPU and GPU of that Co-Processor to run Android Apps natively on the Co-Processor instead of the Intel chip

But wouldn't an Intel + Qualcomm ARM co-processor hurt Surface Laptop Studio's price and battery life because it's basically running two different processors in the background, and as far as I know these two different processor don't know how to talk to each other efficiently. So the battery life could be jeopardized.
@@mancerrss Intel solved the coprocessor problem by releasing Movidius, their neural processor. Additionally, Intel has co-opted ARM design heuristics in it's current architecture to improve heat and battery in laptops.

I had a Sony vaio duo which had the screen at that angle and it's so comfortable to use. That one has the keyboard at the front and a little optical nub to do the mouse cursor which worked perfectly.

Surface Book was the best of both worlds, slim tablet from the Surface Pro line, and strong physical base from the laptop line. Bought a Surface Laptop to replace my Book 1, but i don't even use it much since i can't use it as a tablet anymore.
I've been saying this since they killed their best laptop - The Book. Give me a metal keyboard base with a built in Nvidia card and battery for the Surface pro and voila ! a new Book.

Fixes every issue with SLS1. I never got the SLS1 due to its limitations of power and ports, now I'm probably in.

Well, it has a coprocessor...and if you need ALL those ports, might I recommend an external docking station.

I checked this one out at Best Buy and the only downsides is that it is heavy and the battery does not last long it’s advertised as 7 hours

I know there's still a lot of fanboyism these days but I feel like this Surface laptop studio is what Steve Jobs would have made his engineers create if he was still with us, it's like what a Macbook should be in 2023. Very cool, I wish it wasn't so expensive though
Steve Jobs was opposed to touch screen laptops so not sure how accurate that is. Not to mention, they don't want to cannibalize their ipad sales so I don't expect theyll release anything like this anytime soon
