As bad as it sounds when you are actively in a fight camp you can't have any distractions. Your life is on the line every time you step into the ring. If he wants to bring attention to a serious issue he should either pull out of the fight and find platforms where he will be able to spread the message or focus on winning the fight and then when all the cameras are on him at the post fight interview open up about the issue.

I don't think PBD is dumb, or playing dumb. He just has a very confined perspective when he views things, focusing mostly on money and contracts. The only thing he's seeing is that there will be a huge fallout if the fight falls through. PBD's been sued before and knows the stress and potential damage that comes with it. It's similar to being green-lighted. So he's defaulting to, "You can still make it out of this. Everything can still be ok. Just clear your head, train, and do the fight." From PBD's vantage point, that would that solve all problems.
