This looks great except...If I've already recruited a friend who can practice with me, then why do I need the game? I think this would be more practical if players could work with computer characters or whoever happens to be online at the time, instead of people they had to recruit themselves.
We really appreciate this feedback! While it's true that for the beta we asked users to have a friend that they recruit, now for the full version we've enabled a single-player version where you can work with our in-game characters. Thanks so much!
Hi there! Great question. You know how you go to the grocery store to buy ingredients you wouldn't want to make from scratch yourself? You may pick up a jug of milk, for example, because then you don't have to raise your own cow and milk it yourself. You still get the milk to use in whatever dish you want (a cake, cereal, ice cream, etc...), and that dish will be your creation, but you paid the grocery store to save you the time of raising and milking the cow. Right? Similarly, game developers often use stores to buy basic "ingredients" for their games -- in this case, the basic shapes of the buildings and town layout -- so they can focus on other features and making an excellent final product. It looks like we and Earthlingo purchased the same item from a marketplace to use as an ingredient in our game. They have good taste! We have since made further in-house improvements to our art, unique to only Redshift Education, which you can see here: ruclips.net/video/gXuNqenCayA/видео.html Especially when first launching (which is the version you see in this video), we chose to put our energy into creating voiced, branching conversations with native speaker colloquialisms, paired with our speech recognition engine that powers the in-game Spanish conversation experience. Por ahora, no. Somos un startup pequeño, y nos estamos enfocado en la enseñanza de español para iniciar porque es mi especialidad. Pero en el futuro queremos ofrecer nuestros juegos en variedad de idiomas!
So excited to see all these coming together! The game looks great!
Thanks so much, Jooyoung! We are so pumped. Please send the link to anyone you know who is learning or speaks Spanish!
