Fun fact: anarchists were originally known as Federalists since they supported Federalism/Confederalism over Unitarianism

Federalism is not to be confused with separation of powers. Separation of powers means that power is also split *within* the federal government... between the legislative, executive, and judicial branches.

What is the type of federalism in USA? Specifically

    • @Emmie1223

The type of federalism in USA is literally the support of major corporations/governments for the agreement of the majority… I guess?

The long and short of Federalism is this. We are not just a big country carved up into 50 pieces in a top-down fashion. Our government is just as much bottom-up as it is top-down. That's why for example, during COVID the Federal government had no power to issue lockdowns. The layers of the cake were never supposed to become blended together. The fact that they are explains at least 50% of the problems we have. They key comes in that last exclusive power of regulating interstate commerce. There have been all sorts of Federal usurpation of state and local power that have come from very creative and incorrect interpretations of the Commerce Clause. It's been diluted to mean that anything that could have anything in any direct or indirect way with buying things made in another state comes under Federal jurisdiction. Hopefully someday the SCOTUS will reverse that.

Hello your explanation of exclusive federal powers are twisted...take your all the exclusive state and add more every baranggay can now able to control their encome gave to malacanaiang 20 percent income. do you think malacaniang has lesser reponsobility and no excuse of no hospital ,no school, no bridge ,and roads in the neglect part of the phillipines...their will be additional law for sure ...to unite the whole country..federalism work will in most powerful country in the word..
