Sony, this is a Slap in the face, especially leaving US market
Sony you are making me buy the red magic 9 pro instead of your phone for the US market
from 4K OLED 21:9 aspect ratio to 19:5 FHD LTPO display?
yeahh nahhh, sorry I'll pass, I'm sticking with last year's model
1080p in 2024 👎🏻
No US when i finally want a Xperia now that they made a normal size, hurts..
i recommend the V since its 1200, its little skinny and bightness can be an issure is the sun is a peak brightness but you can fix that in settings. battery is pretty big and the 30w charger can charge it in around 70 mins from almost 1%
@@CrimsonRayne I'm just not a fan of 21/9
@@BeeBee-pl9ly same. Everything is 16:9 lol
No 4K and no 21:9....😢
This right here is my first concern.
Why you not include LED indicator?
😢+++++
According to information on the Internet, a feature called flash notification will be added to Android 14. This is a function that flashes the camera LED or screen instead of the notification light, and it replaces the notification LED, so it seems that the notification LED has been discontinued.
@@carezzando7wdym? What does led has to do with google support

Seriously Sony, what did you try to say here other than using big name of Bravia?? We know it's only LTPO Full HD+ 1-120 Hz, then what?? It's just like another midrange phone...
Pointless to have Suddenly have a flagship Xperia without a 4K screen. All my past Xperia since Z5 Premium have been with 4K and have been the proud talk and show
Except for the battery
4K isn't even being properly used unless consuming actual 4K content. Stuff like the OS etc. are still just rendered at FHD+. Idk about you, but when I want to watch 4K content I do it using a big 4K HDR capable TV.
Being able to say "I have a 4K screen in my phone" is cool and all, but is hardly practical and making actual use of the resolution is seldom.
Pointless for you to even buy recent xperia without 20.7mp camera output
@@RuggeD_ but there are people like us who really consumes 4K content on our phones. Just because we're rare doesn't mean it should be removed.
When you get used to 1440p and above, 1080p looks like crap. I can tell. Been doing this since Z5 premium.
Same here! I also want 21:9,not that weird aspect ratio screen.
Banyak orang indonesia suka sony , tapi sony tidak pernah mau tahu apa keinginan pasar indonesia ..maka sulit laris manis.sony gagal dalam memainkan harga dan selera pasar .
Dislike for 19,5:9 and 1080p !
21:9 and 4K - better!
no it is not better. i'm using 1V and I don't get why 4K is needed on small screen and it makes heat too much. 21:9 resolution also makes problems with many app.(my first xperia was 1III)
preach my man! forward never backwards!
Wonderful Sony Xperia💙🤩👍🏻✨, its design is great🌟👏🏻, much love for this great brand💙❤️✨
There will never be a chance to see real again... it's all artificial intelligence
I'm sorry Sony but you dropped the ball this time.
This phone is too expensive for what you're giving.
A 1080p screen isn't going to cut it to us Sony fans when you used to give 4k at the same price.
There are no big improvements over the 1v but most likely a huge set back in screen quality.
This isn't worth the 1 name.
We expect the 4k 21:9 screen.
If you wanted to attract new customers do it right.
This is not what we want.
And new customers want to have face unlock so I'm not expecting this to sell well not even as good as the previous iterations 😢
Xperia 5 VI: 480p screen
Typically phones should last until 4 years so I'm happy with the changes and technology moves very quickly so I disagree that phones should be supported for 6 years as it is absurd! People forget that all the other major brands like Samsung and Google removed SD cards which forced you to pay a higher price so the new price is justified. Samsung S26 Ultra 1TB costs £1,399 and is an inferior product to the Sony Xperia 1 VI and the new Sony phone will let you expand up to 1.5TB...
Studies shows most people actually keep their phone 4+ years. Inflation has also increased the length people keep their phone.
@@Genshinaction studies show that most people keep their phone somewhere around 3-4 years due to phones reaching around £1,300 before upgrading and for those people who do not have good disposable income tend to keep it for 5-6 years. One could argue that people shouldn't be buying expensive phones if they don't have a good disposable income and with each yearly software update, the phone will become extremely sluggish which is why 4 years is acceptable. If one requires more than 4 years, this phone is not for you.
@@gtx_UK okay let's narrow it further down to iPhone users. It's the main reason iPhones have a high resell value. iPhone users keep their phones much longer which is why Apple has always supported 6+ years of updates. Android OEMs are just catching up. Most users in America are iPhone users hence used to having 6+ years of support. It has nothing to do with money as much as they just see the phone purely as a utility. Only us nerds argue about how many years of support are useful 😂
It's a disgrace for a premium flagship in 2024 to only have a Full HD display.
WHY DID YOU HAVE TO LEAVE THE US??
It just wasn't sold enough in your country to be commercially viable. If more people had bought it, it wouldn't have left.
@@carezzando7 very sad 😔
@@SonyEnthusiast
I hope you find a way to get it somehow.
@@carezzando7 thank you 👍
Too bad Sony discriminates against those in the n66 band 5G. My last 2 Xperia phones were imported global models which don't have 5G in my home country Canada. Been buying Sony and Sony Ericsson phones steady since 2001 and they give up on me. 😢
Huge downgrade going with 1080p. What year are we in? At least provide a 1440p display at this price range
Sony❤
Can this phone play Dolby vision?
powered by Tv tech but only 1080p
ya i will buy it if i don't have to import from the UK
increase support to at least 6 years instead of 3. Also should have been screen resolution WQHD+ (2960x1440p) instead of FHD+ (2220x1080p) for a over 1400$ phone. RUclips 2k does 2160p and 1080p is ancient and blurry. 4k photos will be not represented correctly. you went too far backwards sony
Да спасибо, что вообще живые
They have increased to 3 year
@@shy_syarxr0201 Is this confirmed? 😮
@@shy_syarxr0201 thats good but not enough, iphone has 7 years and so does samsung, they are behind by 4 years from the biggest boys
IF FHD+ is blurry on 6.5 inch screen, it is pixel mismatching. not low resolution. and You just can't get brighter Display with 4K. And resolution over 1080p means nothing in small screen. what phone i'm using now to write this comment?? 1V
$1400 for 1080p 🤣🤣🤣🤣
right? at least 2k i could forgive but 1080 is just subpar
If someone from Sony is actually reading these comments, can you tell us exactly which countries these handsets are sold in and why you no longer sell in many other countries. I'm sick of having to purchase my latest Sony handsets from overseas with very limited and difficult warranties since you pulled out of Australia 5 years ago.
It just wasn't sold enough in your country to be commercially viable. If more people had bought it, it wouldn't have left.
Which one is better, the original cinealta mode or this new bravia engine? I feel like the bravia engine is more like the Samsung to over saturate the color.
This is so bad of a promo video. Basically shows nothing the screen can actually do like hello? better brightness? OLED panel's advantages? I dont need to see a lady dancing, and 1 billion colors? many phones can do that now, even the mid tier ones, and "generated by AI"? What does that even mean? or do you think you just need to throw the word AI in there and call it a day?
Others : Just do it
Xperia : Just did it
Just did what? Removed the 4K screen? 🤦🏻♂️
Sony should start mking underscreen speakers just like their own tv & mke real fullscreen phone with no bezels on top btm
❤❤ Sony ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
the company has been so much weaker then it used to be.......
no US release ....
The best phone of this year 🔥🔥
I love Sony Xperia mobile
llegará a México?😅
why uploading a 1080p video in 2024?
that's a straight up downgrade
Xperia Pro III needs to be the US market device released 6 months from now. SNAPDRAGON 8 Gen 4. 4k screen, and 1 inch sensors with ai upgraded Auto Modes
If it met all of these requirements and was priced significantly higher than other companies' flagship models, would you buy it? And do you think it would sell in sufficient numbers to be commercially successful?
Cant buy in US?
TR Türkiye de bir şekilde satış olsa Çinli ve ederinden fahiş fiyatlarla satılan mobil (cep) telefonlardan gına geldi !
This panel, the size and the features, is a great disappointment, it is a setback in the technology that Sony had accustomed us to, having the best of technology in our hands, a 4k panel With a unique and special 21:9 format, it is a setback in many ways, and the worst part loses part of the essence of the personality of the Xperia 1 series
If there were many people who wanted 4K & 21:9 and supported it, this change may not have been made. Sony has not been bound by the insistence of forcing it on people, and has focused on increasing the experience value of many people in order to survive in the industry. This means that there will be no cutting off of the left and right sides in short videos on TikTok and RUclips, the battery will last much longer, and it will be much easier to see outdoors. These are on another level. Some people are dissatisfied when they look at the specs on the surface, but the display is so well-made that it is almost impossible to tell the difference between the displays. In fact, there may be more people who think it has become beautiful. Please try comparing the real thing.
❤️🇨🇷 hermoso
Just got a Xperia 1 V. Will this be the last Sony phone available in the USA?

Expensive and undeserved price for less features
The cost performance of smartphones in China and other countries certainly seems good, but Sony has a high level of consideration, especially in terms of safety. For example, smartphones in China and other countries where the national system itself is different have been criticized for their lack of transparency in terms of information security, and excessively fast charging is also questionable in terms of safety. This specification significantly shortens the battery life, and in a few years the battery performance will be incomparable to Sony's.
S-CINESTONE? OR NOT
I think the changes in the display’s aspect ratio AND resolution were the right moves for Sony to make! While I haven’t seen this phone in person yet, I don’t see how 396 PPI wouldn’t be sharp enough - the difference in pixel density when compared to the previous 4K display is likely imperceptible to the eye at any reasonably usable distance! Furthermore, this change seems to have helped facilitate the profound improvement in battery endurance that we now get, along with the newer and denser battery tech of course. Overall, I think this phone is an excellent rival to the likes of the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The problem for most people is the asking price. People would forgive 1080p at say $700. Asking for $1400 and not providing QHD is disrespectful. At least give the people an option like most OEMs to drop from QHD to 1080p.
To me 1080p and 19.5:9 aint a downgrade, it's more suitable for gaming since the display is better and will have longer battery due to 1080p. I hope that Xperia 5 vi would be 720p and 19.5:9 with 3 camera lenses at the back.
720p LMAO
🤗
Да ладно, вы живы?❤
🥰
I'm not sure how much anyone needed a 4k 6 inch screen. If anything, it only pushes the chip to work harded all the time and it will make the phone get hot immediately in a demanding app. Maybe not 1080p, maybe a happy medium would have been the best choice, but I think this will give the phone more heat aoaking headroom, which Sony had issues with before, so I like it. Everything else is just great!
I was waiting for this for years Sony…I sold my iPhone 14 Pro 3 months after I got it and used my X because i heard the rumors of the VI…But now NO US release 🤦♂️ I’m really one of those ppl who truly are happy you guys didn’t just follow the trends but it makes it difficult to love you guys. The Z3 Compact made me switch to android years ago💔💔💔….I GUESS I HAVE TO WAIT FOR IPHONE 16 PRO lineup😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒
This was definitely the year I was planning to full switch to android but y’all broke my heart💔
With xtra good support for green lines.
Downside: price, no longer 4k, plain boxing.
Others are great though.
No 7 years of support
Weaker battery than 24 ultra
And overall, worse processor performance than 24 Ultra.
For $1400 makes no sense
Them pulling out of the US market is the first sign of the end for this mobile company
The end is near.
