@@RenegadeCovers thanks you. Did you purchase the 1st or 2nd generation? I didn’t realize how expensive it would be. Please be honest and tell me how well you feel it helps with reception. If possible, would you have an example of where you didn’t get reception and now with this you get great reception? Thanks again.
Ok so here is my opinion. You will get what you paid for it ;) I bought the second gen because it supposedly works with 5g and will be good on technology for over a decade. So 90% of the time I have mine turned off because I live in a large metro and it will actually decreases my cell signal because it amplifies all the carriers in the cab and makes it hard for the cell phone to get the right signal. The time I use it is on road trips. The areas where there is a cell tower every few miles and dead spots in between. That is where it shines. It will take a signal where a call is dropped and make it so you can complete that call. You have to have at least some tiny signal and it will boost it. There is a hunting spot that is in Wyoming that I can send text but not calls I turn on the booster and I can call someone no problem. Its not a miracle worker but It does work very well. I was able to justify it because I own my own business and it should last more than 10 years. I would buy again especially because I road trip several times a year. I hope that helps.
So it sticks in 1 1/2 '' on each side. I am unfamiliar with a camper application... based on just eye balling it they are incompatible with one another.
Hi Memo, So our customer who did this video has since hauled it with a 5th wheel with no issues. You Can haul it with a gooseneck/5th wheel. Make sure you have clearance under the trailer. the cover when folded is 4.5 inches high. And you will want to secure the cover down to make sure it does not unfold during transit. Its highly unlikely but we always err on the side of safety.
So this cover doesn't come with any lock down points? They have to be bought after as accessories after the fact? Looking at this and the diamond back HD that can come with cleats pre-installed
Hi Aaron, we will be adding this to the website soon. When you order a Renegade Cover it comes with 4 tiedown rings included at no additional fee. I have a 2021 Jeep Gladiator. (Without rails) I’m brand new to the world of overlanding, off-roading, etc…. I love the possibility of being able to carry up to 2000lbs on the bed cover BUT I can’t figure out what rails will be best suited for this. There’s no sense in me putting up to 2000lbs on my bed cover if my rails only support 500lbs. Please help!
Hi Julie, Great question and welcome to the world of over-landing. You are correct the cover will support 2,000 lbs, however, truck manufacturers do not publish the weight capacity of their bed rails. So you have to use common sense on what load to put on top. We have seen customers put a cover, Renegade Racks, and a rooftop tent then load it full of equipment with no issues on the bed rails of the Gladiator. Any more questions?
If you plan to haul anywhere near 2000#, you need a real truck. Those paper thin bed rails on the Gladiator barely support a load in the bed. A buddy of mine was hauling a lawn mower and it shifted in the bed and bent one of his bed rails so bad that the tail gate wouldn't close right.
Thank you for your comment. We are releasing a video soon about how to increase the waterproofing. Thank you for watching our content. Feel free to read our reviews on google by following this link: direct.me/renegadecovers
I am still on the fence between diamondback and renegade truck covers. both are nice I have a 2020 tundra trd pro with bed rails that came With the truck do I need to take them off to install the renegade ??
I like the rugged concept and the tie down points, but the fact it doesn't fold up against the back window, giving you full access to the bed for those mulch runs, like Bak Flip, it's a 'NO' for me.
@Edward King, Hi, thank you for your interest in watching one of our videos. We really appreciate your kind word that you like the rugged concept of our cover. Yes it does not have the ability to fold against the glass because each cover weighs between 135-165 lbs. This is because the goal with the cover was to support 2,000 lbs. One feature you may not have seen is you can remove the cover completely with no tools within seconds. You can also open the cab section backward. Again thanks for watching and commenting.
Yes you are correct we are working on shorting the long lead time with our vendors and supply chain issues. Thank you for commenting and have a great day.
