    Brilliant Bikes I’ve recently bought 2 x sets of these lightweight pedals from you, one set for my 2023 CHPT3 Brompton and the other for my older 2018 CHPT3. They were really easy to fit and are a comfy foot position. My bikes are now even more nimble. Thank you for stocking them 👍

    Great video. I would suggest anti seize compound, not grease, for the pedal threads when installing to the cranks. Grease would be ok, but the general rule with bikes is to use anti seize compound for things very rarely taken apart (so bottom bracket, headsets too).

    Another fantastically quirky and fascinating piece of Brompton engineering. The pedal mounts behind the brake? Another one for John Cleese. How wonderful this company exists and keeps doing such strange and unique things.

    Thanks for that. I'd like to see how the pedal is released from its "storage" position and how secure it is. Whilst I like the idea behind the engineering, I don't think the 100g saving warrants the worry of potentially losing a pedal from its "sticky-outy" storage position. Call me cynical, but I think there's going to be a demand for non drive side removable pedals (pedal only, not crank mounted receptor)..

    That's some excellent ventriloquism (is that a word?) at 3m16s!
    I was kind of hoping they'd have used the MKS Ezy system for these (for compatibility's sake), but I see they've gone a different route. Any thoughts on how their release mechanism compares to the MKS one? I had an MKS pedal fall out just after I set off once (which was a very quick way to reach the tarmac, hard), but it was my fault as I was thinking about something else when I fitted the pedal and didn't get the twisty collar seated properly.
    I think Brompton's pedal holder looks a bit more practical than the MKS one. Cunning.

  • @alexmorgan3435

    If there was a SPD version then I’d be interested otherwise no. I shall stick with my Shimano XTR pedals. It’s a tiny inconvenience to have the non drive side pedal sticking out when folded.

    • @evil_cb1859
      @evil_cb1859 Год назад +1

      I agree. I reckon Brompton engineers missed a trick here. They could have made a one sided SPD, which wouldn’t have reduced the versatility of the bike, but would also have satisfied those of us who are used to being clipped in and powering through the full cycle. Like you, I use Shimano MTB pedals with the (small) inconvenience of a pedal sticking out on the non-drive side when folded.

    I’d’ve thought Brompton would’ve included these pedals in the already high price of the Chpt3 / T-Line rather than make them extras, especially as they’re marketing brags about their light weights.
