Thanks for your comment, and sorry your right Tamiya is Japanese, I also think your totally right about the aftermarket parts, this kit really is all good to go out of the box.
you should look up the final conclusion video ;-)

Nice review. These aftermarket extra's are often built for expensive models, whereas they would make more of a difference to less expensive and less detailed models. The real improvement here is the engine nozzles, I think. I would buy them. If you're skilled enough to make the most out of this Tamiya kit, you don't really need the aftermarket stuff. It's a great kit, by the look of it. Btw, I thought Tamiya was Japanese, not Chinese. Trumpeter is Chinese, I think.

Cool!... I still have a Revell 1/32 F4J still in it's box!... read a book called USMC Phantoms in combat by Lou Drendel👍✈️

Watching this video 10 years later in mid 2022 and the kit is now on sale online for £104.95.
Even back then it was never a £120 kit even if that is what it cost you to buy it.

@@genessismodels Its not even that, its the retailers.
      The Italeri Tornado.
How many bought it just after release day for £130-140???
Its going for just under £100 online now and thats retail.
I know some retailers who bought it wholesale for about £95 and still sold it for its RRP because its its RRP and why shouldnt they make £45 profit.

To be honest the mark up for sellers is not the best in the scale modeling world, now I have started selling my self I can see why so many retail shops have closed, as for these big costly kits, its one of these items that a lot if sellers sell at a 20% discount just to get people to buy from them, but to not make any profit just new customers.
Sadly even just 20% off does not leave us with much of a profit.
But yes as scale modeler, to still see an old kit like Tamiya’s phantom still cost so much and to see the tornado cost so much from a company that is good, but not the best manufacturer of kits, is off putting.

How does this kit compare to the revell 1/32 wild weasel kit?

Not even close. This model is in a different leage. The plastic is thicker and heavier. And way more detail.
