    What King George the VIth may lack in charisma, he more than made up for in courage. In humanity. In duty.
    As a New Yorker in America, I am repeatedly humbled and inspired by the grace and sacrifice this constitutional monarchical family made for their country, and the world at large. How fortunate we all are.

    My father's cousin and her siblings grew up in London during this time. The stories she shared were incredible. They eventually were sent to live with other relatives in the country.

    Absolutely phenomenal and awe-inspiring how Britain was so valiant in the face of such horrors, and how loved and significant the mere presence of their Majesties was for their people. God bless them all, God save the King.

    We cannot know the changing tides of life but with God’s grace find strength to meet the challenge. If anything, it is important we are kind, support each other, respect each other and not feel threatened by our differences. The strength and dignity before challenge is what I admire about this KIng and Queen. Glad to hear their story

    Elizabeth's precocious moral leadership lent courage to the commonwealth long before her summons to the monarchy and for decades into the 21st Century.

    One George 6th was worth more than 10 Edward 8ths. Hands down. I think a King Edward would have sold out the UK and the world to the evil axis powers

      So did Churchill. The US would not have got into the war if 8th had been King. The other problem was that there were other nobles and royals that were in on it too. Somebody had to pay. It shaped up the others very quickly.

      It was difficult to fight when different countries were afraid of Hitler but that king together with his wife the queen, was a fierceless power couple, UK needed.

    Wow the King & Queen were so calm, collected and but defiant with Nazi even after bombing of the palace. If it was me, I would have been worried and my face will not be able to hide it.
    This power couple have to be strong when facing the public, so people will be led to be strong, defiant, calm, collected yet ready to fight.
    Salute to the power couple. UK you were so blessed to have them.

    George V & George VI were alike in that neither of them were supposed to be king. They both had older brothers who should have been king. I have more respect for George VI because George V allowed the Russian royal family to be murdered when he could have helped them.

    • @zzzbbbooo
      @zzzbbbooo 6 месяцев назад +1

      He didn't "allow" them to be murdered! He had no idea when they were refused asylum that they would be murdered. No one did. It was thought they'd simply find another country to sit the war out in.

    @vincekderrigan8300. Maybe. But I think a Royal Family is a focal point for the country.there is history that is embedded in the monarchy which no Presidency can equal. Would one envisage the enthusiasm for a president on the balcony of Buckingham palace.or the pageantry of a Royal procession.and the mlitary involved inn it.I am old fashioned at 94 but to me I love what our country means despite those with closed ears and eyes.Mind you I. Ve had a fantastic 94 years.however I am glad I won’t be around much longer I don’t envy the younger generation..The kind of people I grew up with are long gone.ddiscipline and good manners and respect have long since dissapeared. All the best to you.
