If I may add a word to this conversation started by Nerdburgler: Just keep doing what your doing. Your channel is in the process of becoming bigger than anyone can imagine. High quality (no matter the art form) never sinks; like high quality cream it will only rise to the top. The reward of patience is patience. I do believe that your patience will be highly regarded and will be well rewarded. Keep on keeping on. 🎼
@@QJamTracks maybe your content is too good, I mean, popular content is not always the best or valuable by others, a lot of people just want to be entertained without the need of taking knowledge, new skills, education, etc. As you said, you have to be patient, keep doing what you do and people will come.
Combining these shapes with root note locations on the neck will speed up my learning of note locations, while at the same time provide much food for thought in learning theory. The versatility of these one-octave shapes or arpeggios, and even one-octave scales like pentatonics and blues, "octavated" across the neck, eliminates a lot of tedium and boredom. In addition to that, the expansion of my knowledge of the various degree locations related to the roots will help in other ways, such as modal soloing and related chord constructions. I like that new word "octavate". LOL
I have been viewing your videos for about 6 months now. I've been playing for 2 years after a 35 year hiatus, and basically starting from scratch. I love your channel, but It's been like learning Portuguese from a Greek radio station. But I have to say I'm betting better being forced to try to make sense more advanced lessons. Today's lesson I actually got 80% of it. Wow, I think I can actually order lunch in Portuguese now. Thanks, I'm getting there.
Really really really good lesson. The way you demonstrate the different sound based upon the context of the chord being played behind the arpeggio is fantastic. It really lends itself to viewing music as a language and not just thinking of it as notes which I think is something that is lost on most lessons on the internet.
I started learning guitar in my 50's l I jumped into the deep end fiest then in the last year , I analyzed my learning I had more holes in it then swiss cheese, I completely by- passed Caged Chords Appregios now I have been focusing on these items, I find its really helping me developing my understanding of chords and chord progression, this a great lesson , the quality is brilliant thanks!
This is a fantastic lesson. One of the biggest issues in learning guitar in my opinion is the focus is never on the SOUND of a scale relative to the chord. I would have done so many things differently if I had hindsight when I started playing at 7 years old.
I've been playing bass for years. Guitar for about 4 years. I've been subscribed to you (Q Jam Tracks) for a year and a half or so. And I'm shredding pretty well. I have made gains watching your videos. I love all the exotic scales & these simple arpeggios and you teach very well and I am able to understand it & remember it. Thank you. I will share this video now with my son who is studying guitar.
Honestly, The Matrix just gets better each and every single time I watch it. It's so deeply powerful and evocative with its resounding relevance. I don't know what people think it's about, but it's truly spiritual. Great reference and lesson. Thanks. "What is the matrix? Control." as Neo walks by the cop writing a ticket. Absolute favorite scene while 'Clubbed to Death' plays. Peak pre-millenium culture. Sorry for the rant, take care.
❣ I took the red pill, and I must say that I dug it. Cross referencing the fretboard patterns to the interval patterns made this complex modal and melodic chordal arpeggiation crystal clear. Now there's work to be done. "Fascinating!" -Spock..
This video is a goldmine/wealth of information. Take notes- dare I say screenshots (for your personal use only), and I can see this being immensely helpful to pretty much any guitarist
Such a goldmine this channel. As a way of giving back even if I am not watching anymore I'll keep the videos playing. Thank you so much for your good work!
Me too bruh. This relatively short video managed to expand a range of emotions that I thought would be automatic when selecting scales, but I had a lot of frustration trying it that way.
Great lesson. I have to slower the video down in playback Speed 0.25 to see what you mean. I don't know how to read sheets but, I have always learned by ear and both of my eyes. Thanx again for the lesson. Will practice these everyday till I get better and then speed up my practicing.
Absolutely brilliant! Thank -you! I completely do not understand anything you spoke of. I know nothing about theory, and play out my emotions and what I feel . I wish I had the extensive library of knowledge you have at your disposal! Thanks any how for trying to teach us near mortals how to be better guitarist🙏🏻👍🏻😁☮️
Sir you are a wealth of knowledge. The playing part seems rather simple compared to the lesson in theory.. Excellent lesson. I will have to play this video several times to get a grip on the connections.
Seriously that was a proper deep dive. You really have opened my eyes to the many variables of sound from these concept's I need to dicect this further, but amazing information and demonstration, please keep it up. Many Thanks.😊
I haven’t been seeing guitar tutorials videos lately (for the past 4 months) and this, beside being an AMAZING LESSON, was just what I needed to dive back to my guitar ls! Thank you very much!! I just love tour channel!!!! Cheers from Brazil 🇧🇷!!!
Voila soixante ans que je joue de la guitare. Il y a toujours à apprendre, et il m’arrive souvent de cliquer sur un tuto dans you tube. Decevant la plupart du temps. Mais là je suis tombé sur une pépite. You must be a great musician to give out so generously such valuable stuff.
Love that clean sound playing, it is like using your camera on M-setting, you really test your skills. Then you hit the pedal on auto. As a beginning beginner, you are speaking Greek to me. But there's the challenge.
12:03 - it's a major third :) (I think just a small lapse) Overall - it is tremendous work and perfect representation of theme, like all these years. Although the algorithm showed me this channel only 2 days ago...
Thank You for this; It has the elements of an entire Arpeggio, as one. The flash is up to the player.... Always remember Your ROOT Note/Chord, or key of the Pattern/Arpeggio; for your resolutions.
This is a spectacular guitar lesson. Sincerely man-Thank you for awakening us on how to play much better with your great talent, skills, and knowledge! This is great content.
This is a wonderful instructional video. I was already using the first arpeggio but you've opened my eyes to how a small change in my playing can open up whole new melodic possibilities. Thank you for sharing.
I have been practicing this Gmaj7 arps for a few months now that skills to Guitar playalong channel. Now I know how to apply them! Thanks for this awesome video! Your videos are seriously the best on RUclips. Easy to digest and great to pick out what you need for any situation.
“Prelude” from Final Fantasy (Nobuo Uematsu) is a fun one to play if you have a seven-string guitar. I’m sure it can be played on other guitars, but I like the tone that the seventh string sounds.
I just watched this queuing on the post office trying hard not to laugh at the matrix reference 😂 - I have watched most of Qjamtracks and lots to go still, this is probably the funniest so far 😅 - learning whilst laughing why not? Keep up the good work! #bestguitarinstructorofalltimes 🎉
This would be crystal clear if I had a clue what you're talking about! Kidding, sort of...this is the kind of instruction that can be put to immediate use, even if I don't fully understand the theory behind it all
Great conceptual way to implement the chord tones. Would you mind making a video explaining how we can implement the same pattern but with a minor third instead? I’m hoping to unlock some mean harmonic minor concepts expectedly.
This is just fantastic 💥👏….absolutely the best breakout of this concept I’ve ever seen ❤…immediately accessible and applicable to the fretboard….like, RIGHT NOW ☝️🍻 …well done 👍🏻
Agreed this is amazing content, production quality is fantastic and the music theory is great! Thanks so much for putting in all this time into your videos!!!!
Everyone who watches this please just give it a like it’s one of the best guitar tutorials I’ve seen in years. It’ll also help his algorithm!!!!
Your channel is easily one of the best resources for self taught guitarists on the internet. Thank you so much
So brilliant and generous- yet hardly any viewers compared to other useless channels. An indictment of RUclips society ?
Thank you! I don't know why I struggle to get faster growth. Maybe I need to be patient or maybe it's the algorithm not responding well to my content.

Thanks for posting the actual notation...notation spells out the theory plain as day.
Good lesson.
The tone you have when you played the g major 7 arpeggio with that distorted sound was just beautiful
Thanks
"two things at the same time" flashes to Mr.Smith. Well played Sir.

At 6:20 you have an F natural labelled as an F# on the 3rd string, which is mixolydian.
It should be an F# in the 4th position, since it's G major.
This video is a goldmine/wealth of information. Take notes- dare I say screenshots (for your personal use only), and I can see this being immensely helpful to pretty much any guitarist
E Minor arpeggios are the best.
The first pattern is a Marty Friedman shape! Sounds awesome.
Such a goldmine this channel. As a way of giving back even if I am not watching anymore I'll keep the videos playing. Thank you so much for your good work!
So over my head, but helpful none the less. Comprehension I can only dream of!
Your presentation and pace works well for me. Thank you !
How have I not known about these lessons... exquisite chords too
I am flabbergasted... I've looked for these kind of sounds for years and never got anywhere using scale shapes
Me too bruh. This relatively short video managed to expand a range of emotions that I thought would be automatic when selecting scales, but I had a lot of frustration trying it that way.
This was gold. So much info explained so simply. Thank you 🙏

Greatest guitar tutorial ever!!!
Surprise Matrix references cannot be beaten
Sir you are a wealth of knowledge. The playing part seems rather simple compared to the lesson in theory.. Excellent lesson. I will have to play this video several times to get a grip on the connections.
Fantastic and eye-opening lesson. This will keep me busy for a very long time!
Ahhh, time to jam guitar all day and a new video....most excellent.
Awesome explanation with pictures! Thank you!
Wow, profound revelations!, this was very helpful, now we know what David Chastain is doing! Fantastic lesson
BRO!!! ALL CAPS THIS DUDES GUITAR SOUNDS SO GOOD OVER THAT SOUND BED!!! URR MURR GURRD
Love the paint on that guitar!
literally after the burial - a vicious reforming of features solo
this sounds just ✨magnificient✨
this is so clear and easy to digest, just what every one needs to understand arpeggios
Just unbelievable !!
nice and easy no wasted time speaking unnecessary bs + really affordable E-books , definitively I will get some.
Creative!!! I never thought of using these arpeggios like this.
Seriously that was a proper deep dive. You really have opened my eyes to the many variables of sound from these concept's I need to dicect this further, but amazing information and demonstration, please keep it up. Many Thanks.😊
underrated content right here

As long as you keep putting out stuff like this, this are going to be part of a little 20 min practice session before work each day.
Tkx just connected some dots. I already knew the major one but never though about how that can improve my Lydian sounds! ❤

First 4 bars of Gmaj7#11 over C#m7b5 are so romantic. I'm stealing those that fhrase in second bar ;)
Best Lesson😁
Beautiful music. I hope some day I will understand any of this lol and can try to play it
Muchas gracias, sus videos son excelentes de lo mejor que he visto
Got heaps thank you.
Exactly what I need!
always great lessons.
very good thankx
At about 6:20, F# is found on the fourth fret, not the third as diagrammed. But that's a minor mistake on a very good video!
