One suggestion (that will probably get me cancelled on Twitter again) is to ban Overtriggers in big events. Basically playing competitive Smash. No Overtriggers, Standard Only, BCS = No Items, Fox Only, Final Destination in Vanguard.

I'm gonna be honest my man, I use to be on the stigma that OT's are harmless cause they're a one of. But you know, as the days went on, and I started thinking more and more about it, I'm now more on this awkward grey area with it. Yeah mechanically this one card is a gamechanger (for the worse), making every deck a ticking time bomb race to see who pulls it off first, AND at the most appropriate time. But it's here to stay sadly because some schmuck in the Bushiroad building one day went to Mori and said, "hey you know what'd be a great idea??". Now I'm sitting here eating me own words after making some posts on the Vanguardians page AND on top of that, just excepting it as is at this point. Fingers crossed that Bushi will somehow fix this issue. In my opinion, one of two ways to fix the OT, either ban them, or make them 20k. Why 20k? Because it is a somewhat manageable number. But even then I'm sure that's not a well thought out idea. Anyway love your videos. Please keep making more!

And now over trigger is at an sticky point: i think a lot of standard trial decks have one of them. Banning OTs will make them invalid by default. Imagine you just started, bought a trial deck, trying it out just to be reminded that they are automatically invalid.
2 weeks ago i would've argued with you that overtriggers dont effext the game. But after some test playing, the one of argument thing i dont use it know more cause while testing even though them showin up was random it could easily sway the game around like a palm tree in a hurricane, easily slapping a victory out of the deserved win of the good player, or just bring the gane to a screeching halt while you and your opponent have to play to pick up the games speed again which scares me with tourney time limits.

Okay. Damn it I love this video. I am behind you on these statements. I was excited for overdress until I lost my first tournament all because of an OT. Whats even more is they did best 2/3. My opponent hit there's on all three games. I had control on all three games up until that point. Couple days later my GF was kicking my ass. I drew pretty awful and couldn't keep up my aggression than I hit my OT and BAM. I survived what was to be 6 attacks off the first damage being my OT. I drew, healed, and my next turn got some more hand back and after that creeped my way back to a win I knew I didn't deserve. When asked she could have done better. I got nothing... hit your OT thats about it.

Bushi seems to want games to be fast, which V supports this with explosive effects they have(DOTX...), if that's the case they can have timers like in chess to prevent players from stalling or taking too long and dial back on such explosive turns (which I think bushi is doing this looking, at D series effects.) Tier 2 premium is literally the best vanguard ever. It’s that top tier that’s ruining the game right now. The game could seriously benefit from a banlist just murdering the entire tier 1

Then bushiroad made decks who can rig their overtirgger and decks that compress harder than luard ever did 😂 Kinda sad when bushiroad can fuck up a format so bad I start missing tier 0 formats Here's my totally lazy idea how to fix over triggers: errata them to only give 50k power, still insane but keeps the intent alive while allowing the other player a chance to guard it with their own over trigger But tbf bushiroad has no intention of fixing the worst format yet so guess I'm going to enjoy my locals version of Edison format where we just ban ichikishima and gyze and make g format great again
1 year later these things still exist and has only in flamed the issue again recently. I honestly don't like the mechanic it fundamentally drove me away from the game because I saw the writing on the wall for how bad it will feel to win or lose to these cards. What honestly hurts more is that the brainless arguments still used to justify them just scream of people not understanding what makes this game fun but also the sheer anxiety nightmare that is perpetually having to hold 2 pgs if you even can in order to not lose to OTs or just keep yourself at 4 depending on the match up. I tried coming back to the game half way through and just got 2-0d by my opp riding to grade 3 driving checking crit + ot twice in brandt gate forcing me to 5 and just steamrolling from value generated from that pressure. It isn't fun to resolve these cards and it isn't fun being hit by them, their very existence is detrimental to the game for me and I assume others. The defence of them just screams to me that the people that want them to stay are the ones that disproportionately benefit from them and suffer from a bad case of main character syndrome thinking they deserve every win regardless of if they played like complete garbage.
Dude the core gameplay is triggers but abilities can still overcome triggers cause I play bruce,zorga and orfist and even when my opponent gets the over trigger and I have still found the way to win so it's not a 100% win card

You have a brain so I wanna run this by you Lemme preface this by saying I haven't seen an entire Overdress episode to completion (Skimmed through parts of episode one to see the allegedly hype fight) So going off that and what I've heard (OverDress doesnt feature the card game like other seasons) I start to wonder what the point of an Overdress anime even is. Without Vanguard, it literally becomes a generic anime and if that's the case why bother. I get what Bushiroad is doing in trying to widen the net to catch seasonal garbage eaters with the high production value, but unless you play the game anyway that first fight made zero sense to you. OG Season 1 Vanguard did it right, by establishing early the relationship between the game and the main character. The immediate subsequent episode explains how the game works so now in the future, the fights can flow more smoothly. If Vanguard isn't the focus of the anime, I'm tuning out. Not because the show is bad, but because I came specifically to see Vanguard, not a slice of life anime I have my pick of the litter from. The view counts reflect exactly what I'm saying, with an absurd drop off from episode 1 (900k views) to episode 2 (100k views). Garbage eaters left, they didn't get what was happening and this wasn't something they even cared about. This isn't a Vanguard anime, its an anime with Vanguard in it. That's my piece, lemme know how much glue you think I eat and I'll recommend my favorite brands.

I've come to the conclusion that overtrigger's main problem is the power gain. a 5th heal, whatever, if you need another heal play better. it cycles itself, okay. vanguard draws at minimum 2/3 cards a turn naturally, unless you don't want to. it can have a powerful effect on the drive check. that's been a a mechanic in the game before ( hi OTT) and they just moved the effect to the trigger rather than the vanguard. overwhelmingly MASSIVE power gain that in any deck, is the absurdity. you can't overcome it unless your clan/nation negates triggers, or resets opponent's power. and only in the battle phase. I can see angel feather full cardpool premium just rescue checking until they find the keter sanctuary OT, and then attempting something like a surgery angel loop to attack with the 100mil unit 7 times.

I will say that I have only played the end of G. So right when Chaos got support. So thats probably why. It's still an amazing format though!!

The defence of them just screams to me that the people that want them to stay are the ones that disproportionately benefit from them and suffer from a bad case of main character syndrome thinking they deserve every win regardless of if they played like complete garbage.

Dude the core gameplay is triggers but abilities can still overcome triggers cause I play bruce,zorga and orfist and even when my opponent gets the over trigger and I have still found the way to win so it's not a 100% win card
Your opponent is probably a bad player then, either that or you’re lucky. You can say whatever you want about your personal experiences but I’m sorry to say that you’re in the minority, and people have ran the numbers.

Lemme preface this by saying I haven't seen an entire Overdress episode to completion (Skimmed through parts of episode one to see the allegedly hype fight)
So going off that and what I've heard (OverDress doesnt feature the card game like other seasons) I start to wonder what the point of an Overdress anime even is.
Without Vanguard, it literally becomes a generic anime and if that's the case why bother.
I get what Bushiroad is doing in trying to widen the net to catch seasonal garbage eaters with the high production value, but unless you play the game anyway that first fight made zero sense to you.
OG Season 1 Vanguard did it right, by establishing early the relationship between the game and the main character. The immediate subsequent episode explains how the game works so now in the future, the fights can flow more smoothly.
If Vanguard isn't the focus of the anime, I'm tuning out. Not because the show is bad, but because I came specifically to see Vanguard, not a slice of life anime I have my pick of the litter from.
The view counts reflect exactly what I'm saying, with an absurd drop off from episode 1 (900k views) to episode 2 (100k views). Garbage eaters left, they didn't get what was happening and this wasn't something they even cared about.
This isn't a Vanguard anime, its an anime with Vanguard in it.

I've come to the conclusion that overtrigger's main problem is the power gain. a 5th heal, whatever, if you need another heal play better. it cycles itself, okay. vanguard draws at minimum 2/3 cards a turn naturally, unless you don't want to. it can have a powerful effect on the drive check. that's been a a mechanic in the game before ( hi OTT) and they just moved the effect to the trigger rather than the vanguard.
overwhelmingly MASSIVE power gain that in any deck, is the absurdity. you can't overcome it unless your clan/nation negates triggers, or resets opponent's power. and only in the battle phase.
I can see angel feather full cardpool premium just rescue checking until they find the keter sanctuary OT, and then attempting something like a surgery angel loop to attack with the 100mil unit 7 times.
Theres a lot of shit compounding. I also hate the almost infinite power but I digress
rescue checks don't work on the OT but yeah its a problem
