Thank you for this very specific review. Found it while searching the difference between the two. I lost my 230 housing yesterday and was considering to buy just the casing because I still have the earbuds but I wanted a better one, the live pro 2 sounds a great deal. Very detailed review. Thanks!
Hey dude! I'm from Brazil and on RUclips BR there are simply no comparative videos between the two! Here the 230NC costs R$500, while the Live Pro 2 costs R$900, this is equivalent to 40% and 70% of the minimum wage respectively, it's really depressing... But you helped me a lot in my choice, I have a Wave Buds and I want to level up but for 70% of the minimum wage, for now I will opt for 230NC!! Thank u so much!!
Glad this helped you out! and thanks for sharing that price difference between that two! Its helpful to know how they price things differently in other countries. I hope you enjoy the Tune 230s!
The live pro 2 was a winner for me when you mentioned the weight of each bud. They are half the weight of the cheaper earbuds with bigger drivers and more mics
I have the 230, they are very good, nice solid sound, and you can use the app to EQ them. Only issue is if you use large foam tips the earphones won’t fit back in the charging case, so you have to take them off for charging!
I own the JBL 230 since two Years now so I really appreciate them! They really did a good Job and they still do. They work and they are fine, so happy that I shopped them, then. But now sadly one side lacks in charging and I need to figure out what my next ones will be. I'm a little unsure but I think If I liked the 230 so much, what I really did and still do, I will be very happy with the Live Pro 2. If somebody has another input for it or something, please let me know. But I think I'm curious about trying the Pro 2, but still keep my half, but still good working 230 ones for some times, well see. Hopefully a good choice like the 230's back then!
For the live pro 2, you can turn on the buds even if you forget your charging case at home? That's something I didn't like from the 230 NC, that you could only turn them on by putting them back in the case.
Thats a great question and honestly unsure, I havent found myself in that situation before but I'll give it a try out and let you know in a week or so.
For me they are both on sale right now with 33 euros diffrence (The Tune 230NC for 55 euros and the Live Pro 2 TWS for 88 euros) And i just ordered a new phone with out a jack for headset earbuds i already have the JBL Live 660 NC headphone but just having some earbuds in your pcoket can be so handy!
Surprisingly the JBL Live pro 2’s are best bang for ur buck performance and value wise . In the same quality range as Apple air pods pro , Samsung buds to Beats Pro buds . The anc performs better than the top 3 mentioned which was surprising .
I use high end headphones when I can but I was looking for earbuds for stuff like quick walks and calls, so these seemed like the best options. Definitely going for the Live Pro 2s though, half the weight with better drivers/bass, better NC and better mic? And for me only a 20€ difference right now
very informative vids! been thinking about getting the live pro 2, but seeing as it launched about a year ago, any chance a live pro 3 comes soon? or should i just go ahead with getting the live pro 2
Glad you enjoyed this video! I don’t think JBL updates their head phones that often! They’re focus this year has been on the JBL Tour Pro 2 which is their latest but also their most expensive earbuds. Check those out if you’re interested. I’m working on a review of them right now. That said the live pro 2 are just perfect for its price and performance
A question. Do the eartips on the 230NC fit the Live Pro 2? I want some eartips that are little deeper than original but I am afraid they dont fit the case. Thanks.
You said I should get the live pro 2 but it's a bit expensive for me. Even a used pair can go for 130 or more😢 and unfortunately I only really have around 80$ for something like this.
Sorry to hear! I know depending on your country they usually will go on sale for much less and a little closer to your 80 budget. Otherwise you’ll still enjoy the tune 230s! Or even the Live Pro+
@@ardentlytech ok. But what about recommendations for a pair that has a very good anc, decently good audio and minimal noise bleed. I have a major issue with earphones/headphones that have a lot of noise bleed even brand new. It might just me my poor choice but I just want to listen to my music at a decently high volume without others hearing. I might just be being to picky though
I'm a huge fan of the airpods pro 2nd gen, as an apple user with multiple apple products, I really get to experience all of the benefits. So if that's you I think you'd feel the same! If anything the Live Pro 2 are such a good alternative that I sometimes choose those over my airpods depending on the day.
@@DhruvGN8 Great question. It's hard to say, but I think it would depend on the price difference between the Live Pro 2 and the AirPods Pro 2nd gen. I believe the Live Pro 2 are a great competitor to the AirPods Pro, so if they are significantly cheaper than those, then I think the price of the Live Pro 2 would be worth it despite it being double from the Tune 230. But if that doesn't matter to you or if that price is just too much to spend on earbuds, then I think you'll enjoy the Tune 230s just fine as well. I hope that is somewhat helpful!
Thanks that does help, although I'm not the one paying for them, I still want to be responsible with the money. The Pro 2 is for 11000 here while the 230NC is for 6000, to answer that. I'd also like to say that your videos are just so well made and props to you for your efforts.
I had the 230, and for a while it was great, no problems whatsoever. But eventually after a few drops, they started to die out, get quieter and quieter, like one earbud had more sound that the other, etc. I don't use them anymore because of that. Something that really bothers me about the live pro though is the case itself. It's an ugly style and the clam shell lid doesn't look like it stays open properly, like it's very flimsy.
yeah I agree the case of the Live Pro 2 is also my biggest gripe with them. Otherwise a great earbud! Also, sorry to hear about your issues with the tune 230s!
@@frozen_penquin9175 honestly I didn’t not keep these for longer than 2 months I ended up giving them to a friend and not sure if he’s had similar issues. But in my 2 months I did not.
I just got a pair of tune 230s for 40 bucks during Amazon's prime day sale, do u think theres any eq settings that could make them sound more similar to the live pro 2s?
Maybe? I’m not confident that the 6mm drivers can get to the same sound as the live pro 2’s 11mm drivers, but the sound is still really good from the Tune 230!
Thank you, but can I use the JBL headphones with only one side, right or left, and control the properties, or is there only one main side? Since I own an old version of JBL + Sony, and they only have one main side
Yea so even if live pro 2 is better... the cost difference here in india is basically 75 dollars and 150 dollars... so double the price... i would say tune 230 is better for the price here
one thing reviewer do review are either based on scientific test or phone call or traffic noise or fan blowing for ANC which strongly believe not very accurate. i would like to debunked Live pro 2 ANC - i live in thailand & my daily commute required me to take a river ferry which extremely loud boat engine & most of times am forced to stand very near to the boat engine & Live pro 2 ANC reduces the engine noise to a slight humming of the engine yes it's still audible but i can definitely watch an avengers movie with all the boom bang going around clearly. tried the apple airpod & samsung too but live pro 2 is much better. real life experience!

LOL the exact same thing happened with my elder brother and now he's also buying live pro 2. Just conflicted if it's worth the money..
