Now that's really nice. The truck has been reborn thanks to you, Steve. This was a great upgrade. Thank you for making the videos for us. Best from Norway.
Congratulations. Really nice instal. I'm sure it looked a bit overwhelming at first. Like you say take your time, double check and go for it and before you know it the loose wires become less. Sounds great, looks just as good. Something anyone would be proud to own. You are a man with a lot of talent and are not afraid to go outside of your comfort zone. Thanks for taking us along with along on your Holley adventure. See you next Saturday.

The system sounds WONDERFUL! Those old Chevys are near and dear to my heart. Seeing this one made mint and better brings me joy. Thanks Steve!!
Great result Steve, a thoughtful and intelligent wiring job mate, even if you really don't like wiring lol The initial timing was absolutely spot on, I've never heard a cold engine's throttle response so crisp even from the very first blip of the throttle. You showed us you were checking the timing with the light and I reckon you didn't have to adjust it at all by the sound of it because it was so crisp on start up. So all in all an extremely good kit from Holley I'm truly impressed with it. Once you have those little lean spots sorted and I expect that will sort itself out once the ecu learns the engine, as you said. Enjoy it mate it's the end of a magnificent rebuild of your old square body Chevy and you deserve to enjoy it as you have entertained us with it for the best part of a year and four or five months. Cheers from the UK

Happy Saturday Steve, Cora, and Grits! Great Job on the Hilley System. Once into Fuel Injection, you will never go back. Your perception on clean power and good grounds is right on! We had so many issues with this when Detroit Diesel first converted units in the field. Must be clean power. Wished you would have put ypur foot in it on camera. I know you did for real. Nicely done sir! One point of clarification, there are two types of Tesa tape. The fuzzy one is for inside use, the non-fuzzy one is for underhood use.
Steve, I can't remember what engine block you used but classic SBC has a bolt boss that intersects the bore of the fuel pump push rod, which you deleted. Sometimes that can leak some oil and a short 3/8-16 bolt will work as a 'plug'. Truck looks and sounds great. Would be interested to see more footage on tuning and fiddling with the fuel map with the laptop when you get there. Thanks.
Good morning Steve from Wales in the UK. I was hoping to be 1st to check in to see what's new in your shop this week, but I was beaten to it by Paul from the UK. David H.
Hello Steve, from Scotland. Great build. I'm thinking the ignition switch is not allowing 12v through to the ignition system while in the cranking position. As a test; try just touching the starter and let go the key. I reckon it'll start right up without the 2-3 cranks first.
Excellent job Steve! More importantly you will help many with their installation and choices. Nice to see you were able to use the MSD crimper I sent you.
Steve, when I have to mount a flat unit on uneven walls like that, I cut a piece of 1/4 copper tubing to fill the gap behind the unit which stanchions it off and I run the screw through my unit, through the copper tubing, and into the wall securing without vibration.
There are two ways to knock down RFI, you can put a gentle twist in the wires and avoid sensitive areas. Option two is to get shielded wiring sleeve to pull over the wiring . Another thing I learned wiring race cars with lots of sensors and electronics that need clean power, often off a compact battery, is to add a quality terminal strip or two (one POS, one Gnd) wired too and mounted in an available spot where you can easily connect all your power wires to a known clean 12-16V and a known good ground. They are also available with built in fuse holders. The old truck is looking and sounding good
Well done. I suppose the Holly with replaced Weber metering plate is a thing of the past. This is a far better result than hundreds of initial fire ups I have seen over the years, And certainly the best I have seen with anything Holley on it.

There are lots of buyers from there that come to Canada (here) and buy truckloads of these to tinker and sell over there. You just have to look around some.
@@samrodian919 The buyer I met is from the Netherlands. One thing about them is your roads are pretty too narrow to comfortably drive there. I have sold 2 narrower 1949 Williys pick up's to a Brit buyer some 3 or 4 years ago. No matter what the condition he paid well over $10K Canadian for them. Both were in fairly solid body condition. Both ran as well.
@@TomokosEnterprize well I run a Range Rover L322 4.2 Supercharged, and that's a pretty wide vehicle for the UK certainly as wide as a Ford Transit van, and I don't have any problems on my local roads! Yes UK roads used to be pretty narrow, but big heavy euro trucks ( small by US / Canadian standards ) have literally forced the local authorities to make the lanes wider when they are resurfacing the roads. Hi Steve. That was a sweet truck before and now it is even sweeter, with upgraded fuel and ignition systems. Much better overall styling on the square bodies, too (in my opinion) than the new ones. Can't get over how much that throttle body looks like a regular double pumper. Nice, old school look, under the hood! Thanks for the video!
That Nova is going to be a rocket bud. This truck runs better with just the factory set tune than it ever did with the carb . You are going to have a lot of fun.
There’s one happy guy! Nice work Steve. Welcome to the world of EFI on old Detroit iron. It’s nice for the HEI equipped GM vehicles have a constant 12V source. My 68 Camaro does not. Those old cars had a resistor wire from the ignition switch (run) and a 12v wire from the starter solenoid to the + coil terminal. Other than having to flip a switch prior to starting, it’s hit the key and go. Congrats on the latest mod. You’re going to enjoy it.
