I like the idea a lot: it exudes "even if you don't know Spanish, you'll figure it out with your Gamer Sense and you'll learn the language from that" energy.
I bought this game and have been playing it for a few days. Not only is it helping me with my Spanish tremendously, but it's a really fun and interesting game. Definitely would recommend.
We'd love to make one! Leaving a review on Steam is a good way to increase the chance of it happening. :D (That's how the Steam algorithms work) Either way, thanks for playing! -Chaz
as someone who is a huge gamer and a language learning enthusiast, I think this is one of the coolest and most unique games I've ever seen. I hope you continue to make more language learning games! what an unique experience
I bought and played this toward the beginning of my Spanish-learning journey, a little over a year and a half ago. I enjoyed it quite a bit and learned a lot from it. Although I never quite finished it, it still helped me a lot when I was too much of a beginner to understand regular games in Spanish. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who's at a sort of "upper beginner" stage of learning, maybe two or three months into their Spanish studies. I've since moved onto playing bigger games in Spanish: I've finished Final Fantasy V and Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, and now playing through Final Fantasy IX. Those are much more advanced, of course; Pedro's Adventures was a great starting point for me before I got to that level. Pair this game with your other studies (flashcards, grammar, listening practice, etc.) and you'll be setting yourself up for success.
I just stumbled across this today on Steam. To play a game that is actually useful. I played Titan Quest quite a bit and at the end of the year I got feedback on how much time I spent playing. Hours and hours of wasted time is how I felt. Now with Pedro's Adventures in Spanish, I won't feel that I wasted my time. We need more of this! And we need different levels of this game so we can keep improving. Well done, Rocket Boy Games! I subscribed and turned on Notifications so I hear about all improvements!
Really glad you enjoyed your adventure! Our next release might not be a language learning game but the one after it probably will be. Either way, we definitely want to continue creating Spanish learning adventures in the future. Mil gracias! -Chaz
I just finished this play through. This was such a refreshing way to learn more Spanish after a few years of ebooks in the car and apps on my phone. The second play through is already going and it's my daughter playing, while I translate for her. I am understanding everything so much easier and only occasionally having to look something up compared to my first play through. Third round will be sound only. I can’t wait until the next game from this team. If anyone has any recommendations for other games please let me know. This is the way!
Great to hear you're enjoying Pedro's Adventures. And we really appreciate the support! We're working on some pretty interesting ideas at the moment that we'll hopefully be able to announce very soon. :)
So, basically this is the way we all learned to speak as small children. People repeated things like "Open the door" and "OK, now close the door" probably thousands of times during very early childhood. As people old enough to play video games, we won't need thousands of repetitions, but it is comforting to know that anytime I forget a word, I can just have the game repeat it. I've already begun to pick out words I didn't used to know while listening to native Spanish speakers talking in the past few weeks. :)
I'm at a B2 level and bought this right after seeing Pablo from Dreaming Spanish play it. I love it and this idea for games to learn languages is gold! There may be good comprehensible input out there but most don't get that it's not just going through endless text. It's using the language and having it shown to you
We're very happy to hear that people are appreciating the value of *interactive* comprehensible input. Not only is it a faster way to acquire the language, its also more fun! :) Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I learnt a lot of English from playing games in the past, but it was a huge challenge, the language was complex. Had to learn the basics before by myself. It's very exciting to have these tools now.
I'm currently learning Spanish, do you have any gaming suggestions that you used to learn English? Maybe they have some good language support in some cases 😊
I've been studying Spanish for 2 years now, and I am really looking forward to this game. It's between where I can improve my Spanish and recapitulate everything that I have learnt at this point. I like the idea of putting a point and click mechanic game where you can interact with almost everything to learn a specific language.
Thats great! Our game should be perfect for people in your situation. And yep, we thought the point and click system would be the best style of gameplay for this purpose. It provided a lot of versatility for the player to be able to interact with anything they find interesting in any of the environments.
Thanks to Pablo at Dreaming Spanish recommending this game I purchased it as fast as I could!! Love it and highly recommend it to anyone who is trying to Acquire Spanish. Thanks Chaz .
I'm so excited for this. You should look into creating an English version, i know a few Spanish speakers learning English that would want to enjoy a game like this

I watched this video until 2:00 and knew; this is exactly what I was looking for. And bought in on steam. Excited to play it I know this works (for me) because it's how I learned english by playing kings quest 5 back in the day.
Oh yes, KQ5 was my absolute favorite adventure game as a kid. But some of the puzzles back then were a little unfair by today's standards. Don't worry, in this game you wont accidentally feed a pie to an eagle instead of throwing it at a yeti. :P And please consider leaving a steam review to let other players know what to expect (they make a big difference for us) Really hope you enjoy the game! -Chaz
I took Spanish in high school years years ago but I didn't really learn as much as I wanted too. Porting it to Android and iOS would make the game very accessible for a lot of students (hopefully in a way so that you can earn the revenue that you deserve). Otherwise I might buy a copy to let students play the game if they want or perhaps I can let them play together on my Mac together?
Oh yes. Mobile ports are a high priority for us! We hope it should only be a few months away. You can currently only play it on Mac if you are using some type of Windows emulator (but we havent tested that yet). We've definitely noticed that learners enjoy playing the game together. Yo bro! I'm gonna get this game today and stream it! Hopefully I can get some people watch! I'm Currently A1 level (took the DELE test a couple of years ago) and am looking to get to intermediate.
