Thanks for sharing how you did this. We have a 104 year old house and my dust allergies are killing me from the old carpet. However, we have hardwood underneath! It appears there may be some paint splatters on the floor as well but it's nice to know how to get that off and stain them to look like new again.
Thanks for watching. You should definitely remove that old carpet and expose the wood floors! Honestly I think a few paint splatters and imperfections is the way floors should look in a 100 year old house.
@@jamesmendini we removed carpet from one room last night and it looks good, although there are sticky black spots all over from the pad breaking down that we have to find a way to clean
definitely inspirational. I am planning on doing the same for my house when I decide to remove the carpet in the future. Thanks for the encouragement and demo. :). SUBSCRIBED. 176
What bit of sanding paper did you use? Did you use any special tools to remove the taks. Steal wool, clean the debris, wax light sand, repeat until you get your desired shade.
You left the most important part out! How did you clean the floors up before staining them?
He didn’t say but Murphy soap mixed with warm water works great

i like your video. can you share the link where you bought your material
Nicely done
Great video, but would have liked to see how you got from dirty crapy looking floor to nice stained clean looking floor
nice job!!
how did you fix the floors if there are cracks or gaps by the edge where it meets the wall? the final result looks amazing!
Wood filler maybe and light sanding
That's all part of the charm
Yeah it looks good to me 👍
Pry bars work better for removing tack strips than chisels.
That's the route I took. Worked wonders
Looks great. Did you do anything extra to get the stains out besides using the wool like sponge?
Encouraging that it didn’t require a heavy sanding down to bare wood.
Maybe tap the nails and pry up?
I gasped
Muito bom
Dog pee stains
@@chihuahuamartin24 I hope not 😂😂
