Water, ice and dragon
I'm a Huge Fire Trainer
Dragon, Steel and Water
My favorite Pokémon types are Water 💧 Dark 🌙 Rock 🪨 Ground ⛰️ dragon 🐉 Fire 🔥 Flying 🌀 Fighting 🔶 Steel ⚙️ Electric ⚡️
Love your content guys 😊😊😊
In case anyone doesn't know, the reason why Fairy types are weak to Steel is because in Old English Folklore, fairies were vulnerable to iron
no the reason for "why" is because it does 0.5x damage to steel types as is programmed in each game. na but seriously not all type matchups have a theme or a story behind the effectiveness. steel resists more than half of all the types, and thats mainly just because its the most solid dense "material" to many other type attacks. but yeah its nice that theres a theme/story there but not all matchups have one cos theres too many to really go into
@@TraXXXtargood grief, you took twice as long as the comment to say 'not at matchups have a theme' when this is one that clearly has an old inspiration. Just like Fairy is strong against Dragon because Fairytales teach us Dragons can be beaten. Kalos is even based off Western Europe (Paris specifically) and does a bunch of other stuff with fairies and fairytales and spooky shit.
Like dude if you're gonna pick a hill to die one, at least have a hill first.
@@thomaswillard6267 yeeeeeah i started rambling but i wanted to point out that the fairy into steel thing feels a bit too forced and although the other steel defense weaknesses (fire, fighting etc) arent good explanations for why steel is bad in defense against them, i wanted to mention that steel just being solid enough against these other types including fairy is better than an obscure reference about fairy vs steel/iron. if we rely too much on thematics, the type balance would be even worse. theres always gonna be good and bad types but its better to close the gaps as much as possible rather than enforce any obscure thematics including fairytales saying dragons can be beaten or whatever. that one doesnt make sense and the better explanation is just, fairy was made to make dragons weaker, therefore its better to put it in your head that fairy pokemon have stronger magical powers than dragon pokemon attacks and powers. the kalos stuff you mentioned is also kinda rambly too tbh and ive rambled too much here aswell now so imma stop.........quickly doe last thing, i just think the way i explain "my" mindset of looking at type matchups is better than just looking for forced thematics or just staying upset about how certain matchups are in that world and hating all of pokemon for it aight im done
Ice may be one of the worst types of Pokemon, but Ice type moves are easily amongst the best types of moves; given it's consistent ultra effectiveness against pseudo legendary Pokemon. And both Ice and Rock are kind of the opposite of Steel in those regards. But yes, Steel and Dragon both being the two bests given their giant pool of resistances + Dialga is a combo of those two types. Water is the best of the original 3 for sure with Electric also deserving to be in the top 5. Psychic would have easily been number 1 a long time ago though.
dont forget Duraludon
@@mr.sporty2094 And Archaludon
Speaking of which, if I were to rank the types, it would look something like this.
18) Bug
17) Ice
16) Poison
15) Rock
14) Grass
13) Normal
12) Flying
11) Ground
10) Dark
9) Fighting
8) Ghost
7) Psychic
6) Fire
5) Electric
4) Water
3) Fairy
2) Steel
1) Dragon
Dragon type Pokémon are still some of the best Pokémon out there. They’re so cool that they made one of Charizard Mega Evolutions into a Fire Dragon type, & that’s saying a lot
Don't one thing year of the Dragon 2024
Great video.
Ashley...I think you just made alot of fans extremely happy, with Dragon-types ranked number one, myself included, so thank you.
Dragons have always been my favorite types, even though I can't play the games anymore, due to poor vision.
After that...Eeveeloutions.
My favorite Pokemon are Sneasel/Weavile, Scyther/Scizor, Growlithe/Arcanine, Kangaskhan, Happiny/Chansey/blissey, Snorlax, Lapras(Gen I it gets SolarBeam via TM.), Gyarados, the Starters(All gens), Ampharos, Marill/Azumarill, Hitmonchan/Hitmonlee/Hitmontop, and so many more.
This will end up badly XD
I can’t wait for the FIRE storm to begin on this topic
I don’t know man I think this was the one time these guys weren’t biased because steel at least got number 2 let’s go!!!!!!!!!!!!!🎉
I don’t think so, some placements could be debated but for the most part the placements are pretty accurate, and the reasoning are also common arguments in the PKM community
CRITICAL HIT! IT'S NOT VERY EFFECTIVE!
@@perritoshido5845I think it honestly really comes down to one issue, mainly that judging each type as a whole is really difficult and broad. Some types are better than others at doing what they do and you can rank them on so many levels.
- The types themselves
- The best pokemon under each type
- The movepulls under each type
- How often each type can be used as a splash typing (for instance, how often can you teach a move type to a pokemon of a different typing)
These are all X factors that need to be considered.
dying for a dragon type eevee, or a flying (i feel like an eevee with wings would be cool asf)
I feel like Fire Deserved more because of how it resists 2 of the BEST Types (Steel and Fairy) and being Super Effective to Steel and also having the 2nd Most resistances, Water is just too much, Literally and Figuratively
Yeah no. Fire is great but it is weak to 2 of the most prevalent types being water and ground.
@@memestar1118 But Fire is Effective against the Type that is Strong to Both Water and Ground
Well it was a brilliant video, the first I’ve seen in a long time but when are you gonna do more top 10 lists? I’d really like to see a top 10 water type Pokemon list or normal or fairy. Please do those lists again. Thank you
Fairy type is my favorite 🩷 they're cute and strong! Best combination ever 😁
Bug is worse than ice imo as ice is a great offensive typing, not to mention the recent buff the ice type gained on the defensive side (even if ice has no resistances other than itself).
Ashley the next video title is about Most powerful Pokemon Moves🌀🔥🌊⛰️⚡🌪️
Ice types (my favorite) are basically glass cannons but. Normal types should be higher, they can learn basically any type of move plus. Slaking is a BEAST!
I found funny how the worst type (ice) is super efective against the best type (dragon).
Since Gen 5, Bug-Types have shown a much more substantial increase in usage. But still, Bug needs a a bigger buff, but what?
Bugs should resist and be offensively strong against Fairy type. Honestly, I think that's enough.
Dark and Fire are in the top ten of this list and I'm happy.
Hey, WatchMojo. How about you guys do a list of Top 20 Cutest Pokemon? I have a couple of examples you guys should mention.
Examples:
Eevee
Pikachu
Jigglypuff
Togepi
Skitty
Oshawott
Piplup
Teddiursa
Pichu
Smoochum
Dendenne
Clefairy
Minccino
Pachirisu
Plusle & Minun
Vulpix
Emolga
What do you think, WatchMojo? Would you mind doing this list to include more of these cute pokemon?
Hey, Watchmojo. How about you guys do Top 10 Pokemon Generations?
Examples:
Top 10 Pokemon Generation 4
Top 10 Pokemon Generation 5
Top 10 Pokemon Generation 6
Top 10 Pokemon Generation 7
Top 10 Pokemon Generation 8
Please do it.
honestly if bug/steel wasnt double weak to fire it would be the best type combo... i mean 8 resistances and 1 immunity... if it wasnt for the fact that ember is basicly death to them they would dominate
Dragon is my absolute favorite type of Pokemon because I really love dragons. Plus, it’s a very popular type for legendaries, as well as pseudo-legendaries.
I also like Fighting types because they have very unique fighting styles, and it’s a popular secondary type for starter Pokemon.
That was awesome, love seeing the list 🤩, I’m surprised dragon was first 🐉🥰
Top 3 should have been:
3-Dragon
2-Fairy
1-Steel
Yes❤
My thoughts on each type:
Grass: Cool designs but the starters are the ones we all want.
Fire: My favourite type.
Water: They're everywhere that I swear I use at least one in every game. Also anything Grass types can handle Water can do better.
Electric: 2nd only to Fire as my favourite. And a lot speedy Pokemon too.
Normal: Don't underestimate this type. There are many strong Pokemon that are of this type. Snorlax and Slaking chief among them. And god himself Arceus.
Flying: Basically a sub-type for the most part but a useful one though. Also got have a bird on the team even though we don't need to nowadays thanks to fast-travel.
Bug: Gen V really made bugs stronger. I'm looking at you Volcarona.
Poison: I hate this type but the stall strategies are effective.
Rock: Uh never really used Rock types that much. Even I when do they're only temporary members.
Psychic: Overrated. Strong but since Gen 2 Dragons now reign supreme.
Ground: Good all-round type.
Ice: Great offence. Terrible defensive type. Best used as a coverage type for Water types.
Ghost: Ghost's weren't a counter to Psychic's Gen 1 don't let those NPC's lie to you. But since Gen 2 they actually do their job. I actually prefer them over Dark types.
Fighting: So useful against the really sturdier Pokemon.
Dragon: No explanation needed. Just dial back on the legendaries Game Freak. One generation with no Dragon type legendaries please!
Dark: As mentioned earlier I like Ghosts more. Immunity to Psychic attacks is a plus though.
Steel: Rock type but better.
Fairy: The bane of Dragon's. If Black and White remakes happen use this type, there are a lot of dragons in Unova.
Great job on the video Ash. My favorites will always be Electric, Dragon, Psychic and Water.
One major problem with Electric Types isn't weakness, resistence, or effectiveness. It's the lack of movepools for a lot of them. It's probably the type overall that has the most amount of Pokemon that don't cover type matchups well.
Good lord this list is bad, dragon isn’t even a top 3 type since it has 2 weaknesses and is only strong to itself, fairy, steel, and water are far better types
Fairy not being No. 1 is inexplicable 🙄
I understand how good dragon type moves are but fairy imo just covers both the physical & special move sets so much better.
Facts
The top 10 will always be
Water , Ground , Fighting , Dragon , Steel , Fire , Ghost , Fairy , Psychic , Electric
Some honorable mentions: Flying , Dark , Normal , Ice
Note:Yeah Tyranitar rocks , but not all Rock types unfortunately
Note2:Ice beats Grass.Yeah not the best defensive typing but it does many things better than Grass
Note3:Let's be honest in terms of carriage through the journey , Water and Flying are definitely on number 1 and 2 because Fly , Surf and Waterfall
Steel types also have a weakness to water as well if it's part ground or rock type otherwise just fighting ground and fire
I've seen the argument that Fairy or Steel are number 1, not Dragon. I personally think Steel is best on the defense but not on the offense so it depends on your strategy.
Personally, I'm just glad Fairy wasn't number 1, really just cause I think it's a dumb typing, and that most of the Fairy type designs introduced were horrendous. Nowadays they've done better, but back in gen 6, most of the Fairy designs were hot garbage.
Anyways, favorite typing is Steel, mainly for the opposite reasons. I mean, just look at the base designs for Steel types anyway, Magneton and Steelix are already top tier.
But then we got Metagross and Skarmory, Aggron and Empoleon, and eventually Excadrill and Escavalier, plus Aegislash's whole line.
You missed Weather type then again there is only one Pokemon throughout the entire franchise which is that.
I think Steel types should've been #1 😅
Electric and Dragon are the coolest
Next Thing u know,
Theres probably going to be a SPACE TYPE
like YuGiOhs GALAXY TYPE
If this were a list on which type had the coolest looking Pokémon steel would be number 1 and fairy types would be lower fight me comments section!!!
How wasn't normal last? They only have weaknesses and aren't super effective against anything.
Normal only has one defensive weakness, and while it doesn't resist anything, it is immune to Ghost. Also, Normal is one of the less resisted types, as aside from Ghost being immune to it, only Rock and Steel resist Normal.
Ice is far worse than Normal, as it only resists itself and is weak to four types. Rock and Grass are each weak to five types, and Bug and Grass are each resisted by seven types while only being super effective against three (in Bug's case, it's super effective against mediocre types, while with Grass, Water can better handle Ground and Rock, and Electric can better handle Water. Also, Ground, Fighting, and Steel can also better handle Rock). Not to mention Bug has the lowest fully evolved base stat total on average of all types.
Dragon types will always be the best. Nothing can beat them.😊❤❤ Cool and cute combination. 🐲
I hope pokemon makes new types for gen 10
3. Dragon
2. Fairy
1. Steel
For me❤
Psychic should be in the top 3. Mewtwo’s still second strongest next to the creator itself.
Ice is currently quite good. How old is this list? Because it's published 2 days ago.
This the "tell me your not a VGC player without telling me you are a not VCG player" list 😂
I mean, just being a pokemon like the rest makes all Pokemon type as pokemon.
Water💙
My Rankings:
18. Bug
17. Ice
16. Rock
15. Fairy
14. Poison
13. Grass
12. Normal
11. Ground
10. Flying
9. Fighting
8. Dark
7. Ghost
6. Water
5. Steel
4. Psychic
3. Dragon
2. Fire
1. Electric
Water may be the best starter type but let’s be real, they are the worst designed.
They nerfed dragon types by making an even stronger type and the steel types that are also a top tier became even stronger, well done game freak sarcasm
Such a great video I absolutely love your explanation behind the order of all of these types!
Pokébark gotta climb then all
There are only 3 pure Flying types, 2 of which evolve into a steel flying type and the last one is a Legendery so you can almost say that there is no pure flying type
You’d think ice would resist water.
What happens when you pour water on ice? It expands
I’m sure there’s gonna be a lot of Pokémon fans wars in the comment section
my favorite type water made in the top 5 so i cant complain!!!!
Psychics and Dragons had the most impact since Game Freak had to create new types to deal with them
I was just happy my fav type (steel) was number 2 I can live with that
Fairy or Steel should be number 1 (I haven't watched the video yet)
I prefer steel honestly
Choose your side Charizard or Blastoise
Fairy type is my favorite Pokémon type! 🩷🤗🌟
Every type is common according to this 🤣
I stopped caring after the original 150
Ghost is my favorite type
How can you rank types🤔 and how is water better than fire type🤷
Ice types are made to be good at Attacking but 99% or all ice types have high Defense and Sp. Defense. what makes it even worse is that almost all water type pokemon can learn ice beam and a type with good defense always get a good offensive attack
They should Skylanders or some of the most famous RUclipsrs
I think snow teams are really good they make ice type Pokémon incredibly bulky and it helps them kill Pokémon quicker with the weather on the field. I do not think that ice types suck is really the truth anymore and we have gen 9 to thank for giving them buffs.
My favorite type of Pokemon is all of them
WatchMojo used all items at once
How tf does Dragon actually land no1 while Steel is no2 LOL ?
♪ Think twice about Ice to be #1! ♪
Dragons are so feckin overrated
Bug is literally the best type, wtf you saying 🫠
My favorite pokemon is Charizard.
Well at least fighting type is in the top ten because it is my favorite type
This will be a huge debate lol. U can’t rank the type like that
God, I HATE fairies 😒
I believe that grass and steel were put too low on this list. Also electrolytes are far more powerful than they used to be.
Let's just admit it, all Pokemon are cool. Also it's nice getting to see Pokemon in different ways, such as the animated series, or live action Ryan Reynolds one or the new series. I have grown up with and will always love Pokemon.
I for once think that Fire Types are legit top tier dude
Yes ❤
12:02, Well Despite What The Anime Said, It Technically Wasn't Always That Way, It Wasn't Until Gen II That Ghost-type Moves Were Super Effective Against Psychic-types, In Fact Not Only Was The Opposite True, But Psychic-types Were Originally Immune To Ghost-type Moves, Although The Fact That Gastly, Haunter, And Gengar Are Part Poison-type, That Doesn't Really Change Much
There was also an NPC in-game that said that Ghost was supereffective against Psychic, so it was probably just coded wrong. However gen 1 had the problem of only having 3 ghost type attacks: Confuse Ray, which is a status move, Night Shade, which is a set-damage move and Lick with only 30 base power so the Psychic types wouldn't suffer too much in gen 1 anyways
Grass was always my favourite, despite its drawbacks. If they can learn Rock moves, they can hit 4 out of 5 of its weaknesses. Ghost and Steel were also favourites of mine, while Fire being my next favourite starter type. If Fire types can learn Solar Beam, it can counter its weaknesses.
Thanks for useful and valuable video as always ❤❤❤
Light type pokemon
What about Every Yu-Gi-Oh type ranking of these listed types?
Aqua, Pyro, Thunder, Rock, Plant, Machine, Beast, Winged Beast, Insect, Fish, Reptile, Dragon, Dinosaur, Sea Serpent, Wyrm, Spellcaster, Zombie, Fiend, Fairy, Warrior, Beast Warrior, Psychic, Cyberse, Divine Beast
Video suggestion:
Top Pokemon game mechanics that fans loved/hated.
Top new/other games ideas that Pokemon needs to try.
-Example: Gym leader simulator.
-E2: Old art style Kanto game. Based on this fan trailer for such a game.
-E3: One main game, different storyline outcome depending on your choices.
Ten things people need to know about game developing.
The unused type combos we have in Pokémon are poison/ice, fairy/fire, fairy/ground and dragon/bug
soooo.....i play pokemon go...and i have the following types: Fairy, Psychic, Fire, Ice, Electric, Rock, Grass, Poison, and Dragon....and I Fight with water, Ice, Fairy and steel types....i love all mah pokemon XD and if you play pokemon VIA VR...you can pet the pokemon too pikachu is sooo soft XD
Seviper been getting bodied this whole video lol
This ranking sucks ground at 11. This nub doesn’t know that every successful competitive team requires a ground type pokemon. You Don't want to give free volt switch momentum to your opponent.
Generally agree with this list, though I would rank ground way higher than 11. It's a credibly and reliably offensive threat, and a staple for move slots in a lot of playthroughs, casually and competitively.
I think steel is better than dragon because while dragon types usually have better stats, steel resists and effectively damages more types. But good ranking overall
dragon types for me personally ❤
As an ice type fan I have a question how does it feel to be at the receiving end of a overpowered frostlas with a abomnisnow working together abomnisnows blizzard with frostlas’s snowcloak well that’s how I became a ice type fan
Dragon will forever be #1
Dragon only hits Dragon effectively therefore isn’t number 1.
Fighting types is one of my favorite types.
Ah!
Hear me out I think none of these Pokémon types suck because even the weak Pokémon types have strong members in them.
fairy types cant be nerfed...unless you account for their cuteness factor XD
