Maybe it's a bit OCD of me, but there's one thing that has made me use an Xperia phone for the past 6 years. The screen. No, not because they have better screens than any other manufacturer, it's because they don't have any daft potholes, notches, pillholes etc in them. Just can't use any phone with one. The screen holes just catch my eye and I can't unsee them.
Yes, even the curved bezel on the Huawei P20 Pro was distracting for me. Sony has kept things classic, practical, no-nonsense. The only thing that the Xperia 1 VI lacks is the anti-glare Gorilla Armor, which is also stronger than Victus 2.
One thing that rubs me the wrong way is how people criticized Sony's "overkill" 4K display and wanted a lower resolution, yet now present the FHD+ display as inferior to Samsung's BECAUSE OF the inferior ppi. What do people want? Lower resolution, or higher?
The people rarely know what’s best. Virtually nobody ever realises the main bottleneck behind the camera image quality is the quality of the optics of the lens

Hi! I changed my galaxy s24 ultra to Sony Xperia 1 VI because I'm used to the quality, and unfortunately the galaxy s24 ultra still doesn't offer quality but only quantity over and over again. The Xperia 1 VI offers quality, although the Xperia screen should be a little better than just HDR+, it is compensated by a very long battery life, a pretty good camera with its natural color gamut, a very fast phone, and the Xperia doesn't even have the upgrades that have been done on the s24 ultra and every update made the s24 ultra camera worse and worse and more! Sony every time. Those who know, know. Samsung just make fake Sony. Xperia since day 1. Still got all of them. Never a cracked screen. Better picture, audio, battery,... SAMSUNG. COPYING SONY FOR 40 YEARS. 👍
A 1.5k screen (yes it's the minimum today, and above all, Samsung was criticized for years for its S+ which were "just FHD"), 4 years minimum of Android update (but the smartphone must be released in February at the latest, not 2-3 months before the new Android version and especially the new Snapdragon) because there, it's no longer even 3 years of updating but 2 years in real life, a 1" main sensor, better video stabilization, keeping its niche features (Pro Camera, colorimetry, headphone jack, SD card) by adding mainstream features (better HDR, better photo night mode good auto camera like on iPhones, Galaxy and other smartphones), a "really" good telescopic zoom, and above all a price of $1000- $1100 max, there, Sony will be able to get back into the game. 🙏🏽

I think sonny will add a night mode or tweak the HDR and general brightness of nighttime shots with updates as my 4 year old Xperia 1 ii shoots better night time shots than it used to when new and for most phones it's usually the other way around they get worse as they get older to make you buy the newer model 😆
Xperia and Galaxy are not similar at all. To understand this deeply, it is worth knowing that the differences in the way each country thinks are at the root. Sony, which makes Xperia, is a Japanese company. Japan is a country that values naturalness. Therefore, even today, there are few people who want to have cosmetic surgery, and when this becomes clear, they tend not to be viewed favorably. Samsung, which makes Galaxy, is a Korean company. Korea is a country that is greedy to obtain ideal beauty even if it is artificially done. This sometimes leads to the idea that it is okay to be beautiful even if it is a lie. As a result, Korea has become known as one of the world's leading cosmetic surgery powerhouses, and it is a culture in which most beautiful women walking around the city have had cosmetic surgery. This is also connected to the direction of smartphone development, and Xperia cameras tend to value the natural color seen by the eye and do not intervene artificially as much as possible. If I had to say, there is a part that aims to take photos that reflect only the photographer's intentions. Therefore, unless it is intended, AI will almost never add any flavor. On the other hand, Galaxy cameras are exactly like Korea itself, and it is better to take beautiful photos even if they are fake, right? This idea is at the root of it. Therefore, AI also actively intervenes, aiming to take flashy and beautiful photos regardless of who takes them, rather than following the photographer's intentions. As a result, it has succeeded in generating flashy and eye-catching images for social media. However, if you ask whether the photos are tasteful, you will quickly tire of them, so it's safe to say that they are best suited for social media. We can't say which is right, but these two models are clearly suited to different people. “Why the iPhone sells well to Japanese people.” It's a very simple story. There are many different types of people in Japan, and the reason is that many people are very brand-dependent. Another factor is that in Japan, it is mainstream for carriers to sell devices, but Apple imposed strict sales quotas on carriers, which led to iPhones being offered at unusually low prices. Therefore, iPhones are especially popular among light users who are not very knowledgeable about smartphones and people who are not very wealthy (however, due to political intervention in this area, more and more people are unable to buy new iPhones because they are too expensive). Also, a strange atmosphere has been created among high school and college students, where people feel that if they don't have an iPhone, they can't join in. In short, many people treat smartphones like fashion items, and carriers sell them at a large discount, and as the number of iPhone users has increased to a certain level, the situation where students cannot communicate well with their friends without using Airdrop has spread.

Only Experia owners will say that this review is a bad one. The Sony phones are for manual photos, and they always show you the auto mode and not the results when you use the manual. This is the main power of the sony, bit they never show it😂
Yeah but using manual mode or shooting in RAW and post processing your images is not a realistic use case for 99% of people. If I'm taking photos with my phone then I expect decent quality instantly, if I want to have a proper photoshoot, use manual and edit my pictures then I'm using my DSLR
Samsung is trash. I never get these videos. I've had both the S23 ultra (which stopped charging after 6 months) and the Xperia 1 V. And for people who just want to point and shoot, put the Xperia on P (program mode) and the phone does everything for you, or you can change things on the fly. It's easy. It works very well. My 1iii are still good and had no issues with the sensor.
Grenade manufacturer(Note 7 boom + guaranteed OLED purple /green liner) v.s. Industrial leader. You decide.
Xperia got green line too
Nobody buys sony phones lol. Not even japs or wapanese people. Nipon is iphone land.
Hi Everyone,
can you please answer
When you take a selfie pic or video; can it be flipped? before or after
can you change the font and size, and the menu lay out or do you use theme launchers?
How often are the updates on the Sony?
Please assist.
Sony every time. Those who know, know. Samsung just make fake Sony. Xperia since day 1. Still got all of them. Never a cracked screen. Better picture, audio, battery,... SAMSUNG. COPYING SONY FOR 40 YEARS. 👍
Samsung looks so stupid to me you are almost walking around with a TV, Sony ftw.
🙏🏽
I own a Samsung but tbh it's getting awfuly annoying how big Samsung Ultras are, specially for people with, well, regular sized hands
This is why the standard S24 exists 🤷🏽♂️
@@rolins3279 I clearly stated the Ultras are getting too big
I shouldn't have to have half a tablet to get a good camera
@@my2randomcents And as I said above, that's why the S24 and S24 Plus exist, for those who want more compact smartphones 🤷🏽♂️
@@rolins3279 your reading comprehension is null huh?

Please can you compare it to iPhone if someone use Mac is worth to use Xperia 1 VI and also compare to Xiaomi 14 Ultra, Huawei Pura 70 and Oppo X7 in camera department especially to include macro and tele
Sony wins for me
I wish there was a way we could see the camera comparison without AI.
I think sonny will add a night mode or tweak the HDR and general brightness of nighttime shots with updates as my 4 year old Xperia 1 ii shoots better night time shots than it used to when new and for most phones it's usually the other way around they get worse as they get older to make you buy the newer model 😆
So maybe Sony dont need a protect case?
I've owned Sony phones before anyone even knew they existed. I am a huge Sony fan boy.
Who used Xperia he will just like it or love it in overall ❤ wether have more or less options with other competitors
Sony is the real king
I enjoyed macro photography and found sony to have a better DOF photo around here. As for the rest, I choose samsung.
Based on another reviewer Sony doesn't use all the power of the chip.
Xperia❤
Last sony phone in 2018 sony Xperia xz premium sony is masterpiece
now i use s23 ultra
Sony alpha crazy smartphone manual monstrers 4 k 🤦🤷 display
Dafuq?
I Like them both and I hate them both. My Xperia 1 IV is starting to fail so I need a new one.
Sony xperia 1 vi is better
“Why the iPhone sells well to Japanese people.”
It's a very simple story.
Everything you say is fine and well put, but tell me then, why do even Japanese not buy Sony smartphones, and only buy everything that is American 🤔

🚩The grass is greener in the USA syndrome!!!
False reality. Japan!🇯🇵.Sad.
Thinking about leaving Xperia and going to Galaxy...my Xperia I IV is very underwhelming....
And there want one set of circumstances that the Samsung took better pictures. My wife and I went on vacation, her having a Samsung, and my phone took better photos. And for people who just want to point and shoot, put the Xperia on P (program mode) and the phone does everything for you, or you can change things on the fly. It's easy. I really don't get these tests results at all. Samsung TVs are garbage too by the way for the same reasons. Oversaturated, unrealistic over processing garbage. My Sony OLED will be at any Samsung TV as well
Samsung has become absolute dogshit recently. I've been using samsung for a while now but I'm def moving back to Sony on my next phoo....o, my samsung just stopped charging; time to finance an xperia, I guess.
Sony should produce a flip and fold phone with microsd slot et head phone jack! It will be amazing!
Ah man.. a modern reboot of the old clamshells would make me way more excited than I should be.
Here's why i bought Sony, although im loving Spen in Samsung. Tbh, without Spen, i wouldnt even get Samsung.
Sony have everything a phone wants. Audio jack, memory card, i love the V ratio, but now loving VI ratio. Super good Battery....its everything u need. Of course, the lacking is there...and truth is, i only bought one at 810usd/rm3500. Above 1000 was ridiculous for me. Even if im rich - maybe
I stopped using Sony as both previous phones just slowly died for no reason even though the physical phone was in tip-top shape.
Poor software support or even some backdoor malware causing the phones to slowly die.
The probably have kill switches . Not surprising from sony.
Both are too expensive. Both are too big.
Not for me.
The sony should be 6.8".
@@rexluminus9867 it should be 6
Samsung has many many features than Xperia
WOW 👑 SONY GOD FOREVER 🥇✌️👑
Paid review from ☠️☠️samsung☠️☠️
I would never buy a 21 by 9 phone. Get back to 18 by 9.. i dont need a long dong schlong phone. I need a phone for typing aswell.
This guy: "Samsungs camera wins every single catagory and its only real criticism is colours are too vivid, if you want the better phone go for the samsung"
The comments: "I burned down a samsung factory to show sony how much I love paying double the price for an inferior phone"
There is no competition, sony skin interface is garbage. S24 Ultra all the way.
