I wish I grew up in the 80s and 90s. They seemed like nice time periods.
You would have no internet
I know doesn't it sound great
ʝєииιfєя L So what?
Nah. They had the good and the bad like every decade.
I grew up in the 80's & 90's. It was a pretty great time in my opinion. I really miss those days.
youger kids dont realize that the 90s fashion was our take on 70s clothes. Also, there are two periods of fashion in the 90s, early and late. Early was plaid, baggy, ripped clothes and late was tighter, brighter and cleaner.
I’m one of those. And I’m 28 today
Lol XD
I don’t know anything about fashion no matter what decade..
Except Goth, Emo and “Prep” fashion
XD
Well our fashion now is our take on 80s and 90s clothes. Fashion repeats itself (and improves lol)
Also, the early 90's had a lot of late 80's fashion, music, and graphic design lingering around. Just as the early 80's had a lot of the 70's still hanging around.
Eden Gallagher the Grunge back then is now just Revolutionary of what’s coming this year and in the Future.
and people now don’t realise 2000s/2010s was our take on 90s clothes and some 80s
I wish I was born in the 90's because I think it would be way cooler to have no social media
I remember facebook being available when I was maybe 16 and it was not yet that popular, before that we had only skyrock blogs, myspace and in the 90's the most social media thing you could do is make people sign your school photos XD, it was fun. You really had to make an effort to reach out to people so it had it's positives and negatives, I just don't like how everyone can stalk you now and that if you mess up online it is permanently embedded in the web :s
You would have had to been born way before to not grow up with Internet and social media at all. I was born in '91 and I had my own phone when I was ten. Sure, I could only use it for calls but a few years later I've already had a MySpace account. Technology evolved REMARABLY fast during the past years and still continuous to do so.
+91clarie remarkably
***** well I never said I did not have internet, just said that social media was not really a thing. Everybody have their own personal experience, I had my first mobile phone at 17 and my first smart phone at 22 :P
Butterfly Clips and mood rings aren't in fashion either.
These are literally the same trends we have now... excluding the butterfly clips
GOD how I hated the butterfly clips
Fashion styles often recycle themselves throughout the years
I think everyone knows that, we've been taught that in school. In some way, I think these sorts of videos are almost useless because the trends are the same practically all the time or have very little time in-between. Chokers and crop tops for example have been around for a long while, but it's just the small details that change. Also, the things we remember eras by are completely selective, so...
True a lot of the 90s style is coming back but in different ways
Yea, thts because it's being recycled. But those were distinct fashion trends that were niche to the 90s. This decade don't know what it will be defined by.
OTHERS: Bomber jackets, doc martens, LA raiders hats, bandanas, ski goggles, cool caps (well, in the hip hop world), wearing tshirts around the waist, chain bracelets on jeans, punk mohawk spikes, baggy jeans, sports apparel, disney apparel.
CaapriceTube Man I love bomber jackets and bandanas, and I'm not even from that decade! 😂😂
Yankees jackets. Starter jackets
Flannel for the grunge scene and shirts that said BUM equipment
yup, remember that bum gear circa ‘95-‘96 😎✌️
Black leather jackets... i wonder why they didn't mention them. They were the biggest trend.
The 90s were the golden age of fashion and music
that´s why you´re up our arse
Nope! Its the 80’s
judy walter 80s, Golden Age, and fashion don’t belong in the same sentence unless you’re saying it wasn’t the golden age. 80s fashion was tragic
Ana Carl yeah 80s fashion was tragic, and music genres like hair metal were becoming shit, in my opinion the 90s were better, grunge ended that hair metal thing, and music was just better, 90s and fashion... I personally love it
I mean the 90s had Nirvana and all that grunge stuff
I was a teenager of the 90's and the big things for us were baby doll dresses, flannel plaid shirts, bodysuits, vests, waffle shirts or shirts made from long underwear material, doc Martins, those hair bands that had claws and wrapped around your head, baggy jeans, and anklets.
already 80´s styles
Ahh! The days of Grunge
Yaaaaaas!! The babydoll dresses!! I had so many! My favorite was my patchwork one. I remember a lot of patchwork stuff. Even patchwork denim with all the different shades of denim on em.
Yep you captured the 90s perfectly
All I remember were Delia's catalogs
all of them are trends right now...
They started in those decades and came back this year
The 90's are back, baby!
I don't know how I feel about that, though.
True we still use most of these trends but in different ways
TRUU all bc of tumblr lmao
The platform shoes are just now making a comeback
This made me wanna rewatch JawBreakers & CLUELESS
Lol same, I'm loading them up right now 😂
Was seriously just about to see if I can find jawbreaker free on RUclips.
Hanna Phe nostalgia
Omg Jawbreacker! That’s one of my favorites (that I totally forgot about until now). Thank you!
Yes i need to go to Netflix now.
You missed a 90’s fashion staple: the babydoll ditsy flower print dress with a baby tee underneath!!! Accessorized with a choker and combat boots. 🙌🙌🙌
ah yes, when combat boots were still in
I wish I was a teenager in the 90s. The 90s fashion is way better than now and I love 90s music . The only thing I like about now is the technology and the natural hair movement. Everything else now is shit .
deelite were in their 30´s the styles were not created by teenagers in the 90´s
I was!!! I graduated high school in 97
@@carmendilcherd4765 you are so lucky!! I am literally just gonna step into high school this year April!!
Hey can still do those trends of the 90s who cares for someone judge your retro style I do believe me retro guy who cares what people think of me . I hope you have same confidence as me . I don’t why people care about what people think and don’t do their own thing . Life is too short dress whatever you want don’t have to be in style. I hope you have a good luck day/night. 🍀
I'm in my 50s and I'm totally digging the glitzy tee shirt thing of the 2000s
No mention of body glitter and hair mascara? Those were trending like crazy during the late 90s
Too many trends in the 90s, could have done a top 20!
Oh I remember hair mascara.
I practically covered myself in body glitter 😂
Yep! I was thinking body glitter, matte lipstick, and metallic on everything...especially the late 90s...
Hey! I'm in my..don't wanna say my age..lol..but I still love shimmer body cream..
Emphasis where the sunlight hits that's complementary..lol
Shimmer not glitter..
You're right 🙂
Buffy was the biggest trendsetters. Willows bucket hat and overalls, Buffy's clothes too. Chokers and hair clips. Buffy did it all. If you want to see 90's clothing, watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Also Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
I also had Jelly slippers. Mine were purple.. I wore them everywhere.
Sara Johnstone Friends, My So Called Life, Blossom, 90210 were just as much if not more so setting the trends of the 90s
those styles were mainly old by then definitely not a fucking trendsetter
And moesha she used to wear some bomb clothes
Best era. Proud to be a 90s kid ❤️
Overalls are gonna make a comeback.
They sell overalls now in stores . They already came back.
lmao it came back like 2 or 3 years ago, still unflattering.
Queen LeLe
I know but people need to wear them more
Zoe Gappa Go to Korea, people wear them a lot.
I've been wearing my moms short overalls from the early 90's as of lately. They are making a bit of a comeback!
1) dark eyebrows that were thinly tweezed 2) choker jewelry 3) clean calvin Klein minimalism 4) blond highlights a la NSync! 5) black nylon Prada backpack 6) huge wide flared denim jeans 7) cher Horowitz's plaid suit with Mary Jane shoes (such a mood) 8) Mariah Carey and her obsession with butterflies 9) GAP capri pants or cargo pants - these are all some of my favorite 90s things
I went from 80's fashion to grunge to modern flower child in the 90's, so a lot of this was relevant to me. haha But where were the babydoll tees, jean jackets, mini-dresses, cardigans, & Birkenstocks? And what about leotards w/ jeans? Layering? Combat boots? Biker shorts? And glitter? Glitter everywhere!!! haha Good times...
I know! As a 90s teenager babydoll dresses and Doc Marten boots were necessities in my wardrobe!
YES!!
oh yea birkenstocks!! haha totally forgot about those!
Janine Rogers agreed. I owned an unreasonable amount of slip dresses, baby doll dresses, crop tops, and mini skirts. And they only looked right with Doc Martens or chunky assed Mary Janes. I had several pairs of patent leather Mary Janes....still actually have a couple, but they are so chunky, square toed and ugly they are basically like birth control. 😆 The choker bit was spot on. I actually just rocked cat collars with rhinestones all through high school. My fashion choices were serious....😂 Some of them serious mistakes, yet I regret nothing!
Yea. They totally missed the mark on not including baby doll dresses.
I wore a mood ring and overalls when I was in high school in the 70's. It's true that if you keep your old stuff long enough, they'll come back in style.
The bucket hat has definitely made a full comeback.
Ew.
Yeah in like 2012
I wear a bucket hat when doing archery, in fact bucket hats are very popular with female archers
I loved being a teenager in the mid-90s :D
funny deelite were like 30
Transparent backpacks? Flared jeans? Anyone remembers these?
Literally most of these are still around or is in the process of being revived...
I hate how how most shirts in some stores are crop tops
Saame. What if I don't want to wear a crop top? Huh, stores, huh?
I don't think your ready for my belly😂😂
Then go to another store that doesn't sell crop tops. It's not that hard to find.
I feel yah. It's like "aww what a cute shirt" *takes it out* "annnd it's half a shirt" lmao
even "normal" shirts are to short for me -_-
this is late 90s fashion trends. the early 90s trends were different.
no some are also 80´s
They vaguely covered with the plaid... Early 90's is pretty much the 80's on it's way out....
Early 90s was a mix up of 80s trends and grunge style
late 90s was the best part of that decade, so much hope and optimism in the air.
90% of these trends are present in Clueless. That film is ICONIC
"Seattle grunge is locked away in the past" you sure about that? because as someone who's been living in Seattle for roughly 14 years, it's still in action. it's mostly with the adults, though. my parents never grew out of it.
Майкл К. Omfg grunge fashion is still very much a thing, sooo many people was wearing nirvana t shirts it literally annoys/bothers those that actually listen too nirvana,
I Fucking love Grunge
@@xzack8848 or Pearl Jam, Soundgarden,Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
1990s/2000s fashion for women is what I love the most. The 70s, 80s somewhat (excluding high waist jeans) and 2010s fashion mostly I hate. I love the low rise and high waist jeans almost somewhat equally.
they forgot the trend when alot of woman wanna look like Selena Quintanilla
Lovi Lyall Or the wanted to look like Pamela Anderson. Brown lip liner with light listick and sperm eyebrows lol
@@TheKillerQueenfan yesss they should have talked about the 90s signature makeup.
I love Selena❤
You forgot JNCO jeans, chain wallets, bead bracelets, puffer jackets (the ones that looked like marshmallow) wife beaters and so many more
Oh god puffer jackets came back in fashion not too long ago, thankfully not for long
AngelDRose They sure missed a lot. I remember the chain wallet and wife beaters lol. Fashion can be so terrible sometimes!
@AngelDRose now your post reminds of the 90s more than the video. Also Khakis were worn a lot.
that came out in the 80´s and earlier
Omg. JNCOs. I’m proud to say I never owned or wore a pair....but many, many, many of my friends rocked them daily. All the raver/Party kid fashion was pretty fucking terrible. Remember visors? And not for the beach...just Adidas visors on a random day for no reason. Also pacifiers worn as a necklace. So much nope!!!
Being a 90s kid was awesome. This brought back a lot of great memories
i still wear mood rings and platforms are a goth fashion staple .....ditto with chokers
Can't forget black crotchet dresses :)
Goth Moth I am punk goth
Doc Marten boots were EVERYWHERE!
I have a brown pair from 95. The shoelaces eventually came apart. I still wear them in winter
Did all of these but youre missing Aline skirts, granny dresses or babydoll dresses, dresses over tees, tanks over tees, knee highs, mary janes, baby barretts, red hair ala Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, brown lipstick, plucked eyebrows, brown lipliner with light lipstick ala Pam Anderson, underwear or boxers sticking out of pants, combat boots, french twist combs or hair clips to put your hair in a spiky twist. Body glitter. Belly bracelets. Fake nose rings with or without chain. Arm bracelets. Smaller back packs in leather or denim to be used as your purse. Holey jeans. Jnkos.Corduroys. Denim shirts and denim on denim. Turtlenecks. Poet shirts. The ones with the ruffles down the front and bell sleeves. Vests were big. Structured ones or crocheted, long or short to wear over white tee with jeans or a longer crocheted one to wear with your granny dress and laced up boots ala Phoebe from Friends. Not just flowers but more importantly it was all about the daisy! A bucket type hat with the daisy ala Blossom was so very popular. Fitted cardigans. Chain wallets. Chopsticks for hair. So many you missed but can be seen currently in Forever 21. btw the way, I had a mood ring too. It had my zodiac symbol on it. That was popular as well as the ying yang symbol!!
TheKillerQueenfan do u remember sunflowers I had an ankle skirt that buttoned all the way up the front navy blue with little sunflowers on it and white crop top with one sunflower in the middle
a lot of those were around earlier
Oh god, this brings me back. lol I owned/wore every single one of these things when I was younger, and the fact that most of these things are coming back into fashion makes me feel really old >
Do people not realize stuff comes BACK IN STYLE!?!
I wish I grew up in the 80's and 90's... I grew up in the 2000's 😢😔
Logo clothing also became huge. Tommy and Polo branded items on everybody everywhere. Which I have now noticed Tommy is bringing back his classic and 90s vibe now. The 90s were, are, awesome!!
Fashion goes through 20/30 year revivals just like how all the 90's fashions are popular now and how the 90's recycled stuff from previous eras. nothing is ever new in fashion.
I grew up in the 90's and early 2000 and watching this makes me feel so old
What about little cardigans?
crop tops is back now!!
And so are jelly shoes.
Ashley ever get a rock lodged in them?? Noo!!!
Melissa Burdick I did one or twice when I was a kid.
Maria Ioakeim Yassss
our generations styles never went away as we never went away
I was the queen of plaid shirts tied around the waist. Oh my goodness... Childhood :)
Miss the butterfly clips and platform shoes gosh brings back middle school and high school years.
Hello Maria 😊
90s Baby here!!!
I LOVED the Rachel hair. It really flattered Jennifer’s face and the dye job was beautiful.
My older sister and I owned spice girl shoes and we rocked them with such pride lol
A lot of those shirts weren't crop tops though. They were midriffs or bralettes.
When I saw My girl so many memories came to my mind. That's was the first movie I cried on
I'm getting goosebumps watching this and smiling so hard! This was literally my childhood, because I was born in 87', so the 90's were the prime of my childhood life! My butterfly clips would always break the same day of wearing them haha I remember this stretchy spikey headband thing we used to wear with the butterfly clips too, but you weren't cool if you actually wore the headband in your hair; you were only cool if it was around your neck like a choker haha
The '90s were mainly a reboot of the '70s.
Pave Stiletto Wrong.
A couple of things were, but trust me thats it.
"it was the era before social media."
*facts*
I MISS THE 90S!!! that is all
You just described my entire middle and high school years! Oh and most of these I see everyday where I work.... downtown Eugene, OR
This list is soooo perfect
Rachel hair, overall, chokers, floral clothes, mood rings, butterfly clips, flannel shirts and crop tops
In the U.K. A big trend in the 90s was Pedal pushers!! I loved those, and the crop top fashion........ now I just want to go back in time when life was simpler and fun...... before personal technology
Yes, I loved them too!!! With heeled boots, stillettos, flat pumps… 💕
Haha, I was born in 92 and I remember almost all of these trends. Damn I feel old!
I was gonna say... Try being born in 1977... This would make more sense...
I was born in 92 as well and as a kid I had: butterfly clips, mood rings, bucket hats, slap bracelets, chokers... But anyway, many of these were present in the 00's as well. It also depends on the country you were born in. Fashion didn't reach all countries at the same time. Being born in eastern Europe I suppose things in terms of fashion were a bit delayed back then.
I was born in 82 darling. Got ya beat with that one! ; D
@@supergeeky7529 this ain't a competition
it was a joke. calm down! = )
It’s amazing to have seen these come back through the 3 years this video has been out.
What about glitter?!?!?!?!?
ALL the damn glitter! I am always shocked people keep forgetting that one. It was always one of my favs.
Butterfly clips are coming back and i love it!!
So happy i was born in 84 & got to enjoy the 90's & 2000's.
I was a kid during the 90s, was born in December 1989. I had platform shoes (Skechers), I had butterfly clips, flower print shirts and dresses, cheap chokers I bought at a flea market in Mexico. I really wanted the sleek straight hair that was really in during the late 90s. Frosted eyeshadow and lip smackers were really popular too.
Combat trousers and trouser skirts were also big in the 90s.
Hello April 😊
2:35 this style of white top/shirt on that girl is my favourite look of the 90’s
My favorite 90s ensemble?
- velvet hat
- bike shorts
- baby doll dress, clipped in the back with a sweater clip
Soooo comfy and stylish! 😂
School Boys, biker shorts, Calvin's peeking out ya baggy Kross Kolors, double scrunch socks, Daisy dukes...... Music & dancing was the💣, I know 💩 I graduated in 91 🙋💯
i just want to go back to the days when glitter was everywhere! My god, I always and still have, an obsession with glitter! The more multicoloured it is the better!
I had the 90's overalls and the chokers and the butterfly clips and floral slip dresses and of course I had to wear a baby tee underneath my slip dresses...
Number should have been babydoll dresses or patchwork denim or those tiny backpacks that you still see around today.
Also skater wear, spiked hair ( for guys in the late 90’s) spaghetti strapped dresses, babydoll tees, cardigans, halter tops, and capris that made a a comeback from the 50’s.
Really liked most of these trends except the jelly shoes lol
I especially thought Black or Deep Dark Red Crotchet dresses looked awesome. :)
Oh mood rings I loved them. I am '90s baby and it was magical for me. I would like to have one right now but I can't find it.
That butterfly clip is so cool, I'd wear one today.
I was born in 1990. I miss everything. Loved the butterfly clips and that slap bracelet I had many. Had a crop top when was 5 and loved it. Mom said I wanted to wear it every day. hehe
My style hasn't really changed since the 90s... I still wear plaid/flannels, bucket hats, mood rings, butterfly clips (on special occasions), Doc Martens, chucks, and chockers! I'm stylin!
I was born in 2000 but my style is inspired by the 90's, i also feel like a 90's child and my favorite piece from the 90's are cargo pants, chokos, oversized jumpers, overalls, starter jackets, mini backpacks, jelly sandals, bandana, braids beads and afro puff
I bought a bucket hat with butterflies this summer, a jean jacket a couple months ago, a pair of overalls today, and my Tamagotchi’s coming tomorrow from Amazon. Yeah, I’m going back to the 90s. Anybody up for TGIF?
They're back! I love the 90's!
I love the fashion of the 90's and early 00's. I always felt that dressing fashionably wasn't meant for me, until couple of years ago when these styles made a comeback. I used to dress all black and plain until recently. Thank you crazy people of the 90's and hippies of the 70's.
I love my 90's platforms.
slap bracelets and jellies were EVERYTHING
jelly shoes were already around earlier
so nice so beautiful
You forgot about baggy clothes baggy pants baggy shirts huge oversize close. You also forgot about rave pants.
oh I miss my flannel shirts.
the young friends cast looks amazing!
I was rocking a Kango in the 80s and I had a butterfly clip in my hair in the seventies. One of my best friends took her senior picture with the one
Hello Virginia 😊
Slap bracelets 😄
I love chokers!
Kira Herusingu me too!
I feel everything in this video is still in style still , I love the 90’s I’m glad I’m apart of it
Omg 90's haven't forgotten it at all I used to wear flower pattern overall lol and hear a bit perm In the early 90s
Some of the clothes are popular now such as overalls, crop tops, and plaid shirts. Fashion always comes back 20+ years later. I love plaid shirts and crop tops.
Yeah, but the styles defined the 90s. Wearing them now is just a retro copying.
true, but in the 40s into the mid 50s men wore double breasted suits....those made a comeback in the early to mid 80s and last until around 1999-2000
what popular now our generation´s styles never went away
Seattle Grunge for life!!
I still buy mood rings. & Platforms have never went away thanks to Goths & Rivetheads, & GaGa. I had three pair of platform Sketchers & I'd sell my soul to find some again, omg, they were so awesome. I also rocked the Rachel but in auburn hair ala "Crimson Glow" from My So-Called Life. I had long sunflower dress that I wore with a jean vest & those big chunky tan workboots, and some shorter black babydoll dresses with flowers on them, haha. God I miss the 90s. And the flannel I had, omg omg. I miss all of it.
Hello Whiskey 😊
I remember having a Rachel hair cut! Mine was a little after she first got it because of living in the UK we saw episodes later than the US xxxxxx
I wish everything would stop being a comeback or trendy and everyone just wore whatever they want without people being like 😨😱 lmao style was a lot more fun back then
jennifer said she didnt like “the rachael” hairstyle very much
overalls/ dungarees are always awesome!
My favorite movie is clueless has best fashion movie ever cher outfits are so amazing
what I DO NOT miss about 90s fashion....heavy shoes...big heavy, clunky shoes that didn't bend much. I didn't wear any platform shoes, but everything was heavy...Simple shoes were heavy, Docs are heavy... At the time I wore them but that's one thing I will never, ever go back to after wearing current light weight shoes.
Platforms were just with pop stars.... Most women's shoes just had a chunky heel or a wedge... I hate it when they use Pop Singer Fashions as trends for everyday people....
Anyone else remember the plastic bracelets? All different colours, some had glitter in? It use to take forever to put them on! Then this big thing started in school that if you had sex you had to break a black bracelet, so if you forgot some bracelets others thought you had been having sex lol
Kids are way too grown up these days and missing out on this fun teenage things!
Hello Lauren 😊
I used to love overalls. And they are coming back again.
I had a gf who wore those, I think she looked cute in them. :)
our generation´s styles never went away
Great list w/ more needed lol
