This is what happens when master concrete workers who grew up in a small vacuum with amateur skaters design a park. It's a work of art, beautiful and totally insane. My favorite part is public park's grass isn't mown by some private contractor but by an enterprising goat farmer.
A master mason would know that to prevent the concrete from crumbling, it needs to be at least 4 inches thick, and the rebar and wire needs to have at least 2 inches of concrete around all sides.
I agree 90% with you. Its just that I think the concrete workers had their master in art rather than in concrete. I love abstract art and skateparks are always big open air artworks to me. This one is the nicest i have seen

My guess is it’s probably super expensive to maintain. Puebla is pretty tropical so is humid and rainy, the park is only 10 years old and it looks like it’s 30. Probably should have been indoor.

that genuinely surprises me, in a place like mexico, where the police definitely have better things to do, they are instead enforcing a helmet only rule at a skatepark. weird.

The safety and murders change drastically depending on the region/city you are in. Puebla city is one of the safer places and not crazy. Most of the 30k+ murders are more in the north near the border. Puebla is very far from that.
