- Come along on the longest scheduled commercial flight ever flown, Newark-Singapore. I t was short on the outbound, only 18 hours, But the return was 19 hours 10 minutes, and over 10,000 miles.
What a legend you are you’re still giving hearts to comments made 9 years after the video what a legend you are respect!!!.
Wow, good coverage! I couldn't imagine being in the air for that long but I'm sure it's quite an experience. Cheers!
Thanks - the Singapore flight attendants are fantastic, and having a comfortable seat that reclines and good food and wine makes it bearable - plus I enjoy the flight route over the north K
Brilliant video!
Classic, thanks.
Great video and review, thanks for share!
Fascinating video! The longest nonstop I've ever taken was 12hr-40min. I was exhausted. I can barely imagine what another six hours would've been like. Yikes!
+Dave Glo You know it really wasn't so bad, I was interested in flying over the pole, plenty of video and audio, and good wine to boot - I have traveled many long haul flights and have found best to just go with it and not have an anticipation of getting to your destination soon
A340, what a beuty she was...
Yes, 13:06 is an airline seat.
Kevin как дела ?
хорошее видео !
economy on this flight= death
+Ruairí Daly I can only imagine - those coat seat get uncomfortable on 3 hour flights and I get fidgety
was it comfortable? were you able to sleep properly?
+Shri Kiran It was quite comfortable - the business class seats reclined to near horizontal. Its always a bit hard to travel long distances especially this one where the time difference is 12 hours, but I'm pretty used to it - I try to sleep when Im sleepy and not just go with the new time zone right away
How often did you have to fly this route?
Avolp777 I only flew this route 4 times, but it was an interesting experience each time - got pretty rough turbulence over Canada approaching Lake Superior, but I don't mind - reminds me that I'm flying. I had a friend who was afraid and I told her it's really like waves on a boat ride - nothing to worry about. I also have a video over the north pole on the Continental EWR-HKG inaugural
+J Kevin Brady so how much was the ticket price ?
+Eren Yeager I think around $10,000 round trip back then, but I was a guest of Singapore Airlines
+Avolp777 I only flew the non-stop twice - sometimes I would go to Tokyo or Hong Kong first - SQ's 747 service is also great - I did business with them so they usual put me in first class - you know a flight is great when you've been in the air for 15 hours and are sad that you are landing..
Smooth ride? Any turbulence?
+Avolp777 Pretty bumpy over Canada near the US border but fine other than that
One Word: Qantas.
