    I'm sorry Sony but you dropped the ball this time.
    This phone is too expensive for what you're giving.
    A 1080p screen isn't going to cut it to us Sony fans when you used to give 4k at the same price.
    There are no big improvements over the 1v but most likely a huge set back in screen quality.
    This isn't worth the 1 name.
    We expect the 4k 21:9 screen.
    If you wanted to attract new customers do it right.
    This is not what we want.
    And new customers want to have face unlock so I'm not expecting this to sell well not even as good as the previous iterations 😢

  • @gtx_UK
    @gtx_UK 4 месяца назад +2

    Typically phones should last until 4 years so I'm happy with the changes and technology moves very quickly so I disagree that phones should be supported for 6 years as it is absurd! People forget that all the other major brands like Samsung and Google removed SD cards which forced you to pay a higher price so the new price is justified. Samsung S26 Ultra 1TB costs £1,399 and is an inferior product to the Sony Xperia 1 VI and the new Sony phone will let you expand up to 1.5TB...

      Studies shows most people actually keep their phone 4+ years. Inflation has also increased the length people keep their phone.

    • @gtx_UK
      @gtx_UK 4 месяца назад +2

      @@Genshinaction studies show that most people keep their phone somewhere around 3-4 years due to phones reaching around £1,300 before upgrading and for those people who do not have good disposable income tend to keep it for 5-6 years. One could argue that people shouldn't be buying expensive phones if they don't have a good disposable income and with each yearly software update, the phone will become extremely sluggish which is why 4 years is acceptable. If one requires more than 4 years, this phone is not for you.

    • @Genshinaction
      @Genshinaction 4 месяца назад

      @@gtx_UK okay let's narrow it further down to iPhone users. It's the main reason iPhones have a high resell value. iPhone users keep their phones much longer which is why Apple has always supported 6+ years of updates. Android OEMs are just catching up. Most users in America are iPhone users hence used to having 6+ years of support. It has nothing to do with money as much as they just see the phone purely as a utility. Only us nerds argue about how many years of support are useful 😂

    This panel, the size and the features, is a great disappointment, it is a setback in the technology that Sony had accustomed us to, having the best of technology in our hands, a 4k panel With a unique and special 21:9 format, it is a setback in many ways, and the worst part loses part of the essence of the personality of the Xperia 1 series

  • @carezzando7
    @carezzando7 4 месяца назад

    If there were many people who wanted 4K & 21:9 and supported it, this change may not have been made. Sony has not been bound by the insistence of forcing it on people, and has focused on increasing the experience value of many people in order to survive in the industry. This means that there will be no cutting off of the left and right sides in short videos on TikTok and RUclips, the battery will last much longer, and it will be much easier to see outdoors. These are on another level. Some people are dissatisfied when they look at the specs on the surface, but the display is so well-made that it is almost impossible to tell the difference between the displays. In fact, there may be more people who think it has become beautiful. Please try comparing the real thing.

      The cost performance of smartphones in China and other countries certainly seems good, but Sony has a high level of consideration, especially in terms of safety. For example, smartphones in China and other countries where the national system itself is different have been criticized for their lack of transparency in terms of information security, and excessively fast charging is also questionable in terms of safety. This specification significantly shortens the battery life, and in a few years the battery performance will be incomparable to Sony's.

    I think the changes in the display’s aspect ratio AND resolution were the right moves for Sony to make! While I haven’t seen this phone in person yet, I don’t see how 396 PPI wouldn’t be sharp enough - the difference in pixel density when compared to the previous 4K display is likely imperceptible to the eye at any reasonably usable distance! Furthermore, this change seems to have helped facilitate the profound improvement in battery endurance that we now get, along with the newer and denser battery tech of course. Overall, I think this phone is an excellent rival to the likes of the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

      The problem for most people is the asking price. People would forgive 1080p at say $700. Asking for $1400 and not providing QHD is disrespectful. At least give the people an option like most OEMs to drop from QHD to 1080p.

    I'm not sure how much anyone needed a 4k 6 inch screen. If anything, it only pushes the chip to work harded all the time and it will make the phone get hot immediately in a demanding app. Maybe not 1080p, maybe a happy medium would have been the best choice, but I think this will give the phone more heat aoaking headroom, which Sony had issues with before, so I like it. Everything else is just great!
