I just installed four of these in my theater last week. I agree that it adds a new dimension but for me I really want it to blend with my subs. Turned up too much and I want to raise my subs above 115 dB peaks which they can't do cleanly. The bass shakers at the Dolby Cinema are turned up way too much it makes every explosion feel the same which I was trying to avoid. I haven't had the problem about these not responding below 20 Hz, maybe I just have not had a movie for that yet. I love the metal creeks in Titanic during the sinking. Really awesome! sub'ed! ;)
Saber008 I'll have to watch that scene! I haven't watched it yet with the bass shakers. I love the scene in the 2006 King Kong, where Ann is trying to escape from Kong. When he starts breathing and grunting, you feel like he's right in the room with you.

For anyone who knows about these devices, I need help. I. Have anxiety and listen to the washing machine or bathtub filling up sound, and it relaxes me. I recently discovered that it's the sound paired with the vibrations it makes that help me relax. I have to turn the phone fullblaat and have it close to me all night to sleep and stay asleep. But the loud sound to get the vibrations isn't good for my ears and the risk of the phone heating up and the battery exploding makes me worry. How would I set something like this up so I can feel the vibrations of my relaxing sounds? What other equipment would I need to make this work? Thanks for any help..
Now I don't have one of these, but wiring it up should be just like a normal speaker. So in terms of equipment, you could get an adapter for your phone (if it has a headphone jack) that converts 3.5mm to RCA and connect that to an amplifier. Since the shaker only requires 50w you can find cheap 50w amplifiers for it easily. I can't say much on how to power the amplifier because that's going to rely on what amplifier you get, but to get the signal to the shaker you need to plug the 3.5mm to rca into the amplifier and then hook the output of the amplifier to the terminal of the bass shaker.

There aren't wireless bass shakers, however you do have to hook them up to an amplifier. One thing you can do is use these: parts-express.sjv.io/ORx4Rr which will wireless transmit your subwoofer signal from your AVR to your bass shaker amplifier.
Old video but do you have a recommended amp to power these? ...curious about the wiring too, my AVR only has mono bass out, how do you connect one of these with a single rca?
That is a great question. I am not sure of the price difference now, but these were less expensive and had just as good of specs. SO I thought I would take a chance on these. Honestly, I am glad I did. These are fantastic shakers! I love them. I have never done an A/B comparison, but I can say that 1 of these for each seat is more than enough. I cannot imagine the Aura's being significantly better, if better at all, since owning them.
They have been used in cars for a long time. I saw a 1993 Miata that had these in the seats from the factory. Was called the Mazda Sensory Sound System (MSSS).

Well it's from 10hz to 80hz on spec. Most of the bass shakers normally go down to 20hz only, and below that they get really expensive.
